Cowboys 2022 free-agency tracker: Who stays, who goes, who comes in

A continuously updated tracker of where the Cowboys long list of free agents end up, who stays in house and any external free agent signings. Cowboys related rumors are gathered as well. | From @KDDrummondNFL

The marathon to the 2023 Super Bowl has begun. On Monday, the NFL’s legal tampering window opened, allowing teams to, supposedly, begin negotiations with other team’s free agents. The new league year doesn’t begin until Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. Central time, but the window gives teams a couple days to work out deals and give themselves a better idea of what cap space they’ll need to create.

Teams have until the start of the league year to be cap compliant with their Top 51 contract values. Of course, teams and agents have been negotiating, as witnessed by the Cincinnati Bengals and Alex Cappa agreeing to a four-year deal seconds into the tampering window. Yes, that means they were illegally tampering but nothing will come of it.  As for the Dallas Cowboys?

Trading away Amari Cooper moved them to about $20 million worth of cap space, of which they spent a portion to bring back Michael Gallup. They still have plenty of holes to fill and they would like to fill that up  with their own guys first. That is best explained with this Process Primer, where in great detail it’s explained why Dallas prefers their own free agents and why the pandemic handcuffed their normal operating procedure.

Below you will find a tracker for all things Dallas and free agency. An accounting of who is in, who is out and who is returning to the fold.

LIVE UPDATES: Complete list of Chiefs moves in free agency

Keep track of all the signings, departures, trades and more with our complete #Chiefs free agency tracker:

The NFL’s free agency period doesn’t officially open until Wednesday, March 16 at 4:00 p.m. ET, but the legal tampering period has arrived for the NFL. Before you know it there will be many new deals agreed upon across the league, sending pending free agents to new teams.

Below you can track all of the moves the Kansas City Chiefs make from the legal tampering period through the various waves of free agency. You’ll find things related to free-agent signings, contract tenders, trades, cuts, free-agent departures, contract extensions and restructures. The front office in Kansas City still has some work to do with the salary cap, so expect those moves to be among the first they make as free agency gets underway.

Saints’ 2022 free agency tracker

Keep up with each move in our New Orleans Saints 2022 free agency live tracker, via @RossJacksonNOLA and @john_siglerr:

The NFL’s legal tampering period opens at 11 a.m. CT on Monday, March 14, with deals becoming official at the start of the new league year at 3 p.m. CT on Wednesday, March 16. During this period, agreements can be made in principle and we’ll start to get an idea of where players are expected to head for at least the 2022 season.

For the New Orleans Saints, the next couple of days may be more about the team learning whether or not top free agents like Terron Armstead, Marcus Williams, and Jameis Winston will depart. Though it is reasonable to expect the Saints to potentially be in the mix earlier than usual with their own signings as well. Especially if their pending free agents begin to fly off the board early.

It will be a fast-paced and busy week for Saints fans so keep up with all the moves here in our live-updated Saints free agency tracker.

Detroit Lions 2022 NFL free agency tracker

Keeping updated with all the Lions players signed, lost and met with during free agency

The NFL’s free agent frenzy kicks off this week, beginning with Monday’s legal tampering period. Teams can negotiate with free agents from other teams and work out deals, though nothing becomes official until the new league year begins on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET.

The Detroit Lions figure to be active in free agency. GM Brad Holmes and his staff enter free agency with the 6th-most salary cap room available for 2022 and a host of holes on the roster. Players from the 2021 Lions who are free agents will also sign around the league.

Detroit already jumpstarted free agency by bringing back a few restricted free agents, notably OL Evan Brown and QB Tim Boyle.

We’ll keep updating all the player movement to and from the Lions here in this tracker. Keep checking back as the frenzy goes forward.

Notre Dame transfer portal tracker (2022)

An ongoing list of those departing and those entering…

The transfer portal is sweeping college football and changing the landscape of the entire sport like few things have before.  Although Notre Dame hasn’t been hit with a major loss by any means this season, there is still plenty of an impact that can be felt as nine different players have entered the portal since the start of the football season.

We assume it’s only a matter of time before the Irish land a few commitments in it but as of now that is not yet the case.

Here are those nine and the latest on their future destinations:

A running list of all the sporting events postponed or canceled because of COVID-19

Our tracker for games and other sporting events impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

As the world continues to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, FTW is keeping tabs on its impact in sports. This post will remain updated with the latest postponements and cancellations across the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, and college football and basketball.

The omicron variant has prompted leagues to once again update their coronavirus guidelines and best practices. Even with enhanced protocols, many players are contracting the virus and entering isolation as a result. Games have been routinely postponed due to the lack of available players or uncontrolled spread in the locker room.

On Dec. 27, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention decreased the  recommended quarantine period from 10 days to five days for those who test positive for the virus.

More information on COVID-19 and vaccinations can be found here.

Notre Dame Football Coaching Staff Tracker

What Notre Dame coaches are coming and going in wake of Freeman hire?

When Brian Kelly left Notre Dame for LSU the fear among Fighting Irish faithful was that he’d be taking a good amount of assistant coaches with him.  By doing so that would sting Notre Dame both in the present and in the future as not only coaches would theoretically leave and then current players and recruits would perhaps follow the coaches they have close relationships with as well.

That may have been the fear but so far it’s certainly not the case as to what has happened as one by one more Notre Dame assistants have been reported to be staying on the coaching staff as we await the University to confirm the reports of Marcus Freeman being the next head football coach.

If Kelly thought he’d be able to bring a good amount of the staff with him, so far it’s gone for him about as well as it did for Jerry MaGuire when he left to start his own agency.

Here are what we know so far in regards to Notre Dame’s staff and who is returning and who we do not yet know:
