Josh Reynolds offers a great thanks to Lions fans

Josh Reynolds offers a great thanks to Lions fans after signing with the Broncos

Josh Reynolds felt a lot of love from the Lions fans in his two-plus seasons in Detroit. Now that he’s joined the Denver Broncos as a free agent, Reynolds shared the love right back.

Reynolds posted a nice thank you note to the Lions fans on his social media.

“To all the Lions fans: Thank you for your support over the past 2 and a half yrs. It’s been an unreal experienced support. To the rumors going around that I didn’t resign because of the fans is crazy. I still felt nothing but love from this city. So thank you again for the great memories.”

Reynolds did conclude that story with a note,

“But with that being said…”

Josh Reynolds’ contract with Broncos is lower than originally expected

Josh Reynolds’ two-year deal with the Broncos is worth “up to” $14 million, but it’s a $9 million deal before any potential incentives.

When the Denver Broncos signed wide receiver Josh Reynolds to a two-year contract last week, the deal was originally said to be worth “up to” $14 million. That’s a classic agent line that gives the potential maximum value if every incentive is reached, but it doesn’t mention the base salary.

Reynolds’ contract details are now known and his deal is worth much less than $7 million per season.

Reynolds received a $2 million signing bonus that will be prorated as $1 million cap hits over the next two years. This season, he will have a base salary of $2,245,000 and a per-game roster bonus of $255,000. That will give Reynolds a total salary cap hit of $3.5 million in 2024.

Next year, Reynolds’ base salary will increase to $3.99 million and his per-game roster bonus will jump to $510,000. That will give the receiver a salary cap hit of $5.5 million in 2025.

It’s a essentially a two-year, $9 million contract for the veteran receiver. Reynolds will have $2,245,000 in guaranteed salary this year but no guaranteed pay in 2025. So the Broncos would save $4.5 million if they cut him next year.

Reynolds, 29, is entering his eighth season in the NFL. Denver has about $17.84 million in remaining salary cap space.

Ravens free agent WR target signs with Broncos

A Ravens free agent wide receiver target signed with the Broncos

The Baltimore Ravens need a wide receiver or two, especially after all but losing Odell Beckham Jr. in free agency. The team has vocalized going young at the position, but that didn’t stop them from bringing in a few veteran options for visits.

Former Lions wide receiver Josh Reynolds and Cowboys wideout Michael Gallup came to Baltimore over the past week but left without deals. A few days ago, it was announced that Reynolds had signed with the Denver Broncos, eliminating him as an option for the Ravens.

Reynolds would have been a solid No.3/No. 4 option in Baltimore, but it was hard for them to match the up to $7M per year he got from Denver. We’ll see how the Ravens will pivot, but it will be without Reynolds.

Josh Reynolds signed with the Broncos for less than initially reported

Former Lions WR Josh Reynolds signed with the Broncos as a free agent for less than initially reported

Former Lions wide receiver Josh Reynolds is now a member of the Denver Broncos. The veteran wideout signed in Denver this week as a free agent.

Initially, reports indicated that Reynolds inked with the Broncos for a deal in the $7 million per season range for two years. The actual deal is considerably lower.

Per Over The Cap, Reynolds signed in Denver for $9 million over two seasons. He received a $2 million signing bonus and a total guaranteed salary of $2.245 million in 2024, with no guaranteed salary in 2025. There are also roster bonuses that total $765,000 in the two seasons.

Reynolds counts $3.5 million against Denver’s cap in 2024 and $5.5 million in 2025, though cutting him after one season would cost Denver just $1 million in dead salary cap room.

WR Josh Reynolds leaves fellow Aggies alumnus Dan Campbell for multi-year deal in AFC

Following 2-plus years with Detroit, Aggies alumnus Josh Reynolds is departing Dan Campbell’s squad for a multi-year deal with an AFC team.

Following two and a half seasons with the Detroit Lions, Texas A&M alumnus Josh Reynolds is departing fellow former Aggie Dan Campbell‘s squad for a multi-year deal with an AFC team.

According to a report from ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter, Reynolds has signed a two-year deal worth up to $14 million with the Denver Broncos.

“It’s awesome, man. My uncles are diehard Broncos fan. Even just saying that y’all were in the mix of things, they were ecstatic. For me to come out here, I hope to change stuff up,” Reynolds told Denver team reporter and producer Sydney Jones. “I’ve always been an admirer of coach Payton. Seeing him with the Saints for so long, I just love his creativeness, I know he’s going to put great people around the facility and I’m just looking forward to working with him. I’m hyped and ready for it.

“I’m on the smoother side but you got a playmaker for sure. Hopefully a guy to help win.”

Reynolds finished the 2023 regular season with 40 receptions for 608 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Free agent WR Josh Reynolds to visit with the Ravens

It’s been a quiet free agent period for Reynolds but he’s heading to Baltimore on a visit

It’s been a pretty quiet free agency period for Josh Reynolds. The wideout hasn’t been in the news for being courted by any teams, including a potential return to the Detroit Lions.

That is changing for Reynolds. He’s visiting with the Baltimore Ravens on Friday, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Reynolds has been with the Lions since being traded from Tennessee at the 2021 trade deadline. He’s caught 97 passes for 1,393 yards and 10 touchdowns in 38 games with Detroit, starting 29 of those. He was the Lions’ No. 2 receiver in both receptions (40) and targets (64) last season.

The Lions brought back Donovan Peoples-Jones as a free agent. It’s been very quiet on the Reynolds front in Detroit.
