Georgia Bulldogs WR names transfer destination

Former Georgia Bulldogs junior wide receiver Tommy Bush has transferred closer to home after attending Samuel Clemens High School in Texas.

Former Georgia Bulldogs junior wide receiver Tommy Bush, who dealt with nagging injuries the majority of his time in Athens, has transferred to the North Texas Mean Green. North Texas plays in C-USA and went 4-6 during the 2020 college football season.

Tommy Bush will look to earn more playing time with the Mean Green. North Texas is looking to replace former star wide receiver Jaelon Darden, who was drafted by Tampa Bay in the 2021 NFL draft.

The 6-foot-5, 195 pound receiver will give North Texas a red zone threat. Tommy Bush joins other Georgia Bulldogs wide receivers in transferring this offseason.

Bush was involved in a hit-and-run car accident in October where he suffered a concussion and lost a tooth.  Prior to this incident, Bush was nursing a sports hernia/groin injury.  He did not see the field last season and never truly unlocked his potential.  He had only recorded one catch during the 2019 season.

The former 4-star recruit is a Texas native and has at least two years of eligibility left in his college career. Now, he’ll be closer to home.

With Georgia’s G Day spring football game and the start of spring football just weeks away, the Dawgs have taken a hit to its receiving corps.

Junior wide receiver Tommy Bush, who has dealt with nagging injuries the majority of his time in Athens, has officially entered the NCAA transfer portal.

Bush was involved in a hit-and-run car accident in October where he suffered a concussion and lost a tooth.  Prior to this incident, Bush was nursing a sports hernia/groin injury.  He did not see the field last season and never truly got to unlock his potential.  He has only recorded one catch during the 2019 season.

Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Tommy Bush redshirted as a freshman in 2018, when he played in two games: against Austin Peay and UMass. Bush only played one game in 2019. He caught one pass for one yard against Georgia Tech.

At 6-5, Bush has excellent size and the potential to replace Lawrence Cager as a red zone target. Bush came to Athens as a talented four-star wide receiver.

In 2020, Bush will compete for the receiver playing time in the position opposite George Pickens. Dominick Blaylock is recovering from a torn ACL. Georgia secured an elite recruiting class in 2020 and has plenty of talent at the wide receiver position. It will be an interesting position battle to see unfold.

Georgia football injury report ahead of UGA vs Tech game

Take a look at Georgia footballs injury status prior to UGA’s final game of their regular season before LSU at Georgia Tech.

Georgia defeated the Texas A&M Aggies this Saturday in a cold and rainy matchup by a final score of 19-13.  A win is a win, but man wouldn’t it be nice to close some teams out strong?

The Dawgs didn’t look bad in the first half, nearly covering the 13-point spread they were given prior to the game. It was the 2nd half that made Bulldog fans scratch their heads.

The Aggies outscored Georgia 10-6 in the 2nd half.  That is a pretty bad look for a No. 4 team, but give credit to a hard-fought, Jimbo Fisher coached team.

Now the Dawgs have just one more opponent left before facing LSU in the SEC Championship game, and that is Georgia Tech.

With LSU looming, the Dawgs will look to be as healthy as possible for that game.

Probable: DB Eric Stokes

Stokes left the Texas A&M game just before halftime after he got a little dinged up on a hit.  Kirby Smart did not seem concerned about the matter.  Expect Stokes to be ready to go.

Probable: DB Tyson Campbell

Campbell has been playing through a toe injury for the past couple of weeks but is cleared to play against Tech.

Probable: OL Cade Mays

Mays has been nursing an ankle injury since the Missouri game.  He dressed against A&M but was very limited, as is expected next week in order to save him for LSU.

Questionable: WR Trey Blount

Blount is listed as questionable with an undisclosed injury.

Questionable: WR Lawrence Cager

Cager has been battling a left shoulder injury nearly the entire season.  Even missing a number of games, Cager is still the Dawgs leader in receptions and receiving yards.  Expect Cager to get minimal time if any to rest him up for the SEC Championship game vs LSU.

OUT: WR Tommy Bush

Bush has been recovering from a sports hernia and will likely be out for the year.

OUT: DT Tramel Walthour

Walthour is battling a lower-body injury and has no timetable for his return.

OUT: OL Owen Condon

Condon has been battling a lower-body injury all year and Saturday was seen in a sling.  Should likely be out for season.

OUT: OL Justin Shaffer

Shaffer was in a neck brace for the A&M game and has no timetable for his return.

OUT: QB D’Wan Mathis

Freshman quarterback D’wan Mathis is out indefinitely after undergoing surgery to remove a cyst from his brain this offseason.  There is no current timetable for Mathis’ return.

Georgia football injury report for UGA vs Auburn game

UGA football is banged up heading into the Georgia vs Auburn football game.

The No. 4 Georgia Bulldogs are coming off of a 27-0 smackdown of Missouri, as well as a massive win over Florida the week prior.  The Dawgs have been rolling with a three game win streak since the hiccup of South Carolina.

Approaching week 12 comes Georgia’s biggest game thus far, a chance to secure its 3rd straight trip to the SEC Championship.

Auburn is currently ranked No. 12 with a record of 7-2, 4-2 in SEC. Its two loss season is not to be overlooked as the Tigers lost close games at No. 10 Florida and No. 1 LSU.

Last weekend vs Missouri, Georgia won, but it came at cost. The Dawgs lost a few players to injuries throughout the game, but for the most part nothing looks too serious.

Probable: WR Lawrence Cager

Cager aggravated his shoulder last game and did not return.  The Dawgs leading receiver has been practicing this week and is expected to play on Saturday.  Having Cager against Auburn will be crucial, as he has become Fromm’s favorite target this season.

Probable: WR Tyler Simmons

Simmons’ shoulder has been bothering for a majority of the season but he should be good to go.

Probable: OL Cade Mays

Mays left the Missouri game with a hurt ankle but has indicated that he is fine.

Probable: CB Tyson Campbell

Campbell missed a significant chunk of the season with turf toe but played vs Missouri and said he felt great out there.
