Ohio State at Texas A&M picks and predictions

Prediction

Ohio State 74, Texas A&M 70

Moneyline

BET OHIO STATE (+190).

Ohio State has already been tested early this season, beating the Texas Longhorns 80-72 at a neutral location. While a road game will present more difficulties, the Buckeyes have a flashy young team with 5 players averaging 9-plus points. Texas A&M already has an early loss 64-61 to UCF as a 6-point favorite. While this game will be a tight matchup, the Buckeyes have what it takes to win you some money on Friday.

Against the spread

PASS.

The value is better on the Buckeyes to win outright.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 147.5 (-110).

The key to this game for both sides will be slowing the pace and controlling the tempo, which will keep the total lower. Combined, the Buckeyes and Aggies have a 2-3 Over record to start the season. Be careful though, as this is a lower-than-average total and both teams have the capability to eclipse it.

Lamar at Texas A&M odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Lamar at Texas A&M odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The No. 23 Texas A&M Aggies (1-1) welcome the Lamar Cardinals (1-0) to Reed Arena Monday. Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college basketball odds around the Lamar vs. Texas A&M odds, and make our expert college basketball picks and predictions.

Texas A&M is No. 23 in the USA TODAY Sports Men’s Basketball Coaches Poll. It dropped from No. 15 after a disappointing 64-61 opening-season loss at the UCF Knights, closing as a 6-point favorite. The Aggies followed that up with an 87-55 win over the visiting East Texas A&M Lions Friday, covering as 31-point favorites. SMU transfer G Zhuric Phelps has been Texas A&M’s key weapon, scoring 18 points per game and shooting 61.5% from the field.

Lamar throttled Paul Quinn University 113-42 Nov. 4. It outscored Paul Quinn by at least 30 points in each half. It beat Paul Quinn by 27 points last season, so it has certainly had year-over-year improvements. The Cardinals were led by F Andrew Holifield, who dropped 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting. The Cardinals were 19-14 last season and finished 4th in the Southland Conference.

  • Against the spread (ATS): Lamar +25.5 (-110) | Texas A&M -25.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 145.5 (O: -105 | U: -115)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4132″ ]

Lamar at Texas A&M picks and predictions

Prediction

Texas A&M 80, Lamar 62

Moneyline

PASS.

There’s nothing to see here. The Aggies are far, far too expensive, and the Cardinals likely won’t have the firepower to keep pace with Texas A&M.

Against the spread

BET LAMAR +25.5 (-110).

Texas A&M dominated East Texas A&M Friday, and while the Aggies covered, they faced an opponent that was just 13-20 last season and 6-12 in Southland play.

Lamar, which has added Holifield this season, was 19-14 overall and 12-6 in Southland play. It played against 3 AAC sides and 1 SEC side last season and did not lose any of the 4 games by 26 or more points.

As for Texas A&M, it is averaging just 74 points per game and had a disappointing season-opening loss, shooting just 37% from the field and committing double-digit turnovers. While Lamar likely won’t win the game, it should keep within this spread. Back LAMAR +25.5 (-110).

Over/Under

BET UNDER 145.5 (-115).

The Aggies play a high level of defense, which was almost their savior against UCF. They allowed just 64 points in that game and followed that up by allowing 55 Friday. Texas A&M has gone Under in both battles.

While Lamar dropped 113 on Paul Quinn, this will obviously be a far more competent defense, and considering it hasn’t faced one of this caliber, it may struggle to get good looks.

Take UNDER 145.5 (-115).

The Texas A&M Aggies (7-1, 5-0 SEC) visit the South Carolina Gamecocks (4-3, 2-3) Saturday. Kickoff from Williams-Brice Stadium is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (ABC). Texas A&M 31, South Carolina 23

Moneyline

PASS.

There is better value on the Aggies’ (-160) spread.

BET TEXAS A&M -3 (-110).

Texas A&M has scored 34 or more points in 3 consecutive games, covering in 2 of the 3. It has allowed 24 or fewer points in each game this season.

South Carolina has allowed 27 or more points in 2 of its last 3 games and 3 of its last 5.

Over/Under

BET OVER 43.5 (-115).

LSU at Texas A&M odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s LSU at Texas A&M odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The 7th-ranked LSU Tigers (6-1, 3-0 SEC) meet the No. 14 Texas A&M Aggies (6-1, 4-0) in a Week 9 Saturday battle in College Station. Kickoff at Kyle Field will be at 7:30 p.m. ET (ABC). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around LSU vs. Texas A&M odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

LSU won at Arkansas last Saturday. The Tigers downed the Razorbacks 34-10, covering as a 3-point favorite. The Louisiana State defense held UA to just 277 total yards, and the Tigers dominated in time of possession 38:53 to 21:07.

Texas A&M defeated Mississippi State 34-24 last Saturday. The Aggies were outgained 367 yards to 353 in failing to cover a 21-point spread.

Both teams enter on 6-game win streaks after losing their season openers.

LSU at Texas A&M picks and predictions

Prediction

LSU 30, Texas A&M 27

Moneyline

LSU leads the all-time series 36-23-3. LSU’s dominance includes a 7-game win streak from 2011-17, but the last 6 meetings have netted a 3-3 split with the home team winning in all 6. LSU won last season’s contest in Baton Rouge 42-30, covering as a -10.5 favorite.

With A&M being outgained at Mississippi State last Saturday and with 2 other recent results (Sept. 21 vs. Bowling Green, Sept. 28 vs. Arkansas) being unimpressive, there are enough questions that point to the Aggies being vulnerable in this spot. And A&M’s run-1st attack does not get at an LSU deficiency in defending the pass.

The LSU defense is awful in allowing explosive run plays, but cranking out those types of runs are not a hallmark of the Aggies offense.

It all spells a game flow giving the Tigers a legit chance to win. They have already been steamed up from +115 to -105 Saturday morning. Stick with LSU -105.

Against the spread

The ML provides more value than a 1-point loss insurance policy.

PASS.

Over/Under

The Over has cashed in each of the last 3 Tigers-Aggies games.

Expect the visitors to play some high-volume ball, and look for plenty of passing — likely more than A&M wants — on a good-weather night at Kyle Field. Its reasonable to expect some dual-side havoc plays and short-field opportunities in the game flow, and the OVER 54.5 (-110) is a slight lean.

Texas A&M at Mississippi State odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Texas A&M at Mississippi State odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Texas A&M Aggies (5-1, 3-0 SEC) and Mississippi State Bulldogs (1-5, 0-3) meet Saturday. Kickoff from Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field is scheduled for 4:15 p.m. ET (SEC Network). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Texas A&M vs. Mississippi State odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Texas A&M, which was off last week, destroyed the then-No. 9 Missouri Tigers 41-10 Oct. 5 as a 2.5-point home favorite. The Aggies outgained Mizzou 512 to 254 yards and at one point led 34-0. Texas A&M is No. 14 in the US LBM Coaches Poll.

Mississippi State put up a great fight in its last outing, losing 41-31 vs. the No. 4 Georgia Bulldogs Oct. 12 while covering as a 33-point underdog. Mississippi State allowed 605 yards of total offense, but its 2 forced turnovers and 21-point 2nd half helped the Bulldogs cover.

Texas A&M at Mississippi State picks and predictions

Prediction

Texas A&M 42, Mississippi State 21

Moneyline

PASS.

Texas A&M (-1000) is simply the better team and will pick up the win here, but the Aggies are not worth the risk of betting on as such heavy favorites. Bet the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

LEAN TEXAS A&M -19.5 (-110).

Texas A&M is coming off a dominant win vs. a Missouri team that was formerly ranked top 10 in the nation, so I expect the Aggies to be able to cover here against a Mississippi State team that is far inferior and has just 1 win on the season.

This is a lean because Mississippi State has covered the spread against both Georgia and Texas. The Aggies also failed to cover against both Bowling Green and Arkansas, making them 1-2 ATS over their last 3 games.

Over/Under

BET OVER 55.5 (-115).

Mississippi State has the worst defense in the SEC, allowing 465.7 yards per game and 33.2 points per game, both worst in the SEC. Texas A&M, while much better than the Bulldogs defensively, also allowed 20 points to both Florida and Bowling Green this season, both of which are much inferior opponents to the Aggies.

The Bulldogs average 28 points per game, and I expect them to be able to score enough to help the Over hit, especially with how putrid their defense is.

Missouri at Texas A&M odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Missouri at Texas A&M odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The No. 21 Texas A&M Aggies (4-1, 2-0 SEC) welcome the No. 9 Missouri Tigers (4-0, 1-0) to Kyle Field Saturday. Kickoff is set for noon ET (ABC). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Missouri vs. Texas A&M odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Missouri is No. 9 and Texas A&M is No. 21 in the US LBM Coaches Poll.

The Tigers kicked off the season with 2 non-Power 5 games, both blowout wins. They covered in both and then beat Boston College and Vanderbilt, the former by 6 points and the latter by 3 in overtime, failing to cover as a double-digit favorite in both. Missouri is 2-2 against the spread (ATS) and has scored at least 27 points in all 4 games.

The Aggies, one of the few teams with 5 games under their belt, opened the season with a loss to No. 13 Notre Dame, but they have rattled off 4 wins since. Texas A&M has wins over Arkansas and Florida; however, it is just 1-4 ATS on the season. A&M is 0-3 ATS at home this season as well.

Missouri at Texas A&M picks and predictions

Prediction

Missouri 27, Texas A&M 21

Moneyline

BET MISSOURI (+115).

The Tigers have had a few close calls, but they are still undefeated and have scored with ease this season. Missouri’s strength is in the run game, going for north of 200 yards on the ground against Vanderbilt in Week 5. Texas A&M ranks 56th in opponents’ yards per rush attempt, so it might not be able to slow down the Tigers’ run game.

The Aggies have allowed 20 or more points in 3 of 5 games, and they have struggled heavily to cover at home. They are 0-1 at home in games with a single-digit spread. That said, back the Tigers to come out on top, and bet MISSOURI (+115).

Against the spread

PASS.

The moneyline is the better play here, and while the spread is playable, the preferred option here is the plus-money road side.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 48.5 (-110).

Both teams are trending towards the Under in this one. The Tigers have gone Under in 3 of 4 games this season, allowing 21 or fewer points in 3 of the 4. They have allowed a total of 48 points through 4 games.

Given their desire to keep the ball on the ground, they are consistently draining clock as well. The Aggies are 2-3 O/U and have allowed 23 or fewer points in all 5 games. Considering those trends, take UNDER 48.5 (-110).

The Arkansas Razorbacks (3-1, 1-0 SEC) and Texas A&M Aggies (3-1, 1-0) meet in the Southwest Classic at AT&T Stadium in Arglinton Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Arkansas vs. Texas A&M odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Arkansas has won back-to-back games after taking down Auburn 24-14 Sept. 21 and covering as a 2.5-point road underdog. QB Taylen Green went 12 of 27 for 151 yards with a touchdown and 2 interceptions. The Razorbacks dominated the run game with Green carrying the ball 18 times for 80 yards and RB Ja’Quinden Jackson scoring 2 TDs on 22 carries for 75 yards.

Texas A&M has won 3 games in a row after taking down Bowling Green 26-20 last week while failing to cover as a 21-point home favorite. Arkansas vs. Texas A&M picks and predictions

Prediction

Texas A&M 31, Arkansas 27

Moneyline

PASS.

There is no value on Texas A&M (-225) to win Saturday; however, after its performance against Bowling Green last week, the Razorbacks at +180 is good value for a potential upset.

Against the spread

BET ARKANSAS +5.5 (-105).

The Razorbacks not only covered as underdogs last week on the road against Auburn, but won by 10 points. They have covered the spread in both games they have played as underdogs away from home this season.

While A&M has won 3 games in a row, it is just 1-3 ATS and has allowed 20 or more points in 3 of its 4 games.

Over/Under

BET OVER 51.5 (-110).

The Razorbacks have scored 24 or more points in every game this season, including 31 or more in 3 of the 4. They have allowed 27 or more points in 2 of their last 3, and the Over has gone 3-1 in Razorbacks games this season.

The Aggies have hit the Over while scoring 33 or more points in 2 of their last 3 games. They have allowed 20 points in back-to-back games.

The Bowling Green Falcons (1-1) travel to meet the Texas A&M Aggies (2-1) Saturday at Kyle Field in College Station. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN+/SEC+). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Bowling Green vs. Texas A&M odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Falcons roughed up FCS Fordham 41-17 in the opener Aug. 29, covering as a 15.5-point favorite as the Under (61) cashed. On Sept. 7, Bowling Green gave Penn State all it could handle in Happy Valley, falling 34-27, but easily covering as a 34-point underdog as the Over (51.5) comfortably connected.

The Aggies opened with a loss to Notre Dame, 23-13, in front of the 12th Man. It rebounded with a 52-10 win over McNeese State, but Texas A&M failed to cover as a 47.5-point favorite as the Over (56) hit. It picked up a 33-20 win at Florida last week in the SEC opener, covering as a 3.5-point favorite to improve to 1-2 against the spread (ATS). The Over is 2-0 in the past 2 games.

Bowling Green at Texas A&M picks and predictions

Prediction

Texas A&M 38, Bowling Green 24

Moneyline

Texas A&M (-2500) will cost you 25 times your potential return, which means you must wager $100 for every $4 in profit. It shouldn’t need to be said, but that’s ridiculous. Risking that much for so little is a poor long-term betting strategy.

PASS.

Against the spread

BOWLING GREEN +22.5 (-110) is worth playing in this trip down to Texas. The Falcons were not fazed at Happy Valley, losing just by 1 score at Penn State. The Falcons were good for 121 rushing yards and 254 passing yards, while QB Connor Bazelak tossed 2 TDs.

Texas A&M -22.5 (-110) covered last week on the road at Florida, but it is 0-2 ATS in 2 games at home.

Over/Under

OVER 51.5 (-110) is the lean, but go with a half-unit play at the most.

The total has gone high in 2 straight games for the Aggies, averaging 42.5 PPG in the past 2 outings, while allowing 17.7 PPG in 3 games so far this season.

For the Falcons, they’ll be well rested and raring to go after a bye week. Bowling Green is averaging 34.0 PPG, and that includes the trip to Penn State. The defense is allowing 25.5 PPG. We should have ourselves a higher-scoring game.

Texas A&M at Florida odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Texas A&M at Florida odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Texas A&M Aggies (1-1) and Florida Gators (1-1) clash Saturday at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET (ABC). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college football odds around the Texas A&M vs. Florida odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

After a season-opening loss to Notre Dame, A&M, which sits just outside of the Top 25, took its frustrations out on McNeese State 52-10. Aggies QB Conner Weigman (undisclosed) is questionable for this one. If he can’t go, QB Marcel Reed will be under center. Weigman went 11-for-14 for 125 yards and 2 scores last week. Reed went 5-for-11 for 71 yards and rushed 7 times for 43 yards.

Florida rebounded from a beatdown against Miami with a 45-7 chomping of Samford last week. QB DJ Lagway was 18-for-25 for 456 yards and 3 scores through the air. RB Montrell Johnson Jr. rushed 15 times for 67 yards and 2 scores in the game. The victory snapped a 6-game losing streak, dating back to last season.

Texas A&M at Florida picks and predictions

Prediction

Florida 24, Texas A&M 21

Moneyline

A lot hinges on Weigman’s ability to suit up, as Reed has just 47 career passes and not a lot to show for it. Lagway was the No. 1 quarterback in the 2024 recruiting class, and he can beat you with his arm and his legs. QB Graham Mertz will also see some action for Florida, which could give A&M problems in preparation.

Add in this game is at The Swamp, and I’m taking the upset. Take FLORIDA +145.

Against the spread

We’re taking the value on the ML, so there’s little reason to take the spread. Instead, we’re taking MONTRELL JOHNSON JR. ANYTIME TOUCHDOWN (+100). He had 2 scores last week and another in the first game. Even odds? Sign me up!

Over/Under

I’m not as confident on this take here, but with the uncertainty at QB for A&M, I feel like it’s going to try to run the ball early on until Florida stacks the box. Things should open up in the 2nd half, but it’ll be too late to hit the Over by then. LEAN UNDER 46.5 (-110).

Notre Dame at Texas A&M odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Notre Dame at Texas A&M odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Texas A&M Aggies are set for a Saturday tussle in College Station. Kickoff at Kyle Field is set for 7:30 p.m. ET (ABC). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Notre Dame vs. Texas A&M odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Notre Dame is No. 7 in the US LBM Coaches Poll. The Irish went 10-3 last season. Coach Marcus Freeman returns for his 3rd full season, and he’s added some help for his offense. QB Riley Leonard transferred in from Duke, and former LSU offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock now has that same gig in South Bend.

With this contest at Kyle Field, the coach Mike Elko era begins for 20th-ranked Texas A&M. Elko replaces Jimbo Fisher after the Aggies went 7-6 last season and 9-12 since Oct. 1, 2022. The new bench boss in College Station should have a healthy Conner Weigman at quarterback (he missed the last 9 games in 2023 with a foot injury) and a potentially dominant defensive line.

Notre Dame at Texas A&M picks and predictions

Prediction

Notre Dame 27, Texas A&M 24

Moneyline

There’s good value with Notre Dame (+125), but I’m going with the advantage of taking the points with the spread below.

Against the spread

Notre Dame is 5-1 ATS over its last 6 games; the Irish are 5-2 ATS across their last 7 Week 1 games. The Aggies are 1-6-1 ATS over their last 8.

An inexperienced Notre Dame offensive line vs. a strong front-7 for the Aggies figures as a key matchup here. But the Irish figure to have a talent edge just about everywhere else.

A program edge: The Irish are not in flux, the Aggies are.

Look for the new coordinators to scheme this one up and for a score that spirals past the total with the Fighting Irish in front.

BACK NOTRE DAME +3 (-115).

Betting the Irish ML (+125) isn’t terrible. Just don’t wager more than 1.1 UNITS between the 2 options, the -Irish  moneyline and their +3 spread (-115).

Over/Under

Too much attention is often paid to the Irish defense. The Over has hit in 6 straight Notre Dame games.

On a good weather/good field day, look for the offenses to be quick and in command throughout the bulk of this one. BACK OVER 47 (-110).
