Multiple 2025 prospects are currently trending towards Texas A&M

2025 4-star tight end Kiotti Armstrong and 3-star OG Joshua Moses are currently trending towards committing to Texas A&M.

Texas A&M’s annual recruiting pool party was by all means a success due to the overall turnout as the 2024 and 2025 recruiting classes were well represented, and based on several quotes from the weekend, Jimbo Fisher and his staff have remained highly influential recruiters as we head into August, as the 2023 season is now just one month away.

While most of the Aggies 2024 cycle is likely set in stone ahead of National Signing Day in February, the 2025 cycle is once again filled to the brim with talent at every position, and two class members are currently trending towards Texas A&M.

First, 2025 four-star tight end Kiotti Armstrong, who stands at 6-5 and nearly 250 pounds, was one of the many 2025 prospects to attend the pool party and is currently positioned as the 48th-ranked player in Texas. The 8th-ranked tight end in the class has received a Rivals forecast from recruiting analyst Landyn Rosow to land with Texas A&M.

Next, underrated 2025 offensive lineman Joshua Moses, positioned as the 82nd-ranked player in Texas, stands at 6-3 and 324 pounds and is undoubtedly a future riser in the recruiting ranks. After the Aggies offered Moses in February, he also received a forecast from Rosow to commit to the Maroon and White.

Texas A&M’s 2025 class may not have any players signed, but remember that before June, the Aggies’ 2024 cycle was in the single digits and now contains 18 verbal commitments.

Top 2024 JUCO safety Laquan Robinson places Texas A&M in his Top 5 program list

2024 JUCO safety Laquan Robinson has reportedly placed Texas A&M in his Top 5 program list.

The JUCO recruiting ranks are a mainstay for the SEC, as most of the more talented prospects spend a couple of seasons with some of the more notable JUCO programs in the Southeast. In the 2024 recruiting cycle, three-star safety Laquan Robinson is a stand-out defender with plenty of experience under his belt.

On Tuesday, Robinson released his Top 5 program list, which includes Ole Miss, Houston, Florida, Auburn, and Texas A&M, as the former 2022 recruiting class member and Alabama native spent last season at Holmes Community College, where he recorded 46 tackles and one interception during the 2022 season.

According to 247Sports, Robinson is currently positioned as the 5th-ranked player in the 2024 JUCO rankings, the No.1-ranked safety, and the 3rd-ranked player in Alabama.

Since April, Robinson has received ten offers, including six offers from SEC programs, as the Aggies entered the conversation have fielding him an offer on Apr. 22. Standing at 6-2 and 195 pounds, Laquan Robinson has the size, speed, coverage ability and vision paired with what will be two years of experience once he enters the FBS ranks.

Man (Lane Kiffin) yells at cloud (Texas A&M) for being fluffier from miles away

According to Lane Kiffin, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola’s comments on the Saudi League’s monetary advantage apparently reminds him of, yes, Texas A&M.

Amid Texas A&M’s annual recruiting pool party last weekend, one piece of wild social media-based news you may have missed regarding Ole Miss Head Coach Lane Kiffin’s tweeting habits (or whatever you call it now) reached a new level of weirdness.

Kiffin, who on Saturday quote tweeted an article from ESPN about Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola’s recent comments regarding the new Saudi Pro League’s monetary advantage after Cristiano Ronaldo, who at the age of 38 signed the most significant football salary in history at €200 million per year, while several other stars have received large contracts and transfer fees.

According to Nick Gray of the Clarion Ledger, the fund for said transactions is the exact fund utilized during the recent wave of money spent in LIV Golf.

“At least four of the SPL’s teams are owned by the country’s Public Investment Fund, the sovereign wealth fund controlled by the country’s ruler, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. It’s the same fund that has bankrolled LIV Golf.”

Well, instead of just reading the article for what was; an interesting piece on the changing landscape of fame over ability and the Saudi’s financial impact on the sports market, Kiffin just had to go there, tweeting,

….. …? fill in the blank; it’s Texas A&M: Lane Kiffin’s apparent mortal enemy, and what I can glean from his snarky comments is those buried sad feelings about not playing the Aggies in 2024 have come back as the 2023 season nears. So, of course, bringing back the conspiracy theory created by Alabama Head Coach Nick Saban concerning Jimbo Fisher “buying” the Aggies 2022 recruiting class is Kiffin’s bread and butter.

Texas A&M has become a leader in legal NIL initiatives, including the 12th Man+ Collective, which has since been replicated by multiple programs in the Southeast, including Ole Miss’s The Grove Collective.

We get it, Lane; this isn’t just about NIL-based jealousy, but we all agree that it just won’t be the same in the division-less SEC, and look, you’ve had Jimbo Fisher’s number for the last two seasons, so congratulations on that.

Traveling to Oxford in early November will undoubtedly be a challenge for an Aggie team that is hopefully in the midst of a rebound campaign, and if a nine, ten, or possibly eleven-win season is in the cards, getting past one of the, yes, best offensive play-callers in the game is pivotal. See? Credit where credit is due.

Keep on tweeting, Lane!

Texas A&M Wide receiver Evan Stewart previewed the 2023 season With TexAgs’ David Nuño

In an interview with TexAgs’ David Nuño, Aggie’ star wide receiver Evan Stewart is more than ready for Texas A&M 2023 football season

Texas A&M wide receiver Evan Stewart, who is set to enter his highly anticipated sophomore campaign with the Maroon and White, is no stranger to the spotlight; he ranked as the No.1 wide receiver prospect within the Aggies’ historic 2022 recruiting class, carrying a bevy of potential at one of the most critical positions in the game.

After earning a starting spot on offense during the 2022 season, Stewart, though a wave of in-season losing streak and stark adversity seeping through the locker room, went on to lead the team in receiving yards with 649 but only recorded two touchdowns on the year a revolving door at quarterback.

To his credit, none of the obstacles the Aggies endured last season interrupted Stewart from consistently bringing his impressive blend of speed, route running, soft hands, and, most importantly, on-field gravitas.

Heading into the pivotal 2023 season, Stewart joins a highly talented wide receiver core including Ainias Smith, Moose Muhammad II, and Spring MVP Noah Thomas, collectively one of the top starting units in the country on the brink of finally breaking out under Aggies’ new offensive coordinator, Bobby Petrino.

To bring even more context to what lies in 2023, TexAgs’ Director of Broadcast David Nuño sat down with Evan Stewart last week to get his perspective ahead of the start of fall football camp this week and in what was a riveting 16-plus minute interview, Stewart’s short quote will make every Aggie fan excited regarding just how consistent this offense can end up being:

“Right now, we are clicking on all cylinders.”

Based on the impending quarterback battle between Max Johnson and Conner Wegiman, Stewart provided glowing reviews for both players, reiterating that this competition will last through the fall. Last but not least, Nuño asked about Bobby Petrino’s influence on the offense, leading to an optimistic Stewart referencing the Madden video game franchise, noting the single-player scoring, and describing a potential increase in pre-snap motions and shifts while getting receivers in space to make plays, adding an explosive element to the offense.

As I’ve said all offseason, the sky is the limit for this offense, but coming together as a team throughout the campaign is an absolute must for success.

Texas A&M TE Donovan Green has partnered with Charlie Hustle Co. on a new Aggie clothing line

Texas A&M Tight end Donovan Green has reportedly partnered with Charlie Hustle Co. for a new Aggies-based clothing line.

Outside of the gridiron, some very cool news regarding Texas A&M Tight end Donovan Green has been announced, as the new incoming sophomore has reportedly partnered with Charlie Hustle, a clothing company based in Kansas City, Missouri, to produce a new line of Aggie gear just in time for the start of the 2023 season.

In the new world of NIL, this is a prime example of combining creativity and love for a University to create something that every fan can take part in, as just like his stellar play on the field, I expect nothing less than greatness from one of the up and coming stars on the Aggies roster.

Heading into the start of Fall practice on August 2, Green finished the 2022 season on a high note with 22 receptions, 233 yards, and two touchdowns in ten games, with a 10.6-yard-per-reception average. Sitting behind graduate senior Max Wright, Green will likely battle fellow sophomores Jake Johnson and Theo Ohrstrom for the No.2 spot, but after developing a repertoire with nearly every quarterback who took snaps last season, his stock is definitely up heading into Fall.

To check out the new gear, visit charliehustle.com, and look for Texas A&M in the College link.

2024 5-star Athlete Terry Bussey is reportedly very close to a commitment date

On3’s Sam Spiegelman has reported that 2024 5-star ATH/WR Terry Bussey is closing in on a commitment date.

We may be hammering you, the reader, with constant updates regarding 2024 five-star athlete Terry Bussey’s recruiting status, but trust me; Texas A&M is in a great postion to land one of the most talented and productive players the 2024 cycle offers.

On Tuesday, after speaking with On3’s Sam Spiegelman, Bussey confirmed  that his commitment date would be announced much sooner than later, stating:

“I feel like a commitment is coming up…”

And as the Aggies remain a big favorite according to both On3 and 247Sports, LSU and Oklahoma are still in the hunt, and as we all know, nothing is set in stone until the pen meets paper in February during National Signing Day.

Bussey’s position versatility has led to nearly every program having to narrow down his sole future postion after spending time at quarterback, wide receiver, and defensive back, as Jimbo Fisher and his staff currently see him as a cornerback in D.J. Durkin’s 4-2-5 scheme.

Bussey is currently positioned as the 19th-ranked player in the class, the 2nd-ranked athlete, and the 5th-ranked player in Texas, as his upcoming 2023 senior season at Timpson High School is bound to be his most productive yet. Slated to visit College Station this weekend, he’ll join nearly ten fellow five-star prospects in the 2024 and 2025 cycle to partake in the Aggies’ recruiting pool party festivities.

According to TexAgs’ Billy Liucci, Texas is much more prepared for the SEC than Oklahoma

According to TexAgs’ Billy Liucci, Texas is much more prepared for its jump to the SEC in 2024 than Oklahoma.

Texas A&M’s inaugural SEC season in 2012 was one for the records books, led by star freshman quarterback Johnny Manziels‘ Heisman-winning 11-2 revival of pure unadulterated excitement in College Station, Texas, while also being a complete abnormality when comparing other programs’ entrance into the toughest conference in the country.

Since entering the SEC, The Aggies have gone a collective 90-48 behind both former Head Coach Kevin Sumlin and current Head Coach Jimbo Fisher, coming off the program’s worst record in 14 seasons (5-7, 2-6 SEC), setting up what is a crucial 2023 campaign to get things back on track behind a talented roster, and experienced coaching staff.

However, the legendary Lone Star Showdown vs. the Texas Longhorns has been on a frustrating pause since the 2011 season after the Aggies departed from the Big 12, but after the exciting announcement during the SEC Spring Meetings in early June, culminating in the 2024 SEC schedule reveal just a couple of weeks later, Texas vs. Texas A&M on the gridiron is officially back, and here to stay (tentatively).

Looking ahead, Texas A&M’s nearly 13-year SEC mainstay seemingly put them far ahead of Texas and other future newcomer Oklahoma. Still, as we know, the progress of a program is heavily based on recruiting success, and according to TexAgs’ Billy Liucci, who appeared on the Paul Finebaum show on Monday, believes that current Longhorns Head Coach Steve Sarkisian has his program is much better postion to compete in the conference right off the bat compared to the Sooners:

“Texas is doing a hell of a lot better than OU is in terms of preparing to come into this league” Liucci stated “Sooner fans are in for a rude awakening are in for the rudest awakening because they’ve been going, except last year, 10-2, 11-1, making the playoffs. They’ve been doing that because they’ve been doing it against the Big 12.”

As usual, Liucci has a great point, especially when emphasizing Oklahoma’s horrific defensive showings in the last four or so seasons which were covered mainly by record-setting offenses during Lincoln Riley’s reign, including their 12-2 2018 season with the No.1-ranked offense, and the 109th-ranked defense.

In the SEC, defense, especially winning in the trenches, has been Georgia’s bread and butter during their Championship run. When comparing Texas’ impressive performance against Alabama last season, including their rematch in 2023, Sarkisian’s player development and recruiting prowess places him a step above Oklahoma until further notice.

The 2023 SEC season marks the final time for the East and West divisions, providing teams the opportunity for matchup parity while traveling to a multitude of venues while keeping their most essential rivalries, specifically the Lone Star Showdown, which could end up yielding significant implications for both teams in 2024.

2024 5-star DL Aydin Breland will visit Texas A&M this weekend

It has been confirmed that 2024 5-star DL Aydin Breland will visit College Station this weekend

Several visits have been revealed regarding Texas A&M’s annual recruiting pool party/barbeque during the last weekend of July continues to roll out this week as a swath of 2024 prospects will descend on College Station this weekend, including 2024 five-star defensive lineman Aydin Breland, who is the top-ranked player in California.

On Monday, it was announced that 2024 five-star athlete/wide receiver Terry Bussey will officially join the likes of fellow 2024 five-stars in Edge Colin Simmons, WR Ryan Wingo, and DL David Stone, add Aydin Breland to the mix who has been on A&M’s radar since last year, and after placing the Maroon and White in his Top-10 program list last May after taking his first unofficial visit last October.

According to 247Sports, Breland is currently positioned as the 6th-ranked player in the 2024 cycle, the 2nd-ranked defensive lineman, and the No-1 ranked player in California. Standing at 6-5 and 290 pounds, Breland recorded 24 tackles, 10.4 tackles for loss, and four sacks during his 2022 junior season at Mater Dei, just scratching the surface of his enormous potential in the future.

Breland’s length, speed, and tremendous power, combined with his length and postion versatility, has every program in the country vying for his attention. Still, this weekend, It’s Texas A&M’s turn (shared with Miami).

Everything Aggies Head Coach Jimbo Fisher said during his interview with CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd

Sporting his usual upbeat candor, Texas A&M Head coach Jimbo Fisher previewed the Aggies 2023 season with CBS Sports’s Dennis Dodd.

Texas A&M’s 2023 football season, one of the more anticipated campaigns after enduring one of the worst seasons in program history in 2022 (5-7, 2-6 SEC), is now only 40 days away. After SEC Media Days wrapped up last Friday, Head coach Jimbo Fisher made the interview rounds to give us a sneak preview of what lies ahead.

Entering Fisher’s sixth season with the program, 2022 has come and gone, but until vastly different results on the field come to fruition, preseason talking points are as useless as a glass hammer.

Last week, Fisher’s time at the podium during SEC Media Days witnessed a man on a mission focused on rebuilding A&M’s national image, and even though he continued to avoid directly stating if new offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino this season, those of us covering the team and a bulk of the fanbase know that Petrino was hired to revamp the offense, and yes, call plays.

In one of his final interviews last week, Fisher sat down with CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd in the most in-depth back and forth this offseason, focusing on the state of the program from now on, Bobby Petrino’s positive effect on the team, and recruiting, and of course, discussing the progress of sophomore quarterback Conner Weigman, who will be battling with senior Max Johnson for the starting postion as soon as Fall camp starts on Aug. 2.

Here is everything Jimbo Fisher had to say during his interview with Dennis Dodd.
