Texas A&M WR Micah Tease reportedly arrested on felony drug related charge

It has been reported that Texas A&M freshman wide receiver Micah Tease was arrested on felony drug charges on Friday evening

It has been reported that Texas A&M freshman wide receiver Micah Tease was arrested on drug-related charges on Friday, Sept. 1, which includes a second-degree felony charge.

Tease was officially charged with possession of four to 400 grams of a controlled substance (edibles), a second-degree felony charge, which could result in a 20-year prison sentence and a $10,000 fine. Tease was also charged with possession of marijuana, which is a more lenient Class B misdemeanor charge.

According to a Texas A&M Athletic Department spokesperson, Tease has been suspended indefinitely and will likely miss the Aggie’s season opener against New Mexico on Saturday night. Posting a $13,000 bond, Tease was released just hours after his arrest on Friday night.

As The Eagle reporter Travis Brown importantly noted, Texas A&M University Police, who arrested Micah Tease, recently stated that they would cease arrests related to minor marijuana possession charges in the realm of two ounces or less; however, the felony controlled substance charge was completely separate.

Tease committed to Texas A&M back in late December, coming in as a four-star prospect in the 2023 class, positioned as the 5th-ranked Athlete and the 3rd-ranked player in Oklahoma, according to 247Sports composite.

247Sports ranks Texas A&M as one of the 10 most talented teams in college football

According to 247Sports’ Team Talent Composite, Texas A&M is ranked as one of the Top 10 most talented teams in the country

Week one of the 2023 college football season begins on Thursday night, as Florida hits the road to face Utah for their highly anticipated rematch after the then Anthony Richardson-led Gators downed the Utes in prime time last season, while Texas A&M is set to embark on their pivotal 2023 rebound campaign, starting against New Mexico inside Kyle Field on Saturday night.

From a talent perspective, the Aggies are one of the richest programs in the country, as a bulk of their historic 2022 recruiting class will return for the respective sophomore seasons after enduring a “baptism by fire” roller-coaster ride in 2022 led by the return of starting quarterback Conner Weigman, and star wide receiver Evan Stewart.

Not to discount the Aggies’ 2023 recruiting class, where three notable freshmen such as offensive tackle Chase Bisontis, running back Reuben Owens, and cornerback Jayvon Thomas, are slated to receive a ton of snaps in 2023, while Thomas may have solidified the starting spot opposite junior cornerback Tyreek Chappell.

Experience-wise, several key veterans, including Ainias Smith (WR), Demani Richardson (S), McKinnley Jackson (DL), and Layden Robinson (OG), return as proven leaders on the field, especially in the locker room where such voices consistently lacked last season.

On Wednesday, 247Sports revealed their Top 10 program list based on their Team Talent Composite rankings model, compiling the most talented programs in the country based on a points scale, and described as:

“A metric that examines and ranks every FBS team — accounting for transfers, dismissals and other early departures — based on how their players were rated in high school.”

Four current SEC programs, including Texas A&M, and two future members unsurprisingly made the list, while four other blue blood programs finished out the rankings. Where did the Aggies land? Here are the complete Top 10 rankings.

Everything Aggies Head Coach Jimbo Fisher said during his interview with CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd

Sporting his usual upbeat candor, Texas A&M Head coach Jimbo Fisher previewed the Aggies 2023 season with CBS Sports’s Dennis Dodd.

Texas A&M’s 2023 football season, one of the more anticipated campaigns after enduring one of the worst seasons in program history in 2022 (5-7, 2-6 SEC), is now only 40 days away. After SEC Media Days wrapped up last Friday, Head coach Jimbo Fisher made the interview rounds to give us a sneak preview of what lies ahead.

Entering Fisher’s sixth season with the program, 2022 has come and gone, but until vastly different results on the field come to fruition, preseason talking points are as useless as a glass hammer.

Last week, Fisher’s time at the podium during SEC Media Days witnessed a man on a mission focused on rebuilding A&M’s national image, and even though he continued to avoid directly stating if new offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino this season, those of us covering the team and a bulk of the fanbase know that Petrino was hired to revamp the offense, and yes, call plays.

In one of his final interviews last week, Fisher sat down with CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd in the most in-depth back and forth this offseason, focusing on the state of the program from now on, Bobby Petrino’s positive effect on the team, and recruiting, and of course, discussing the progress of sophomore quarterback Conner Weigman, who will be battling with senior Max Johnson for the starting postion as soon as Fall camp starts on Aug. 2.

Here is everything Jimbo Fisher had to say during his interview with Dennis Dodd.

TexAgs’ Billy Liucci previews Texas A&M’s 2023 CFB season on ‘That SEC Podcast’

On the third day of the 2023 SEC Media Days, TexAgs’ Billy Liucci appeared on “That SEC Podcast” to preview the Aggies’ 2023 CFB Season

The 2023 college football season is just 44 days away, as Texas A&M will kick off their pivotal campaign against New Mexico inside what should be a packed Kyle Field on Saturday, Sept. 2

This week, the 2023 SEC Media Days in Nashville, Tennessee, have taken over the airwaves as Aggies Head Coach Jimbo Fisher took the podium on Monday to preview the upcoming season while continuing to keep certain aspects of the team under wraps, providing plenty of fodder for many in media to utilize for the next two months.

The trio of players who represented the Maroon and White includes wide receiver Ainias Smith, defensive tackle McKinnley Jackson, and defensive end Fadil Diggs, whose memorable style and swagger painted a bright picture of what will hopefully be a successful rebound as their highly disappointing 5-7 2022 season.

As I could not make the trip to Nashville this week, TexAgs took the coverage reigns, as the consistently excellent trio of Billy Liucci, David Nuńo, and Olin Buchanan provided a litany of interviews and analysis during the week’s entirety.

On Wednesday, Liucci, who is part owner and Executive Editor for the site, sat down with the guys from “That SEC Podcast,” who gave his preview of Texas A&M’s crucial upcoming football season while providing a sneak peek into the Aug. 8 premiere of Netflix’s “Untold: Johnny Manziel” documentary.
