2024 4-Star Safety Jordan Pride reaffirms his commitment to Texas A&M

While several 2024 prospects have de-committed from Texas A&M, four-star safety Jordan Pride is reportedly all-in with the Maroon & White.

While bad news regarding the transfer portal and de-commitments have hampered new Texas A&M coach Mike Elko’s first entire month on the job, the former Duke HC has already landed his first commitment through the portal. As of this week, multiple 2024 commits have reaffirmed their commitment to the program, including four-star safety Jordan Pride.

Pride, who committed to then-head coach Jimbo Fisher on May 9, is currently positioned as the 13th-ranked safety and 22nd-ranked player in Florida while recently taking an official visit to College Station back on Sept. 22. On Monday, Pride, through a post on X, stated his recruitment is shut down after taking his first visit to meet Mike Elko last weekend.

Amid all the chaos surrounding the wave of Aggie de-commitments in the last week, current interim head coach Elijah Robinon’s future departure to become Syracuses’ new defensive coordinator next season has led to at least one former A&M commit, 2024 4-star WR Jaylen Hornsby to flip to the Orange, causing some to question if Robinson’s change of scenery will persuade recruits and members of the roster to follow him to New Jersey.

However, during last week’s press conference, Robinson noted that he would “not encourage” any A&M-affiliated prospect/player during his transition.

“I will not encourage anyone. Those guys have to make the decision to go into the portal on their own. I will not at any point say, ‘Come with me.’ I have too much respect for the program and the university.”

For Jordan Pride, his decision to make Texas A&M his home for the next three to four years is fantastic news for Elko and his staff, as a new and hopefully bright future for Aggie Football is on the horizon.

2024 4-Star RB out of Tampa (FL) is set to visit Texas A&M this weekend

After cancelling his visit to Michigan State, 2024 4-star RB Anthony Carrie will instead take a trip to College Station this weekend.

New Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko knows that to mold the Aggies’ roster in his image, attrition through the evergrowing transfer portal and de-commits from the 2024 recruiting class are inevitable.

Focusing on the recruiting trail, several intriguing options remain in the 2024 cycle, including four-star running back Anthony Carrie, who has been a favorite to land with Michigan State for quite some time.

However, while the Spartans have also made a coaching change in the form of former Oregon State HC Jonathan Smith, the rebuild is in order, leading to a report from On3, first reported from AggiesToday, that Carrie has canceled his upcoming visit to Michigan State and will instead visit Elko and his staff in College Station this coming weekend.

According to 247Sports Composite, Carrie is currently positioned as the 19th-ranked running back and the 40th-ranked player in Florida. He is coming off his productive 2023 senior season at Carrollwood Day, recording 855 yards and ten touchdowns on the ground.

If Anthony Carrie were to commit to the Aggies, he would be the first running back commit in A&M’s 2024 recruiting class.

Source: Texas A&M is still in contact with 2024 5-Star QB and Florida commit

It has been reported that Texas A&M HC Mike Elko and his staff are still in contact with 2024 5-Star QB and Florida commit DJ Lagway.

It has been reported by AggiesToday and TexAgs that Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko and his staff, including new offensive coordinator Collin Klein, are back in contact with 2024 five-star quarterback DJ Lagway, who is currently committed to Florida.

Out of Willis, Texas, DJ Lagway is by far the most talented young signal caller in the 2024 cycle, recently setting a Texas 6A single-season record during the 2023 season, completing 289/393 (72%) for 4.605 yards, 59 touchdowns and just eight interceptions through the air. on the ground, he recorded 953 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns on 100 carries.

Texas A&M, under then-head coach Jimbo Fisher, had been in constant contact with Lagway for several years, making significant traction during the 2022 offseason during his three campus visits. However, after finishing 5-7 during the 2022 season, interest reportedly fell off, leading the Florida Gators, who hold a rich quarterback history, to swoop in to gain Lagway’s early commitment last December.

However, Florida’s future under head coach Billy Napier has been middling, to say the least, finishing 5-7 in 2023 just a year after finishing 6-7, with equal 3-5 finishes in SEC play. With a new regime in place, Mike Elko knows that to restore confidence in the program, landing a top-tier quarterback post-Conner Weigman for the future is an absolute must.

While the Aggies still have two very talented quarterbacks, Miles O’Neil and Anthony Maddox, committed within the 2024 cycle, Maddox’s recent flirtation with Mississippi State and new head coach Jeff Lebby, as well as Ole Miss could result in a potential flip, while O’Neill remains locked in with the program.

According to 247Sports Composite, Lagway is positioned as the 3rd-ranked quarterback in the class and the 4th-ranked player in Texas.

2024 3-Star WR Debron Gatling has de-committed from Texas A&M

Joining several other former Texas A&M WR commits, 2024 3-star WR Debron Gatling has de-committed from the program as of Monday.

The Mike Elko era for Texas A&M Football is fast underway. While Aggie fans are excited about a much-needed change at the helm, this transition was almost going to come with attrition through the transfer portal and the 2024 recruiting class.

The Aggies are now down to just one wide receiver signee in the 2024 cycle after Sunday’s news that four-star WR Jaylan Hornsby had flipped his commitment to Syracuse, as fellow three-star receiver Debron Gatling announced his de-commitment from the Maroon & White nearly a year after committing to the program.

Texas A&M’s offense will look much different in 2024 under new OC Collin Klein, as the former Heisman Trophy finalist has been one of the hotter coaching names in the last couple of seasons and will have full control over the offensive game plan as we advance.

Did this hire impact Gatling’s decision? Who knows, but at the same time, it’s now urgent for Elko and his staff to add at least two more wide receivers from the portal and possibly hope to flip a commit or two this month in the process.

2024 three-star wide receiver Earnest Campbell is now the lone receiver in the cycle, as Campbell is coming off of a visit to College Station this weekend, reaffirming his commitment to the program.

2024 4-Star WR and former Aggie commit has committed to Colorado

2024 4-star wide receiver Drelon Miller, who recently de-committed from Texas A&M, is heading to Colorado under head coach Deion Sanders.

The relationship between 2024 four-star WR Drelon Miller and Texas A&M has come to a close, for now at least, as the talented receiver will take his talent to Boulder, Colorado, and exciting head coach Deion Sanders, committing to the Buffaloes on Sunday afternoon.

After de-committing from the Aggies back on Oct. 17, now-former head coach Jimbo Fisher, who recruited him, was fired just one month later, leading to several recruits questioning their futures with the Maroon & White.

After his announcement, many of us in the media predicted that the LSU Tigers had momentum after the offensive outburst during the 2023 season. Still, in today’s age of college football recruiting, Sander’s ever-growing influence on some top playmakers in the high school ranks should never be discounted moving forward.

According to 247Sports, Miller is currently positioned as the 14th-ranked wide receiver and the 12th-ranked player in Texas, and due to his incredible versatility, similar to Aggie WR Ainias Smith, his recruiting profile has steadily grown, and every Power 5 program began to realize his true potential.

As we’ve seen in the age of the transfer portal, nothing is set in stone, but if Miller makes an immediate impact as soon as next season, it’s hard to see him looking for a change of scenery.

2024 4-Star WR Jaylan Hornsby has flipped to Syracuse

Texas A&M has lost yet another 2024 commit as 4-Star WR Jaylan Hornsby has flipped to Syracuse as of Sunday afternoon.

The Mike Elko era for Texas A&M Football is fast underway. While Aggie fans are excited about a much-needed change at the helm, this transition was almost going to come with attrition through the transfer portal and the 2024 recruiting class.

Already losing multiple prospects in the cycle, 2024 four-star wide receiver Jaylan Hornsby, who committed to the Aggies this summer, has flipped his Aggie pledge to the Syracuse Orange, as he becomes the first recruit to join current interim head coach Elijah Robinson, who is set to take over as Syracuse’s defensive coordinator immediately after A&M’s Dec. 27 bowl game.

After Elko hired Collin Klein as the Aggies’ new offensive coordinator, an emphasis on speed in the receiving core likely hindered Hornsby’s future outlook with the program, as he is more an outside X possession prospect and is a much better fit in the ACC. Also, Hornsby is from New Jersey, so this is simply a no-brainer if staying close to home becomes a priority.

According to 247Sports, Hornsby is the 83rd-ranked player in the 2024 class and the 10th-ranked player in New Jersey. Three-star wide receivers Earnest Campbell and Debron Gatling remain the only committed WR prospects in Texas A&M’s 2024 class.

Former 2024 4-Star DL and Aggie commit has found a new home

2024 4-star DL and former Aggie commit Gabriel Reliford has reportedly committed to LSU after recently de-committing from Texas A&M.

In one of the more unsurprising turns of events, one of Texas A&M’s recent commits has found a new collegiate home as 2024 four-star defensive lineman Gabriel Reliford, a native of Louisiana, has committed to the LSU Tigers after de-committing from Texas A&M earlier this week.

While some will blame Elijah Robinson’s future departure to Syracuse as the primary reason for transfer portal and recruiting losses, new head football coach Mike Elko’s transition into the program would always result in some roster attrition.

As one of the rising players in the 2024 cycle, Reliford is currently positioned as the 30th-ranked Edge and the 12th-ranked player in Louisiana. Due to his rapid ascendance, it apparently took some time for LSU to realize just how dominant Reliford had been during his high school career at Evangel Christian Academy.

Credit goes to the Aggies and former head coach Jimbo Fisher for acknowledging Reliford’s versatile skill set before nearly everyone else, including LSU. However, while the losses sting, you can’t blame a hometown kid for wanting to play for his hometown team.

Five-star DL Dominick McKinley and four-star DL Dealyn Evans remain the only defensive line commits in A&M’s 2024 recruiting class.

2024 4-Star QB and Aggie commit Miles O’Neill continues to show of his incredible arm talent

Watch 2024 4-star QB and Aggie commit Miles O’Neill once again show off his arm strength!

The future at the quarterback position in the age of the transfer portal is always fluid for nearly every Power 5 college football program, and for Texas A&M, starting QB Conner Weigman is currently the position’s star representative. Still, the future may lie with 2024 four-star QB and A&M commit Miles O’Neill, based on what we’ve witnessed thus far.

Evaluating quarterbacks year after year is a struggle in accurately projecting future success. Still, suppose a player consistently displays the most critical traits ranging from arm strength, accuracy, touch, and ability to make plays out of structure. In that case, it’s up to every coaching staff lucky enough to land a premier signal caller to aid their development.

O’Neill, a senior at the Hun School in Princeton, New Jersey, committed to Texas A&M and then-head coach Jimbo Fisher in mid-June and has been rising in the recruiting rankings ever since. Possessing all the traits above, O’Neill’s elastic arm has continuously wowed every Aggie fan and media member alike, most recently displayed during a workout, as seen in the video below.

Yes, it’s O’Neill’s arm strength that sticks out at first view, but how softly the ball dropped into his receiver grasp, coupled with his release, shows a player who has continued to grow and looks like a perfect fit in new Texas A&M offensive coordinator Colin Klein’s scheme once he steps on campus next season and begins his development journey.

According to 247Sports Composite, Miles O’Neill is the 28th-ranked quarterback in the 2024 cycle and the 8th-ranked player out of New Jersey.

Where does Texas A&M land in Rival’s Top 2024 Offensive line classes?

Where does Texas A&M’ 2024 offensive line class rank among the Top 5 classes in the 2024 recruiting cycle?

With all the changes being made amid new Texas A&M Football head coach Mike Elko, the hiring of Adam Cushing as the program’s new offensive line could have a significant impact on the future recruiting, while a bulk of the Aggies’ 2024 offensive line class is already in the process of meeting the staff, and hopefully solidifying their futures in College Station.

While several issues kept the Aggies from achieving their goals this season, eventually leading to the firing of now-former head coach Jimbo Fisher, the poor play in the trenches, especially in pass protection, led to two A&M quarterbacks to sustain season-ending injuries while allowing 28 sacks, and one the highest pressure rates in the country.

With star quarterback Conner Weigman set to return next season, Elko knows that outside of focusing on scoring points, Weigman will need to be protected at all costs to find any consistency on offense.Get more USC news, analysis, and opinions on TrojansWire.

Who has the Aggies lost in the transfer portal on the OL so far? As of now, freshman right tackle Chase Bisontis remains the only offensive lineman to enter his name, while nearly every starter outside of senior right guard Layden Robinson is set to return in 2024. Now, refocusing on the Aggies’ 2024 OL class, credit to Jimbo Fisher for landing some of the top OL prospects in the country, which already rank among the Top 5 hauls in the 2024 cycle.

Where do the Aggies stand among the rest of the Power 5? Here is Rivals’ current Top 5 Offensive line class in the 2024 recruiting class.

2024 5-Star DL and Aggie commit Dominick McKinley is set to take an official visit to Texas A&M

Amid all the transfer portal chaos, Texas A&M will reportedly host 2024 5-star DL and Aggie commit Dominick McKinley this weekend.

While some fans are new to the head coach transition period encompassing semi-drastic change to the roster, new Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko is one of many to endure the wrath of the transfer portal, which he’ll also have to use to put a curb any more future losses.

If you’re keeping track, eleven Aggies have now entered the portal, including several on the defensive line, headlined by Walter Nolen and Fadil Diggs, who announced their portal intentions on Wednesday afternoon.

Focusing on the future, 2024 five-star defensive lineman Dominick McKinley remains committed to the Aggies despite the firing of former head coach Jimbo Fisher, combined with beloved DL coach Elijah Robinson departing for Syracuse as soon as next month.

While Robinson’s exit has likely impacted McKinley’s decision-making, Mike Elko’s defensive background, including serving as A&M’s defensive coordinator for four years under Fisher, certainly helps, while new D-line coach Sean Spencer has an extensive recruiting background, including helping Penn State land future Hall of Fame linebacker Micah Parsons.

According to 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong, McKinley is set to take an official visit to College Station this weekend after committing to the Aggies back on Sept. 1, possibly securing his commitment after meeting with both Elko and Spener for an extended period to discuss how he can make an immediate impact on the defensive line as soon as the 2024 season.

While things may look dreary among all the transfer portal-related chaos, good news is on the horizon.
