We are still unsure of the status of Saturday’s match-up between Michigan State and Maryland, but we did get an update on the Terps’ on Monday.

Emily Giambalvo, who covers Maryland athletics for The Washington Post, reported some welcoming news on Monday morning that Maryland has moved out of the hotel they had been quarantining in since Wednesday. However, the Terps didn’t return to practice on Monday.

As you probably know by now, Maryland Football had to shut down all team activities last week after a number of players tested positive for COVID-19. The outbreak resulted in the Terps having to cancel their match-up with Ohio State, and has left many wondering if this Saturday’s game against MSU will take place or not.

The news from Giambalvo on Monday is a relatively positive sign for this week’s game, but we’ll still have to monitor where things stand in the next few days. If Maryland is still unable to practice on Tuesday or Wednesday, then odds are this game will not take place on Saturday.

Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. EST in College Park, Md. on Saturday. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.

Alabama QB Taulia Togovailoa makes transfer decision

Yesterday, Alabama football QB Taulia Tagovailoa announced on Twitter where he’ll attend in the fall. Details here

Alabama sophomore quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa, the younger brother of Crimson Tide legend Tua, has decided to transfer to Maryland.

Tagovailoa entered the transfer portal on May 8, per Matt Zenitz of AL.com, and posted his official statement declaring his signing with the Terps on Twitter yesterday.

Alabama still looks to be in good hands, though, with Mac Jones returning as a red-shirt junior. He was chosen to take the field over Taulia when his brother went down with the hip injury last season.

Why Maryland, though? The Terps went 3-9 last season, 1-8 in the Big 10, but head coach Michael Locksley spent three years under Nick Saban at Alabama before taking the Maryland job in 2018. It seems he still has some connections in Tuscaloosa.

Four-star Maryland DE Demeioun Robinson makes commitment

The Georgia Bulldogs, Maryland Terrapins, and more made the list of top schools for four-star DE Demeioun Robinson, who just committed.

The Georgia Bulldogs made the list of top schools for four-star DE Demeioun Robinson. Robinson is a 2021 outside linebacker/defensive end, who plays high school football at Quince Orchard High School. Robinson is from Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Today, he committed to the Maryland Terrapins:

Robinson selected Maryland from his original top schools list of: UGA, UVA, Georgia Tech, South Carolina, Tennessee, Michigan, Nebraska, Maryland, Penn State, LSU, Ohio State, Kentucky, and Texas A&M.

Maryland is getting a good one in Robinson, but where will his talented four-star teammate Marcus Bradley go? Bradley has gotten an offer from Georgia, Ohio State, and more.

UGA currently has a few 2021 commits, but has been offering scholarships to many more players in the class of 2021. For now, Kirby Smart is sitting tight and watching film on 2021 recruits, while preparing for the 2020 college football season.
