TCU at Baylor odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s TCU at Baylor odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The TCU Horned Frogs (12-1, 1-0 Big 12) visit Waco to take on the 16th-ranked and perennial national title contender Baylor Bears (10-3, 0-1) Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET (ESPN2). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the TCU vs. Baylor odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Despite the Bears being ranked No. 16, coach Jamie Dixon’s Horned Frogs are the better team.

While Baylor had an early December victory over current No. 12 Gonzaga (64-63), recent games have been more of a struggle. The Bears lost their Big 12 opener as 1.5-point road favorites 77-62 at Iowa State Saturday. Coach Scott Drew’s Bears need to get things figured out quickly if they hope to threaten Kansas for the Big 12 title or if they hope to make another tournament run.

TCU at Baylor picks and predictions

Prediction

Baylor 80, TCU 65

Moneyline

PASS.

Coach Dixon has the Horned Frogs (+200) playing inspired basketball — perhaps inspired by their football team.

Baylor (-280) better be inspired after suffering the 15-point loss to Iowa State. The Bears don’t want to open 0-2 in Big 12 play.

They should win this game, especially at home, but the ML price of -280 isn’t worth the risk as it will cost 2.8 times the potential return. However, I can see adding it to a parlay wager.

Against the spread

BET BAYLOR -6.5 (-105).

Baylor should be focused. Expect the Bears to come out hot in this game. TCU will get caught up in the tide and could get eaten alive by Baylor in this one. BAYLOR -6.5 (-105) is my FAVORITE PLAY in this Big 12 contest.

I also like BAYLOR -3.5 (-110) in the 1ST HALF.

Over/Under

BET OVER 143.5 (-115)

Both teams have offenses which can score. Baylor will attempt to push the pace of this game and TCU will be forced to play keep up. As the Bears pull away, the Horned Frogs will hit quicker shots and draw this game into a high-scoring affair.

Fiesta Bowl: TCU vs. Michigan odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s TCU vs. Michigan Fiesta Bowl odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The No. 4 TCU Horned Frogs (12-1) will square off against the No. 2 Michigan Wolverines (13-0) in the Fiesta Bowl at State Farm Stadium on Saturday in the College Football Playoff semifinals. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the TCU vs. Michigan odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Rankings courtesy of AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports

The Horned Frogs suffered a 31-28 overtime loss to Kansas State in the Big 12 Championship game as they failed to cover as 1-point underdogs. Despite the loss, TCU finished as the No. 3 ranked team in the College Football Playoff Rankings. TCU boasts the 6th-best scoring offense in the nation (40.3 points per game) while its defense ranks 56th, allowing 25.0 PPG.

The Wolverines defeated Purdue 43-22 in the Big Ten Championship game, covering as 16-point favorites. Michigan finished the regular season with the 7th-best scoring offense (40.1 points per game) and the 5th-best defense (13.4 PPG).

  • Against the spread (ATS): TCU +7.5 (-111) | Michigan -7.5 (-109)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 58 (O: -113 | U: -107)

TCU vs. Michigan picks and predictions

Prediction

Michigan 31, TCU 21

Moneyline

Even with the Wolverines expected to come away with the win on Saturday, AVOID the moneyline in this game. Taking Michigan straight up isn’t recommended at the current odds as the return isn’t worth the risk.

Against the spread

Despite the Wolverines not having star RB Blake Corum available (knee surgery), MICHIGAN -7.5 (-109) is still an enticing bet. The Wolverines will lean on their rushing attack (243.0 yards per game) and stout defense to defeat the Horned Frogs on Saturday.

Michigan is 5-1-1 ATS in its last 7 games following a win. The Wolverines are also 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games following an ATS win.

Over/Under

UNDER 58 (-107) is where I’m heading with Michigan having 1 of the best defenses in the country. The Wolverines held Ohio State’s No. 2-ranked offense (44.5 PPG) to 23 points. Michigan allowed less than 2 TDs per game in the regular season and they’ll want to control the time of possession so they can advance to play for the National Championship.

TCU hit the Under in 4 of its last 5 games while Michigan has gone Under in 6 of its last 10 games.

Big 12 Championship: Kansas State vs. TCU odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Kansas State vs. TCU odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The No. 10 Kansas State Wildcats (9-3, 7-2 Big 12) will face the No. 3 TCU Horned Frogs (12-0, 9-0) in the Big 12 Championship on Saturday at AT&T Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for noon ET (ABC). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Kansas State vs. TCU odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Ranking courtesy of AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY sports.

The Wildcats secured a 47-27 victory over Kansas last week to cover as 11.5-point favorites at home. After a disappointing loss to Texas on Nov. 5, Kansas State has strung together 3 straight conference wins.

The Horned Frogs cruised to a 62-14 win over Iowa State last week to easily cover as 9.5-point favorites at home. TCU boasts the No. 3 spot in the College Football Playoff Rankings.

Kansas State vs. TCU picks and predictions

Prediction

TCU 38, Kansas State 31

Moneyline

I’ll take TCU (-135) to secure the win and cement its spot in the playoffs. The Horned Frogs defeated the Wildcats 38-28 on Oct. 22, but Kansas State starting QB Adrian Martinez left the game early with a leg injury.

Against the spread

TCU -2.5 (-112) is an intriguing wager in this game at the current odds. The Horned Frogs have an electric offense that should have no issues moving the ball on the Wildcats.

The Horned Frogs are 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 games following an ATS win and they are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall. TCU also went 6-2-1 ATS against conference opponents this season.

Over/Under

Considering that it’s a Big 12 showdown on Saturday, OVER 62 (-108) is an enticing bet to take. Kansas State averages 33.4 points per game (34th in the nation) while TCU averages 41.3 points per game (3rd in the nation).

Providence at TCU odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Providence at TCU odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Providence Friars (5-2) and the TCU Horned Frogs (5-1) meet Wednesday at Ed and Mae Schollmaier Arena in Fort Worth. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET (Big 12 Network/ESPN+). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Providence vs. TCU odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

The Friars have bounced back from a pair of neutral-floor losses against Miami and Saint Louis by posting wins over Merrimack (71-57 last Wednesday) and Columbia (78-64 Saturday). While Providence has a solid overall record, its best win so far might be over Rider, and that’s not terribly impressive.

The Horned Frogs were very successful on a neutral floor, picking up victories over Cal (59-48 Friday) and Iowa (79-66 Saturday). TCU started off slow, winning on a tip-in at the buzzer against Arkansas-Pine Bluff in its opener on Nov. 7, and it also fell against Northwestern State on Nov. 14. However, it has ticked off 3 straight wins and appears to finally be rounding into form. The Frogs are 2-1 ATS in the previous 3 outings.

Providence at TCU picks and predictions

Prediction

TCU 69, Providence 66

Moneyline

There was no moneyline at the time of publishing.

Against the spread

PROVIDENCE +6.5 (-110) is the surprising play here, catching more than 3 buckets.

It really has nothing to do with the play of the Friars, as they have been struggling overall, but TCU could be without 2 starters, F Emanuel Miller (back) and G Micah Peavy (knee). Miller is averaging 13.3 PPG with 5.8 RPG and 2.0 APG, and he is the team’s leader from behind the arc at 37.3%. Peavy is the team’s 3rd-leading scorer with 9.7 PPG with 3.8 RPG, 1.8 APG and 1.2 SPG.

Over/Under

UNDER 135.5 (-110) is the lean, and worth a half-unit play.

The injury concerns for the Horned Frogs and the shooting struggles of the Friars have the arrow pointing to the Under in this one.

The Under has cashed in 4 straight for Providence while going 3-1 in the past 4 games for TCU.

Iowa State at TCU odds, picks, and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’sIowa State at TCU odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Iowa State Cyclones (4-7, 1-7 Big 12) are in Forth Worth to take on the No. 4 TCU Horned Frogs (11-0, 8-0) Saturday. Kickoff from Amon G. Carter Stadium is at 4 p.m. ET (FOX). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Iowa State vs. TCU odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Rankings courtesy of the AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY sports.

TCU, despite already having a berth in the Big 12 title game clinched, comes into this game with far more at stake. A win in this game and a win next week will lock up a playoff berth for a Horned Frogs team that was 28-1 before the season began to win the conference. Coach Sonny Dykes has this team buy into a mission and QB Max Duggan is leading the charge.

Duggan and RB Kendre Miller have continued to pace a team with a fighting instinct to continually come back from deficits to pull out improbable victories. This continued Saturday with a 22-second field goal drill at the end of regulation to pick up a 29-28 victory over Baylor. What looked frantic from afar was all part of a practiced plan for TCU. It made for exciting football for sure.

Iowa State has reached heights it has never known under coach Matt Campbell. While the defense is still good this season (16.5 points allowed per game, 8th nationally), the offense has struggled without last year’s stars, QB Brock Purdy and RB Breece Hall. The duo was drafted into the NFL after the 2021 season.

Averaging 20.7 points per game, the Cyclones will have a challenging time keeping up with TCU who has averaged 39.5 points overall.

Iowa State at TCU picks and predictions

Prediction

TCU 24, Iowa State 20

Moneyline

PASS.

TCU (-390) is not worth the juice, despite the fact that it needs this game and will win. Spending almost 4 times your potential profit is not good value on a standalone wager, but this is a solid play to add to a parlay.

Against the spread

BET IOWA STATE +9.5 (-105).

This is just too many points in a game that will not have a lot of scoring involved.

TCU will win, but with the type of defense the Cyclones play, I do not see a large score coming from either side. Iowa State will continue to use the run game and force TCU to have fewer drives and therefore, fewer chances to score.

I do not see this game getting out of hand and I’ll take 9.5 points with the underdog. IOWA STATE +9.5 (-105) is my FAVORITE PLAY.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 47 (-107).

Iowa State can muddy up games with the best of them and are 2-9 to the Under; TCU games are only 6-5 to the Over.

Iowa State will slow this game to a snail’s pace, and it will not allow TCU will Duggan and Miller to run up points. Iowa State plays good run defense while the Horned Frogs want to use Miller to get through this game and onto the Big 12 title game. This will be a quick one. A lot of rushing and not a lot of points are in play in Fort Worth.

TCU at Baylor odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s TCU at Baylor odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The No. 4 TCU Horned Frogs (10-0, 7-0 Big 12) will travel to Waco to battle the Baylor Bears (6-4, 4-3) Saturday at noon ET (FOX). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the TCU vs. Baylor odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Ratings courtesy of AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY sports

Max Duggan leads the Horned Frogs into Waco to battle it out with defending Big 12 champion Baylor Bears. In the 1st year under coach Sonny Dykes, TCU has returned to and surpassed any glory the team has had in many decades. With an undefeated mark, TCU looks to continue its march to the playoffs.

Baylor still has a chance to get to the conference championship game. After an ugly 31-3 loss to Kansas State last Saturday, the Bears must win this game and hope a lot of pieces fall their way.

Coach Dave Aranda has gotten Baylor over the hump in the Big 12 and is trying to build a perennial title contender. While 2022 might not be the next championship for Baylor, a win here could set the team up heading into 2023.

TCU at Baylor picks and predictions

Prediction

TCU 36, Baylor 24

Moneyline

PASS.

If Baylor were going to win, the +115 would be excellent value. But with the fact TCU -135 should be the outright winner, I would rather take the -2.5 and save some money.

Against the spread

BET TCU -2.5 (-113).

The undefeated Horned Frogs, fresh off a 17-10 win at Texas, are on a mission. Duggan will continue to flourish in Dykes’ offense and the Horned Frogs will take care of the Bears without the spread coming into play.

TCU is ranked 4th in the College Football Playoff rankings and do not want a repeat of 2014 when they were ranked 3, beat Iowa State 55-3 and were dropped to 6th by the committee. TCU will leave no doubt in this game who is better. TCU -2.5 (-113) is my favorite play.

Over/Under

BET OVER 57 (-111).

Even though TCU held Texas to 3 points for most of the game Saturday, the defense, normally an elite unit under Gary Patterson, is not the major force for the Horned Frogs.

Before Saturday, in 6 conference games, TCU has allowed an average of 29.6 points per game while scoring an average of 41.5 points. This will be another game where they allow some points to be scored by Baylor. The total is not overly aggressive and is the right number for this game. Even so, I think the Over hits more often then the Under. So, give me the Over 57 (-111).

TCU at Texas odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s TCU at Texas odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The No. 4 TCU Horned Frogs (9-0, 6-0 Big 12) meet the No. 18 Texas Longhorns (6-3, 4-2) Saturday at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (ABC). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the TCU vs. Texas odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Rankings courtesy of the AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

The Horned Frogs — ranked 4th in the latest College Football Playoff rankings — posted a 34-24 win over Texas Tech last Saturday. TCU has covered 3 in a row, and it has a stellar 7-1-1 ATS overall this season. The Over is 6-2 in the last 8 games for the Horned Frogs, too.

The Longhorns sit at No. 18 in the CFP rankings after an impressive 34-27 win at Kansas State last week. It has 3 losses overall, but Texas has lost just 2 in regulation, and the average margin of defeat in the 3 setbacks is just 3.7 points per game.

TCU at Texas picks and predictions

Prediction

TCU 38, Texas 35

Moneyline

TCU (+205) is an amazing value at this price.

The Horned Frogs have it all on the table in front of them, as they simply need to keep winning to remain in contention for a CFP spot. As an unbeaten team in the Top 4, a chance to double up is too hard to pass up, even in a very hostile environment against a rival.

Against the spread

TCU +7 (-109) is a great play if you’re not feeling it straight up against Texas.

The Horned Frogs have won 6 of the past 8 meetings in this series, and it will have revenge on its mind after Texas topped TCU in Fort Worth last season by a 32-27 score. The stakes have never been higher for TCU in this series, and it’s hard to imagine Texas dropping TCU by more than 1 score, if at all.

Over/Under

OVER 64.5 (-113) is the lean here, although I like the moneyline and ATS markets much better.

While the Under is 5-2 in the previous 7 in this series, defensive play hasn’t exactly been a hallmark of either side this season.

The Over is 6-2 in the past 8 for TCU, while going 8-1 in its past 9 against teams with a winning overall record. The Over is 7-3 in the past 10 on the road for TCU, too.

The Under is 5-1 in the past 6 at home for Texas. However, it is posting a healthy 36.1 PPG to rank 23rd in the nation, and it allows 258.1 passing yards per game. TCU is strong in the pass game, and this is setting up as a good, old-fashioned high-scoring duel in the Lone Star State.

Texas Tech at TCU odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Texas Tech at TCU odds and lines, with college football expert picks and predictions.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders (4-4, 2-3 Big 12) and the 7th-ranked TCU Horned Frogs (8-0, 5-0) meet in a Saturday conference contest. Kickoff at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth is scheduled for noon ET (FOX). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Texas Tech vs. TCU odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Rankings courtesy of the AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Texas Tech lost at home to Baylor 45-17 last Saturday. The Red Raiders completed just 7 more passes (12) than they had intercepted (5) in losing for the 3rd time in their last 4 games. TTU’s 17 points marked its fewest in a home game against an unranked team since Dec. 5, 2020.

Texas Christian — No. 7 in the College Football Playoff rankings — won at West Virginia last Saturday to remain unbeaten. TCU covered a 7-point spread with a 41-31 victory. Senior QB Max Duggan threw for 341 yards and 3 scores and has now thrown for 3-or-more TDs in 6 of his last 7 games.

Texas Tech at TCU picks and predictions

Prediction

TCU 35, Texas Tech 24

Moneyline

TCU defeated TTU 52-31 last season (Oct. 9, 2021) and has won 3 straight games in the series.

The Frogs are fighting for CFP respect, and they have to have this game at home. But the -320 ML price carries too much of a premium. PASS.

Against the spread

Duggan leads the better passing attack in this matchup. And TCU also has more balance on offense.

The Raiders are looser in yielding more havoc plays, and that could well figure into some field-position tilt for an already more-talented Frogs roster.

TAKE TCU -8.5 (-108).

Over/Under

Both teams sport defensive success-rate analytics better than their surface points- and yardage-allowed figures. Texas Tech has done very well in keeping a lid on the end zone in red-zone stands.

BACK UNDER 69 (-108).

TCU at West Virginia odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s TCU at West Virginia odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The No. 7 TCU Horned Frogs (7-0, 4-0 Big 12) and the West Virginia Mountaineers (3-4, 1-3) play Saturday at Milan Puskar Stadium in Morgantown, W.Va. Kickoff is scheduled for noon ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the TCU vs. West Virginia odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Horned Frogs have not only won all 7 of their games, but TCU has posted a 5-1-1 ATS mark. That includes a 38-28 win last weekend against Kansas State, showing no hangover after an impressive 43-40 OT win over Oklahoma State in a battle for first place.

Things haven’t gone according to plan for the Mountaineers, winning just 3 of 7 games. However, West Virginia has managed a 2-1 SU/ATS mark at home, including a win against Baylor on Oct. 13 as a 3-point ‘dog.

TCU at West Virginia picks and predictions

Prediction

TCU 41, West Virginia 30

Moneyline

TCU (-280) is expected to be able to ease by West Virginia (+220) in this conference battle, but it won’t be a simple task. Morgantown is a risky place to play, and laying 3 times your potential return on a road team in a hostile environment is not a great idea.

PASS.

Against the spread

TCU -7.5 (-107) is worth playing, as it should be able to exploit a shaky West Virginia +7.5 (-115) defense to get it done. The Mountaineers allow 275.7 passing yards per game and 33.7 PPG, both of which are 117th overall in the country.

There is also risk because TCU is 0-6 ATS in the last 6 meetings, and 0-4 ATS in the last 4 visits to Morgantown.

No bettor of favorites enjoys laying 7 and a hook, but the Horned Frogs should be able to pull away a little in the 2nd half for a double-digit win.

Over/Under

OVER 68.5 (-107) is the lean here, as the trends point to the Over for both sides.

The Over is 5-1 in the last 6 games overall for TCU, while cashing an impressive 11-1 clip in the last 12 games following a SU win. The Over is 4-1 in TCU’s last 5 conference tilts, too.

For West Virginia, the Over is 4-1 in the last 5 after an SU loss, and 7-3 ATS in the last 10 following a cover.

Kansas State at TCU odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Kansas State at TCU odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Kansas State Wildcats (5-1, 3-0 Big 12) are set to face the TCU Horned Frogs (6-0, 3-0) on Saturday at Amon G. Carter Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET (FS1). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Kansas State vs. Horned Frogs odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Wildcats are riding a 3-game winning streak following a disappointing loss to Tulane 4 weeks ago. Kansas State has leaned on QB Adrian Martinez and RB Deuce Vaughn for the majority of its offensive production this season.

The Horned Frogs are the lone undefeated team in the Big 12 after defeating Oklahoma State in a thrilling overtime win last week. QB Max Duggan has been impressive for TCU this season with 1,591 passing yards and 16 passing TDs while also rushing for 261 yards and 4 TDs.

Kansas State enters the Big 12 showdown as the No. 17 ranked team while TCU is No. 8 in the AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Kansas State at TCU picks and predictions

Prediction

TCU 38, Kansas State 27

Moneyline

Despite TCU likely taking care of business at home, AVOID the moneyline in this game. The risk of the Horned Frogs losing isn’t worth the return for taking them straight up, though, I don’t mind them at -180 odds if you’re doing a parlay.

Against the spread

TCU -3.5 (-108) is where I’m going in this game as TCU is the better all-around team and they are playing at home. Duggan will create enough explosive plays to cover the spread to help the Horned Frogs remain unbeaten this season.

Over/Under

When it comes to Big 12 matchups, it’s hard not to take the Over in nearly every game. I’ll be siding with OVER 54.5 (-110) in this game as Kansas State and TCU are capable of scoring points in bunches when the offenses are rolling.

The Over is 10-1 in the last 11 games for the Horned Frogs following a straight-up win and they’ve hit the Over in 7 of their last 8 games against a team with a winning record.
