Seahawks fans are masterfully trolling this 49ers long snapper on Twitter

Now, their extremely online long snapper is busy tweeting through it.

The Seahawks missed out on the playoffs this year, but fans did get a pretty satisfying consolation prize at the end of the season. Their most bitter rivals, the 49ers advanced all the way to the Super Bowl only to blow a 10-point lead to Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs again and lose in overtime. For an encore, head coach Kyle Shanahan has fired their defensive coordinator Steve Wilks, who was the only assistant who actually did his job well the whole season, including the Super Bowl.

The meltdown even extends to their special teams unit, which got destroyed by Kansas City on Sunday night. Now, their extremely online long snapper is busy tweeting through it. Earlier this week he shared this sad post complaining about Seahawks fans talking trash to him, taking a swipe at Eagles fans along the way.

We’ll give you three guesses for what happened next, but odds are you’re only going to need one. Seattle, Philly and other random fans around the NFL are rallying to dunk on Pepper in his mentions. Here are some of our favorite replies.

Ranking the top 32 quarterbacks in the NFL going into 2024 offseason

Chiefs, 49ers have 5 former Dolphins in Super Bowl 58

Former Dolphins looking to win a Super Bowl on Sunday.

The Miami Dolphins were eliminated from the postseason following their 27-6 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs back in the divisional round, so it’s been some time since they last played football.

While Dolphins fans prepare for the offseason, there are a number of former Dolphins who are still playing for a Super Bowl championship that they can support.

This Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers are set to battle in a Super Bowl matchup, where one team will walk out with a Lombardi Trophy, and there are five former Dolphins on their rosters and practice squads.

Here’s a look at which players who once donned the aqua and orange will play in this one:

The NFL is entering the home stretch, and we are starting to get our first look at how the Pro Bowl is shaping up. As usual, there are some MSU players who are in great position to make the Pro Bowl, but they aren’t the guys we would normally suspect, like Kirk Cousins and Jack Conklin.

There are currently two former Michigan State football players leading their positions in Pro Bowl voting, and both are on special teams.

We take a look at both players below.

The San Francisco 49ers beat their rivals, the Seattle Seahawks, on Sunday, 28-16, and after the game, a Michigan State football alumnus and current member of the 49ers, Taybor Pepper, had a viral moment.

This season, Seahawks’ star DK Metcalf, has been getting attention for using American Sign Language to talk trash and celebrate his touchdown receptions. In Sunday’s game, Metcalf was ejected for a hit on 49ers player Fred Warner. After the game, Pepper, who is the long snapper for the 49ers, used ASL to talk trash of his own to Metcalf.

49ers officially sign LS Taybor Pepper, tender 1-year deal to WR Jauan Jennings

The #49ers made a couple of roster moves a couple weeks before the new league year starts.

The 49ers on Tuesday announced a pair of roster moves before the new league year. They officially signed long snapper Taybor Pepper to a three-year deal, and they tendered a one-year contract for exclusive rights free agent wide receiver Jauan Jennings.

Pepper announced his three-year agreement over the weekend. The deal will keep him in red and gold through the 2025 season. He originally joined the club during the 2020 season while they dealt with some long snapper issues. He hasn’t missed a game since he arrived.

Jennings is an ERFA, so the 49ers had to tender him a contract to keep him from going to the free agent market. Unlike with restricted free agency, Jennings can’t explore the market now that a contract has been tendered. He reached ERFA status instead of RFA status because he’s only accrued two pro seasons. His rookie year in 2020 was spent on the practice squad.

The 49ers have leaned hard on Jennings as the third WR over the last couple of seasons. In those two years he’s played in 32 games and posted 59 catches, 698 yards and six touchdowns. 38 of his 59 receptions have gone for either a first down or a touchdown.

Former MSU LS Taybor Pepper gets contract extension

Taybor Pepper has received a three-year contract extension:

Taybor Pepper has carved himself out a nice career in the NFL as a long snapper. Pepper was a member of one of the greatest runs in Michigan State history, playing with the team from 2012 to 2016.

Since his time with Michigan State, Pepper has been a reliable long snapper in the NFL. He got his first opportunity with the Green Bay Packers, but a foot injury cost him his season. Following recovery, he signed with the Miami Dolphins.

After his time in Miami, Pepper caught on with the San Francisco 49ers  and made a huge impact for the team in 2020. He first received a two-year contract extension, and now, he has been given a three-year contract extension:

49ers long snapper Taybor Pepper posted a hilarious, NSFW re-signing video

Everyone loves long snappers!

San Francisco 49ers long snapper Taybor Pepper found the most epic way to announce that he’ll be staying in the Bay Area on a new contract.

Pepper agreed to a three-year extension with the Niners on Saturday and shared a hilarious video sharing the news.

Long snappers don’t usually bring such pizzazz to revealing that they’ve re-signed with their team, but Pepper’s creative approach will surely win him over some new fans.

Although, Pepper got so excited to share the news of his 49ers return that he borrowed a scene from one of the most profane American films of the past decade.

NSFW language to follow.

That’s right, Pepper used The Wolf of Wall Street to help tell everyone that he’s indeed not going anywhere.

San Francisco fans will appreciate that one of the game’s most unsung positions being settled for their team, but anyone who loves a good laugh will appreciate Pepper’s willingness to have some fun with the news.

49ers to re-sign LS Taybor Pepper to 3-year deal

He’s back. @TayborSnapping and the #49ers have agreed to a 3-year deal.

The 49ers’ top offseason priority has been crossed off the list. San Francisco’s free agent long snapper Taybor Pepper on Saturday announced his agreement to stay with the 49ers.  NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported the deal is a three-year pact with $1.5 million guaranteed.

Pepper originally joined the 49ers in 2020 and ended a chaotic series of long snapper mishaps that featured one one player getting the yips, and another retiring after just one game. Since coming to San Francisco he hasn’t missed a game and the team’s special teams woes ended on that front. It’s worth noting the team has been to the NFC championship game in both full seasons Pepper was their long snapper.

With this deal done, the 49ers can move forward with other offseason priorities like getting Nick Bosa’s contract extension done.

The newly-signed long snapper told Niners Wire in a statement: “Sorry for the misleading video, but that’s show biz, baby.”

Blake Ferguson is carrying on an impressive long snapping legacy in Miami Gardens

He recently won a Twitter bracket for the best long snapper in the NFL.

Continuity is key in football, like any profession. Having consistency day-in and day-out is invaluable to an organization. It’s common, in these situations, that the most consistent factors on a team are the most hidden and, at times, anonymous.

The Miami Dolphins have had just three long snappers in the last 17 seasons. It’s been a remarkable run at a position that was historically made up of players who played other positions and picked up the skill and has now transitioned into an art.

In 2005, the Dolphins signed an undrafted free agent defensive end from BYU named John Denney. In a stellar 14-year career, Denney made a pair of Pro Bowls despite not recording a single sack because Denney was the Cal Ripken or “Ironman” as Miami’s long snapper, starting every single game in his NFL career. In 224 consecutive games, Denney was slinging it to the holders.

Denney retired in 2018, as a new coaching staff entered, which would have been his sixth coach as a professional. He’s a Miami legend, as he set the standard for consistency.

Following Denney, enters Taybor Pepper, a true long snapper, who takes pride in his craft and his social media account. An instant fan-favorite to the Dolphins faithful, Pepper was a bright spot in a rebuilding year that had spurts of fun football after a brutal first half of the 2019 campaign.

Pepper would find his way to the San Francisco 49ers where he’s played the last two seasons.

Pepper was appreciated, and with his exit, the door opened for Miami to do something rarely seen in the NFL. At the 2020 NFL draft, the Dolphins spent their sixth-round pick (No. 185) on LSU Tiger Blake Ferguson.

Ferguson has played in all 33 games during his professional career and has mastered the art of long snapping. You could say it’s in his DNA, as his brother, Reid, handles the same duties for the Buffalo Bills.

That’s actually the truth. The Fergusons’ father raised his sons with the intention of doing what they each do so well. Not only do they snap, they also podcast about it as well, and it’s a must-listen.

Perhaps the most important and impressive parts of Blake’s career is his philanthropy and influence related to type-1 diabetes. Ferguson is not only afflicted with the disease, but he’s also an ambassador for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

The 24-year-old is known to have a keen eye on social media, even jumping into threads and offering signed jerseys and numerous endeavors that make him a perfect fit in Miami, as the Dolphins are known to be one of the most charitable and philanthropic franchises in sports.

A national champion at LSU, Ferguson knows how to win both on and off the field, and he sure knows how to snap. It’s the hope of many, he challenges Denney’s streak and helps end diabetes.

You can help Ferguson by supporting his cause at JDRF.org.
