Ohio State football commit to visit Florida State

Ohio State football commit visiting Florida State #GoBucks

The Ohio State football 2025 recruiting class is looking to be a special one, but as of right now no pen has met any paper with any of these recruits. One highly sought after recruit who has given his verbal commitment to the Buckeyes is taking an intriguing visit down to Tallahassee to see the Florida State Seminoles live and in person against the Memphis Tigers this weekend.

Tarvos Alford is a four-star linebacker from the state of Florida, but has been committed to Ohio State since March. Many recruits are still taking visits, so this isn’t super alarming, but it should be noted that Tallahassee, Florida is much closer to his home than Columbus, Ohio.

The consensus top ten linebacker in the country also maybe more enamored with the Seminoles after seeing their depth at the position and realizing that see the field would come much easier and earlier at FSU. It isn’t time to press the panic button yet, but this visit will be something to watch.

Ohio State football commit Tarvos Alford called a ā€˜football savantā€™

This is high praise for the future Buckeye linebacker

When Ohio State football won out the recruiting battle for Florida 2025 linebacker [autotag]Tarvos Alford[/autotag], it as viewed as a massive recruiting win.

Not only did the Buckeyes land the nations No. 63 overall player and 7th linebacker according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, they may have landed one of the most cerebral players in the country.

In a social media post by Jon Santucci of the USA TODAY, he says that a coach has told him that Alford is ā€œa football savant.ā€ This is extremely high praise, especially for a player at his position. The ability to diagnose and attack are qualities you look for in a linebacker.

Itā€™s always seen as a good thing to have a coach on the field, and if the report is true, Ohio State is getting one in Alford.

Ohio State trending heavily to land 2025 linebacker who commits on Saturday

A BOOM is building for Saturday

It was a big question coming into 2025 Florida linebacker [autotag]Tarvos Alford[/autotag]ā€™s visit to Ohio State last week. Just ow serious was he considering the Buckeyes?

Short answer, very serious. On Wednesday a flood of 247Sports Crystal Ball picks went in for the 6-foot, 2-inch, 210-pound prospect to pick Ohio State when he announces his commitment on Saturday.

Itā€™s not just that the picks were made, it was who did them. Two of the national recruiting analysts, Steve Wiltfong and Brian Dohn, were among the predictions, along with Florida insider, Blake Alderman, and Buckeye insider, Bill Kurelic. It very much looks like Ohio State will add to its class the No. 63 overall prospect and 8th ranked linebacker according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings on Saturday.

Even if Alford does commit to the Buckeyes, theyā€™ll have to recruit him until signing day as he is still schedule to take official visits to other schools after making his verbal.

The Gators have an overwhelming lead on the competition for this Saturday visitor.

The 2025 class will have a handful of members despite the overwhelming number of the 2024 recruiting cycle, with four-star linebacker [autotag]Tarvos Alford[/autotag] out of Vero Beach (Florida) joining in on the festivities this weekend along with the rest of the gang. Gators offer more 2025 recruits, including this rising in-state ATH

Florida is starting to offer more of the nation’s top rising juniors and in-state ATH Tarvos Alford is the latest to pick one up from the Orange and Blue.

The final 1-Day Camp of the month took place at the University of Florida on Monday and a few recruits from the class of 2025 took home scholarship offers from the Gators. One of those new names on UF’s recruiting board is athlete [autotag]Tarvos Alford[/autotag] out of John Carroll High in Port Saint Lucie, Florida, according to Gators Online.

The unranked recruit picked up an offer from the Orange and Blue after impressing at the camp and adds it to a list that already includes Auburn, Penn State and Tennessee among others. A rising sophomore, Alford isn’t quite settled at a position, but Florida is recruiting him as a linebacker. That’s the spot he excelled in most at the camp.

Alford grew up watching the Gators as a Florida native and was excited to get the news.

ā€œThis was definitely a high-emotion offer because this was the school I grew up being a fan of,” he said.

It’s still very early in the recruiting process for Alford. Although Florida is one of his dream schools, no one school is standing out at this point. He likes them all.

Head coach Billy Napier introduced himself to the 6-foot-2-inch, 204-pound prospect but nothing too serious was discussed. Other coaches gave him some tips that he can work on over the summer and into next season. The Gators will be sure to keep an eye on him and stay in communication as his recruitment develops.
