Twitter reacts to Neto Umeozulu’s late-night commitment to Texas

The momentum continues to build for Texas’ 2022 class.

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian sent out a cryptic tweet at about 10 p.m. Monday night that hinted at a possible commitment.

This sent Texas fans into a frenzy as they spent another night spamming the refresh button on Twitter with hopes of good news.

The fans who stayed up late were treated to a very pleasant surprise after four-star offensive lineman Neto Umeozulu committed to the Longhorns.

Kyle Flood has been on fire on the recruiting trail. Texas has five offensive linemen committed to its 2022 class with priority targets Devon Campbell and Malik Agbo still on the board.

Umeozulu marked the third offensive lineman Texas has landed since the “Pancake Factory” NIL deal was announced last week. Texas’ NIL benefits have provided a massive boost on the recruiting trail.

Sarkisian and his staff have all sorts of momentum ahead of the early signing period beginning on Wednesday.

Umeozulu’s surprise commitment provided a lot of social media hype among Texas recruits. View some of the best reactions here:

Social Media Reactions to Oklahoma’s 35-23 win over Kansas

How did Social Media react to the Oklahoma Sooners 35-23 win over the Kansas Jayhawks? Come process the win with us.

Gloria (Rosie Perez) from White Men Can’t Jump summed it up perfectly.

Sometimes when you win, you really lose, and sometimes when you lose, you really win, and sometimes when you win or lose, you actually tie, and sometimes when you tie, you actually win or lose. Winning or losing is all one organic mechanism, from which one extracts what one needs.

Yesterday’s 12 point win over the Kansas Jayhawks will count as a win on the stat sheet, but it  actually felt like a loss. Not because of the final score, but because of the mechanism that led to the final score.

The Oklahoma Sooners slept through the first half. Kansas took the air out of the ball, dominating time of possession and limiting the Sooners to just three possessions.

Those three Sooners possessions went punt, interception, and turnover on downs.

Nothing worked.

Kansas had the Oklahoma Sooners befuddled on both sides of the football. Jayhawks’ quarterback had a career day completing 74% of his passes after coming into the game connecting on just 55% of his throws.

Thankfully, the Sooners found their game at halftime. And though it wasn’t always perfect and the game was in doubt until the final minutes, the Sooners stayed undefeated on the season.

And as we do after each game, let’s take a look at what social media had to say about the win.

Social Media reacts to Caleb Williams first start in OU’s 52-31 win over TCU

How did Social Media react to Caleb Williams’ first start and the Oklahoma Sooners win over the TCU Horned Frogs 52-31?

The internet was abuzz 30 minutes before kickoff as reports were coming in during warm-ups that Spencer Rattler and Caleb Williams were both getting time with the first-team offense in different team sessions. As Lincoln Riley attempted to maintain some semblance of a competitive advantage, no one really had a handle on which quarterback would start for the Oklahoma Sooners against the TCU Horned Frogs.

When it was finally announced just before kickoff, it seemed like a new energy hit social media as the excitement about Caleb Williams grew to a fever pitch. What he and the Oklahoma Sooners offense would do over the next few hours would do little to quell the excitement over the Oklahoma Sooners new QB1.

As we do after each win, let’s take a look at some of the best social media reactions to the Oklahoma Sooners 52-31 win over the TCU Horned Frogs.

Social Media Reacts to Sooners’ close win over the Mountaineers

Social media reactions to the Oklahoma Sooners win over the West Virginia Mountaineers from week 4 of the college football season.

It was another rough outing for the Oklahoma Sooners offense, but the defense rose to the occasion in a tight 16-13 win over West Virginia. When it mattered most, the Sooners and Spencer Rattler provided the drive of the game as they methodically moved the ball down the field from their own eight-yard line into position to give Gabe Brkic a chance to win the game.

And Brkic did what Brkic did, nailing the 30-yard field goal for the game-winner as time expired.

During the game, a segment of Sooners fans in attendance began chanting for Caleb Williams to replace Spencer Rattler. While Rattler and the offense were certainly struggling a bit with West Virginia’s defense, it was never so bad that Rattler needed to be replaced.

The running game was as big of an issue as anything. That goes to the offensive line’s inability to move the line of scrimmage or set the edge against a very good defensive front for the West Virginia Mountaineers.

While there were some understandably frustrated with the play of Spencer Rattler and the offense, there were others still supportive of the Oklahoma Sooners starting quarterback.

Football is a team game, and while Rattler needs to be better, he also needs some help. While the quarterback gets all of the focus, even the best will struggle if the offensive line is struggling or if receivers aren’t getting open.

There were inconsistencies throughout the offense last night, and a lot of that credit has to go to West Virginia for coming in with a solid game plan and executing it to the frustration of the Sooners’ offense.

Social media reacts to the Sooners win, D.J. Graham’s interception

Social media reactions to the Oklahoma Sooners 23-16 win over Nebraska and D.J. Graham’s highlight-reel interception.

The Sooners came away with the most important thing on Saturday. A win. It wasn’t pretty and they didn’t score any style points, but they remained undefeated at 3-0 as they get set to enter Big 12 play with a home date with West Virginia next weekend.

The Oklahoma Sooners offense struggled to mount a consistent offensive attack after their first drive, which ended in a touchdown. Nebraska’s defense kept Spencer Rattler from making many big plays down the field. Rattler was just 24 of 34 for 214 yards and a touchdown against the stingy Cornhuskers defense.

It was a day that didn’t produce a ton of highlights but had the leading candidate for highlight of the year in D.J. Graham’s interception. That’s a play that will live on in Sooners’ highlight reels for years to come.

With that, let’s take a look at some of the best reactions from Twitter in the Sooners 23-16 win over the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Social media reactions to TE Luke Hasz commitment to Oklahoma

Social media reacts to the commitment of Luke Hasz, giving the Sooners another top target in the 2023 recruiting cycle.

The Oklahoma Sooners are already off to a great start in the 2023 recruiting class. With Malachi Nelson and Treyaun Webb in tow, the Sooners picked up a commitment from the four-star tight end from Bixby, Oklahoma, Luke Hasz.

When Hasz steps on campus in 2023, he’ll join a tight end group that will have the nation wondering if Oklahoma’s the new TE U. With Jason Llewellyn, Kaden Helms and Luke Hasz on the same roster, they may force offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley into more two- and three-tight end sets than he might be used to.

Early in the 2023 recruiting cycle, the Oklahoma Sooners continue to hit home runs at the top of the class. There’s still a year and a half until the early signing period for 2023 recruits, and with the Sooners’ future taking them to the Southeastern Conference, this is shaping up to be the top recruiting class in the country.

With all of the excitement surround Hasz’s commitment, let’s take a look at some of the best reactions on Twitter.

Social media reactions to report of Oklahoma looking to jump to the SEC.

The college football landscape was absolutley rocked right down to it’s core on Wednesday. Reports surfaced that the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas Longhorns were looking to join the Southeastern Conference. They would once again play former Big 12 foes Texas A&M and Missouri.

Since the publication of that story, multiple reports have followed. According to 247Sports’ Brandon Marcello, both schools have been looking to leave the conference for some time.

Whispers of Oklahoma and Texas kicking the tires and discussing a departure from the Big 12 have been occurring for the last few months, the source said.

John Talty of Al.com has echoed the report from Marcello as well.

Then we have the current athletic director of Texas A&M, Ross Bjork. ESPN recently published his comments in regards to Oklahoma and Texas joining the SEC Conference as they did less than a decade ago. His comments seemed very insecure about their in-state rivals joining.

A lot more will come to light in the coming days but at this point in the process, it seems like no one can discuss anything else. Almost fitting that the news broke just moments before Aggies’ head coach Jimbo Fisher was set to take the podium at SEC Media Day.
