Prediction

Atlanta 2, New York 1

Moneyline (ML)

ATLANTA (+115) was playing better than anyone in the Eastern Conference before the pause in early March. While it’s difficult to glean much from a two-match sample size, Atlanta United consistently finds the back of the net, even without their star striker Martinez.

They were tied for the most goals in the Eastern Conference through two matches, and they’ll do enough against a defensively-challenged Red Bulls (+225) side to come away with the victory.

A winning $10 wager on Atlanta (+115) nets a profit of $11.50. A $10 wager on New York (+225) would fetch a $22.50 profit if the Red Bulls were able to come through with a win.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 2.5 (-154) is a bit on the costly side, but it will be worth it in the end. Both of these clubs were averaging 2.0 goals per game before the pause, and the Red Bulls yielded three markers early on. While these teams will be building up their stamina again as they get into the swing of things, a total of three goals shouldn’t be too difficult to achieve. Also, playing YES (-176) ON BOTH TEAMS WILL SCORE is a good wager, too.

MLS: Montreal vs. New England odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Thursday’s Montreal Impact vs. New England Revolution sports betting odds and lines, with MLS betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Montreal Impact (1 win, 0 losses, 1 draw) takes on the New England Revolution (0-1-1) Thursday at 8 p.m. ET in each club’s first game of the “MLS is Back Tournament” in the bubble at the Wide World of Sports complex at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla. We analyze the Montreal-New England sports betting odds and lines, while providing MLS betting tips and picks around this matchup from BetMGM sportsbook.

Montreal vs. New England: MLS odds, betting lines and picks

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Wednesday at 5:45 p.m. ET.

Prediction

Montreal 2, New England 2

Moneyline (ML)

Montreal (+250) edged New England (+100) by a 2-1 count Feb. 29 before the pause button was pressed due to the COVID-19 global pandemic situation. Now, they’ll square off in the bubble in Orlando. The difference here is that the Revolution will have a full cadre of DPs with F Gustavo Bou, F Adam Buksa and MF Carles Gil available for the first time. That will tip the scales more in their favor in a match which should see plenty of action. TIE (+275) IS THE BEST BET. Also, if this match were to end up 2-2, betting that for the “Correct Score” returns a healthy +1150.

A winning $10 wager on Montreal and New England settling for a draw nets a profit of $27.50. A $10 wager on the Correct Score ending up 2-2 nets a profit of $111.50 – basically, every $1 wager that wins will profit $11.50.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 3.5 (+150) could be quite the value here. The Impact were averaging 2.0 goals per match before the pause, while allowing 1.5 goals per match. The Revs netted two total goals while also allowing 1.5 goals per match. While I expect some clubs to start slow in the bubble, these sides are relatively healthy and could get off to a quick start. Over 2.5 (-162) is a safer play, and will cost you a lot more juice, but should be a slam-dunk play as well.

MLS: New York City FC vs. Philadelphia Union odds, picks and best bets

New York City FC vs. Philadelphia Union: MLS odds, betting lines and picks

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Wednesday at 4:40 a.m. ET.

Prediction

Philadelphia Union 2, New York City FC 1

Moneyline (ML)

New York City FC (+135) was dropped 1-0 in each of its first two matches, showing off a lack of offense but tremendous defense and goalkeeping. PHILADELPHIA UNION (+180) is the better value here, as it found the back of the net three times in the first two games of the regular season while allowing five goals. Union’s lack of defense shouldn’t be an issue here against a New York side which is still looking for its first goal of 2020. A “Double Chance” bet taking Philadelphia or Tie (-176) might also be worth a small-unit wager if you’re just looking to dip your toe into the MLS betting pool and not get crazy until you get a bit of a preview.

A winning $10 wager on Philadelphia (+180) fetches a profit of $18.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 3.5 (-167) will cost you a bit of a pretty penny, and in normal times it might be a bit worrisome considering Philly’s lack of defense in the first two matches. However, we have a 9 a.m. ET start, as MLS scheduled games in the early morning or evening in Orlando to limit the exposure to the scorching hot Central Florida sun and weather issues. But teams might be a bit sluggish offensively, rolling out of bed and playing meaningful games. Look for a slow offensive start for both ends.

MLS: Orlando City vs. Inter Miami odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Wednesday’s Orlando City vs. Inter Miami sports betting odds and lines, with MLS betting picks, tips and best bets.

Orlando City (0 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw) battles new Florida rival Inter Miami (0-2-2) Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET in the first game of the “MLS is Back Tournament” in the bubble at the Wide World of Sports complex at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla. Orlando City vs. Inter Miami: MLS odds, betting lines and picks

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Wednesday at 4:10 a.m. ET.

Prediction

Orlando City 1, Inter Miami 1

Moneyline (ML)

Both of these teams started out rather sluggish in the first two games of the MLS season. Orlando City (+200) picked up a point with a draw, but managed just one goal while allowing two. Inter Miami (+130) was equally impotent on offense, netting just one goal while yielding three. After a lengthy layoff due to the COVID-19 pandemic, expect a lot of “feeling out” early on, heavy legs and sloppy-set pieces. Each team might be able to find a marker, but a scoreless match wouldn’t be shocking here, either. TIE (+250) IS THE BEST BET. It might be a good small-unit play to take the “Double Chance” wager with Orlando City or Tie (-167).

A winning $10 wager on Orlando City and Inter Miami settling for a draw nets a profit of $25.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 2.5 (+105) fetches plus-money, but it might be the way to go. The two sides are likely to look like they’re running in sand as they build up their fitness and stamina as guinea pigs in the first match of the tournament. During “normal” times, they weren’t exactly lighting the world afire offensively, so it’s strange that the Under is such a value here.

Prediction

Bayern Munich 2, Wolfsburg 2

Moneyline (ML)

Bayern Munich (-150) is a heavy favorite on the road, but it has the title wrapped up yet again. As a result, team manager Hansi Flick might elect to rest a few key members of his personnel ahead of the Cup Final. That makes Wolfsburg (+340) an intriguing play at home, and perhaps worth a small-unit play. A DRAW (+340) is the same odds as a Wolfsburg win, and a better wager.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 3.5 (-134) is worth a look. Wolfsburg may see a few more offensive opportunities with Flick using more reserves than usual in the match. Wolfsburg has conceded at least two goals in three consecutive home matches. In addition, Bayern Munich has scored at least two goals in 16 of the past 19 Bundesliga matches, so count on Bayern Munich putting it into the back of the net at least twice.

Prediction

Manchester City 2, Chelsea 1

Moneyline (ML)

MAN CITY (-125) has been on a mission since returning from the three-month hiatus due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. The team has posted a pair of clean sheets against Burnley (5-0) and vs. Arsenal (3-0). Now, it will try to upend Chelsea (+310), which lurks fourth in the EPL table, but 12 points back of second-place Man City. It won’t be a blowout at Stamford Bridge in Fulham, but Man City will come away with three points on this business trip.

MAN CITY TO WIN AND BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE (+210) is a value play. Man City is not going to keep rattling off clean sheets, and The Blues are easily the most potent offense it will have faced since returning.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 3.5 (-200) will cost you a pretty penny, but this one shouldn’t see more than three goals. Man City has been locking it down on defense, while Chelsea yielded just one goal to Aston Villa in its only game since the return. Plus, Chelsea has coughed up only one goal in the past three matches across all competitions. In addition, Man City lost striker and leading goal scorer Sergio Aguero (16 goals, 24 matches) to a knee injury Monday vs. Burnley – manager Pep Guardiola said after the game that it “doesn’t look good.” Unfortunately for Man City, Aguero is expected to miss the remainder of the EPL campaign.

Atalanta vs. Lazio: Serie A odds, betting lines and picks

Prediction

Atalanta 2, Lazio 2

Moneyline (ML)

Atalanta (+110) will look to protect its home turf and pick up a signature win against Lazio (+230), a team sitting second overall in the Serie A table with 62 points and a sparkling plus-37 goal differential. But that goal diff is just second in Serie A, as the best mark belongs to Atalanta at plus-39. Both of these teams have high-powered offense, none better than Atalanta, which paces the league with 74 goals. Lazio will be able to pierce Atalanta’s defense – and goalkeeper – which has been a little suspect for a top club, allowing 35 goals. Lazio, on the other hand, has allowed just 23. Look for both of these teams to play a very spirited draw, each coming away with a point to show for their efforts. That was the result of their most recent meeting on Oct. 19 in Roma, as Lazio hosted in a 3-3 tie. DRAW (+270) IS THE BEST BET.

A winning $10 wager on Atalanta and Lazio settling for a draw nets a profit of $27.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 3.5 (+130) is a value play, as each of these teams are offensive juggernauts. While Lazio’s defense might make it tough on the hosts, Atalanta should still be able to bag at least two goals. Three of the past six meetings between these two have seen at least four goals, and Atalanta has hit the back of the net at least twice in six consecutive Serie A matches.

Serie A: Juventus vs. Bologna odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Monday’s Juventus Bologna and Italian Series A soccer matchup, with soccer betting odds, picks and best bets.

Juventus vs. Bologna: Serie A odds, betting lines and picks

Prediction

Juventus 1 Bologna 1

Moneyline (ML)

Juventus (-167) sits atop the Serie A table by one point over second-place Lazio. Juventus has not looked like a first-place club or championship contender since returning, playing to scoreless draws against Napoli Wednesday in the Coppa Italia, and against AC Milan June 12. While the two clean sheets were nice, the lack of offense is rather alarming.

Bologna (+475) is a physical bunch and is actually a strong value at this price. Bologna has lost eight straight matches to Juventus across all competitions, but if there was ever a time where Juventus was ripe for the picking, it’s here. Bologna is worth a look with a small-unit play, but DRAW (+300) IS THE BEST BET.

A winning $10 wager on Juventus and Bologna playing to a draw nets a profit of $30.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 2.5 (+115) is a great play. Juventus has seemed rather disinterested since the restart, and Bologna is a physical side who are shown plenty of cards. Bologna will likely add to Juventus’ scoring woes in this defensive slog. What a value the UNDER is here.

Dortmund vs. RB Leipzig: Bundesliga odds, betting lines and picks

Prediction

RB Leipzig 3, Dortmund 2

Moneyline (ML)

RB LEIPZIG (+125) is worth a roll of the dice in this battle between second- and third-place clubs. A win over Dortmund (+195) would be a nice consolation prize after losing out to Bayern Munich for the overall league title, the eighth straight for Munich. Leipzig is still headed for Champions League play, and will be a force to be reckoned with there.

If you want to take a bit of a chance, RB LEIPZIG TO WIN AND BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE (+240) is an intriguing value play.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 3.5 (+125) is a value play here. Dortmund has registered 82 goals across 32 games, while Leipzig has buried 79 goals. These are two of the highest-scoring teams in the Bundesliga. Leipzig has found the back of the net in five of its past six Bundesliga matches. In the most recent meeting – Dec. 17, 2019 – these two battled to a 3-3 draw, and they have scored five or more goals in three of the past five head-to-head meetings.

Bayern Munich vs. Freiburg: Bundesliga odds, betting lines and picks

Prediction

Bayern Munich 2 Freiburg 1

Moneyline (ML)

Bayern Munich (-358) is the overwhelming favorites on its home pitch, although it is likely to rest several of the club’s top dogs with an eighth consecutive Bundesliga title wrapped up and in the bag. While Freiburg (+850) still has something to play for with a Europe League spot on the line, it’s not a good bet. Bayern Munich is still expected to play F Robert Lewandowski, as he chases the all-time Bundesliga scoring record.

A better play might be to take BAYERN TO WIN AND BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE (+110). In fact, that’s a pretty strong value considering the champs won’t likely be playing at full strength, so Freiburg should be able to at least get on the board at some point.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 3.5 (+100) is a good idea here, as Bayern Munich is likely to power it back a notch with the title wrapped up. Freiburg still has plenty at stake, but it has managed just 43 goals through 32 matches this season.
