Shaq was supposed to eat frog on ‘NBA on TNT’ after TCU lost to Georgia, but he hilariously ate chicken instead

Nah. Shaq can’t get away with this.

Nah, man. Shaq still owes us the visual of him actually eating frog. We absolutely have to have it.

The Inside the NBA host made his first public appearance on Tuesday since claiming he would eat a frog if TCU lost to Georgia in the College Football Playoff championship game.

Obviously, TCU lost pretty big. So everyone came into Tuesday expecting Shaq to have to eat frog, as promised, at some point. He even acknowledged the fact that he has to eat frog now.

We thought we finally got our moment. He brought a tray of something that appeared to at least be frog legs to the set. And, look — let’s be clear. Shaq said a frog — not frog legs. But fine. That’s at least part of a frog. We’ll take it.

But, as it turns out, he wasn’t even eating frog. Adam Lefkoe tried a piece of what Shaq brought to the table and it seems it was actually chicken.

House of Highlights posted the video evidence on YouTube. We’re going to need a do-over, Shaq.

“Adam Lefkoe: Shaq, that’s chicken.

Shaq: This is frog legs.

Lefkoe: Shaq, you need to stop lying. I’m not letting you get away with a bet with Ernie like that. This is chicken…America, this is chicken.”

Lefkoe sleuthed him out on this one. He also got Shaq to promise he’d honor his bet in the right way on Thursday when he’s with the OG Inside crew. “I’ll do it right on Thursday since you snitched me out,” he said.

Good on Lefkoe. Can’t wait to see this.

Shaq brought his hilarious hairline back on the ‘NBA on TNT’ set and got himself a new nickname

THE BIG STEPHEN A. SHAQ IS HERE

We’ve always known Shaquille O’Neal as a man with many names. Diesel. The Big Shamrock. Shaqovic. The Big Aristotle.

But do you know Stephen A. Shaq? You will after reading this post — that’s for sure.

Nearly three years ago, Shaq lost a friendly bet to Dwyane Wade who was still on the NBA on TNT team at the time.

The condition of his bet was simple — if he lost, he had to grow his hair and come show it off on the NBA on TNT set. Shaq is a man of his word so that’s exactly what he did after he took the L.

The dude has been bald for years now for a reason. Shaq debuted his hairline on TV and just barely extended halfway to the top of his head. It was hilarious.

On Tuesday, Shaq brought the hairline back. This time, it came with a prestigious title. STEPHEN. A. SHAQ.

Y’all. It’s glorious. This man Shaq has a free throw line on the top of his head. The people cannot get enough of this.

Shaq claims he’ll eat a frog if TCU loses to Georgia

Will Shaq end up eating a frog?

The NBA on TNT loves to get sidetracked and talk about college football. NBA basketball analyst Ernie Johnson is a big Georgia football fan. Johnson, who attended the University of Georgia, frequently talks college football with former LSU Tiger star Shaquille O’Neal and former Auburn Tigers standout Charles Barkley.

Shaq claims he will eat a frog if the Georgia Bulldogs win the national championship over the TCU Horned Frogs. Georgia is looking to win back-to-back national championships against TCU on Jan. 9.

Shaq made the bold statement on the NBA on TNT:

Former Boston Celtics big man Shaquille O’Neal on being inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame

“I am extremely honored to be inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame. Representing the United States was such an honor,” said O’Neal of his induction.

Few fans of the Boston Celtics since the time iconic big man Shaquille O’Neal played on the team do not know the LSU alumnus is in the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame.

But that is not the only Hall of Fame Shaq has been inducted into. His play internationally was enough to get him the nod into the FIBA Hall of Fame as well.

“I am extremely honored to be inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame. Representing the United States was such an honor,” said O’Neal of his induction.

“Being on the winning World Cup title team with the Dream Team II in 1994 and winning the Olympic gold medal in 1996 were two of the biggest achievements of my career.”

Take a look at the video embedded below to see the Big Aristotle in action in the international play that got him into yet another Hall of Fame.

Former Celtic Shaquille O’Neal’s 1994 FIBA World Cup highlights

Long before he would join the Boston Celtics in search of a ring as a backup big man in the twilight of his Hall of Fame career, NBA icon Shaquille O’Neal would represent the United States at the 1994 FIBA World Cup.

Long before he joined the Boston Celtics in search of a ring as a backup big man in the twilight of his Hall of Fame career, NBA icon Shaquille O’Neal represented the United States at the 1994 FIBA World Cup. The svelte and young Shaq dominated international play.

The future Celtics center was a force to be reckoned with in FIBA play that offseason, O’Neal played well enough to add to an already-impressive resume that made him a shoo-in for the FIBA (as opposed to Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame of Springfield, Massachusetts) Hall of Fame that is located in Alcobendas, Madrid, Spain.

Take a look at the clip embedded below to see his highlights playing for the US National Team in FIBA World Cup competition in 1994, courtesy of FIBA’s YouTube Channel.

Kenny Smith decked Shaq into a Christmas tree on the NBA on TNT set and fans loved it

Kenny Smith got Shaq good here.

It takes a lot to push around Shaquille O’Neal and his seven-foot frame, but Kenny Smith did just that and then some on the set of NBA on TNT.

On Tuesday during the broadcast, Smith and Shaq were in the middle of a segment when suddenly, the pair got up from the desk and ran towards the back of the set. Hilariously, Smith then checked Shaq into the giant Christmas tree at the side of the set as they were running, with the former Los Angeles Laker falling right through with only his feet sticking out.

The other two TNT cohosts, Charles Barkley and Ernie Johnson Jr., had to then come fish Shaq out of the Christmas tree as the segment truly went off the rails in this hilarious moment.

That takes some incredible skill there from Smith to toss Shaq right into the tree like that. Even better, this isn’t the first time Smith got to Shaq, as years ago, the same thing happened between the two! Except back in 2014, the Christmas tree was much smaller and didn’t do nearly enough of a good job of breaking Shaq’s fall like this time around.

One day, Shaq will get revenge on Smith for this double Christmas tree tumble and it will be sweet. NBA fans, however, could not contain their jokes at Shaq’s expense after the hilarious affair.

Shaquille O’Neal opens up on Ben Simmons and dealing with critics

NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal compares his own struggles with hecklers to what Ben Simmons is currently going through.

The Brooklyn Nets suffered a tough loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday, and Ben Simmons continues to struggles offensively as he extended his single-digit scoring streak.

NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal talked with journalists on an NBA on TNT program about Simmons’ struggles and scrutiny from fans. O’Neal made the comparison of Simmons’ doubters to his own free-throw hecklers.

“I understand exactly what Ben’s going through. You don’t think I, after missing ten free-throws in a row, I’m nervous about going to the line? Confession time: I used to be scared [expletive].

…. Let’s just say there’s a tie game, couple seconds left and I made that one, now I’m laughing back at you and you can’t do [expletive] about it. So, like, I never got hurt. Let me tell you something – it weighed on me. I used to go home and tear my house up. I used to go home and listen to what everybody says. Guys you thought were your friends, Stephen A. [Smith] and all that, they used to say the same thing. But I couldn’t…. that didn’t make me want to quit, it made me want to make you shut up.”

Shaq said he’d pay Charles Barkley to $10,000 to spell spectacular on ‘Inside the NBA’ and he almost couldn’t do it

S-P-E-C-T…wait

I don’t know if ‘Inside the NBA’ is a comedy show or an NBA analysis show at this point. But, whatever it is, please give us more.

You cannot replicate this content anywhere else. It’s pure gold. Shaq, Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith are just an incredibly hilarious combination that make the show exactly what it is. They’ve been doing it for years now.

We saw a prime example of that on Tuesday during the halftime show. The crew was supposed to be giving us some hard-hitting analysis on the Suns and Warriors matchup.

Instead? We got a spelling bee.

Shaq dared Charles Barkley to spell “spectacular” on camera and said he’d give him $10,000 if he could do it. And, y’all.

He almost couldn’t.

“Charles: I’d have to write it.

Shaq: Nah, spell it.

Charles: S-P-E-C-T….wait…S-P-E-C-T-A-C-U-L-A-R. Is that right? That’s right, isn’t it?

Ernie Johnson: I couldn’t understand what you said.”

WHERE ELSE ARE YOU FINDING THIS CONTENT, Y’ALL?!? This is comedic gold. Just pure gold.

The entire internet was cackling.

Shaq responds to Nets’ Ben Simmons calling him a hater

Shaq sounds off on his criticism of Ben Simmons.

Earlier this week Brooklyn Nets playmaking forward Ben Simmons sat down with former teammate JJ Redick on his podcast to discuss his basketball journey, including the excessive criticism and hate he’s received.

NBA legend and personality Shaquille O’Neal took to his Big Podcast to react to Simmons’ claims that O’Neal is a hater. Shaq said, “First of all, these young players you need to understand Shaquille O’Neal don’t need to hate on you. Everything you’re doing I’d have done it a hundred times over.”

Shaq continued:

“First of all, if you play at 9:30 and we come on at 10 and we say something, it’s just what we see. The mental thing ain’t come out until everybody start bashing you, then you let people know you have mental health problems.

…. I told the world, I said ‘he did DM me he told me he’s going through some problems,’ and I said I was going to back up and then I told him in the DM ‘OK, the reason why people don’t know what’s going on because you ain’t talking. But as far as what I saw and I speak on what I know, I know how to get to that next level. He knows that and yes, you can be my brother, but I ain’t gonna always sugarcoat things, I’m gonna tell you the real. I ain’t never sugarcoat.

…. But you can’t say I’m hating because all the stuff you’re doing it because you saw me do it… If you’re greater, you can’t be a hater.”

Legend Shaquille O’Neal discusses rocky Nets’ coaching situation

NBA Legend Shaquille O’Neal responds to a question, asking if he believes Steve Nash will be able to navigate this season successfully.

Following a long stressful summer for the Brooklyn Nets, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal talked about his former teammate Steve Nash and the coaching situation happening across the bridge.

In an interview with associate editor Bill DiFilippo of Uproxx, he asked the big man if he thought Nash could navigate this season as the Nets coach. Shaq responded by saying that he could never lead a team with a lack of respect, inferring the Durant-Nash situation.

“Before I answer the question, I’m gonna tell you a little story. A guy asked me the other day, “you ever think about coaching?” And the answer is no. He said why? When a guy makes 20 times more than you, it’s gonna be hard for them to respect you. It shows that they don’t respect him. All the “I want him gone, I want him gone,” and then to come back and say we worked it out, nah, it ain’t that easy. As adults, we can have a heart-to-heart, we can iron it out. But it’s still right here. So when things don’t go right, they’re gonna blame it on him. So, he’s gonna have to demand their respect. As a player, if you know you were better than a former player who’s now a coach, it’s gonna be hard for you to, in tough situations, listen to him. So, it’s gonna be tough. I know the coaches I played for, they put their foot down. Sometimes you got to put your foot down, even if the player makes a $50 million, you got to put your foot down, especially if they ain’t gonna step up, anyway.”

The Durant-Nash relationship will be something to watch all season when 2022-23 gets underway. The future Hall of Famer delivered an ultimatum to team governor Joe Tsai that it was either get rid of Nash and GM Sean Marks or trade Durant. Neither
