Shaq hilariously called Charles Barkley a bum to congratulate Devin Booker for breaking one of his records

Shaq vs. Charles Barkley just never gets old, does it?

Devin Booker had a spectacular game — and series, really — against the Clippers. He made a little history along the way while doing it, too.

Booker broke Charles Barkley’s record for most playoff games with 40 points or more by a Phoenix Suns. Barkley’s record was previously 5 — Booker broke it with his 6th after scoring 40 twice in this series.

So, of course, the Inside the NBA crew had Booker on the postgame show to talk about his incredible performance. The crew also congratulated him for breaking Barkley’s record, which was pretty cool to see.

What was hilarious, though, was Shaq congratulating Booker by absolutely roasting Charles Barkley. These two dudes, man. They’re always at each other’s necks — in a fun way.

Shaq told Booker “you passed a bum. Thank you, Devin.” Obviously, this is a not-so-subtle shot at his colleague.

Even Book had to have a laugh at that. That’s a good one.

To be fair to Shaq, though, this is a little bit of get back. Barkley took a bit of a shot at Shaq earlier in the night when he congratulated Paolo Banchero on winning Rookie of the Year.

“Other than Dwight Howard, you’re another great Orlando big man. Not many great men in Orlando. You’re second already behind Dwight.”

Obviously, Shaq started his career with the Magic and he was pretty good! So it’s not like Barkley didn’t earn himself a shot from Shaq.

It’s all in playful fun, though. The jokes never stop between these two. And, to be completely honest, I love to see it.

Top Greatest of All Time stretches: Where Boston Celtics alumni rate among the best career peaks

The folks over at HoopsHype recently put together their own G.O.A.T. based on the best five-year stretch of a player’s career.

When it comes to G.O.A.T. (greatest of all time) debates in the NBA, it often boils down to what the player in question was the greatest at. One could call Boston Celtics legend Bill Russell the winning G.O.A.T., Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James the longevity G.O.A.T., and perhaps Chicago Bulls icon Michael Jordan the composite G.O.A.T. just as a few examples.

The folks over at our sister site Hoops Hype recently put together their own G.O.A.T. based on the best five-year stretch of a player’s career. Using their own Global Rating Metric, H/H’s Frank Urbina and Raul Barrigon rate all the best players in league history.

Let’s take a look at where Celtics alumni fell on this list.

Charles Barkley took a hilarious jab at Kendrick Perkins after wild Nikola Jokic comments

Kendrick Perkins missed the mark with this one

The MVP conversation in the NBA always gets a little heated every year, but this year things are feeling extra spicy.

That’s mostly because of ESPN’s Kendrick Perkins. The former NBA player had a lot to say about Nikola Jokic over the last few weeks.

For example, Perkins said Jokic is padding his stats and pointed to that as why his numbers are so gaudy as if they still don’t contribute to winning. Jokic had some fun with that one, though.

One thing that wasn’t so fun, though, was when Kendrick Perkins seemed to allude to Jokic being the front-runner for a potential 3rd straight MVP trophy because he’s white. He got into a full-blown argument with JJ Reddick on First Take behind this one.

This was his argument in a nutshell.

Perkins also argued that 80% of the NBA’s MVP voters are white, but it turns out that’s actually incorrect, too.

Perkins has been called out for this on a few occasions already. Charles Barkley, for example, absolutely blasted Perkins for this take.

He also made fun of him on Inside the NBA for it and it was hilarious. Shaq said he would vote for Giannis Antetkounmpo for MVP. Barkley came back immediately by saying “you’re only doing that because he’s Black.” And then everyone just lost it.

The best part of this was Jamal Crawford begging for Ernie Johnson to come in and save the crew. Meanwhile, Ernie needed some saving, too. It was that funny.

Look, there’s a conversation about race and the NBA that can definitely be had — just as there is with virtually everything else in America. No one can plausibly deny that.

But this one doesn’t really feel like it’s it. If Nikola Jokic wins his 3rd MVP this season, it’s because he’s been a statistical anomaly — not because he’s white. He deserves credit for that.

If that credit comes in the form of another MVP? So be it.

Kevin Durant hit Scoot Henderson with a hilarious jab while taking a shot at Charles Barkley and Shaq

Scoot Henderson has to be somewhere like “now why am I in it?”

Scoot Henderson is almost certainly somewhere just minding his business right now. He’s probably training or playing NBA 2k or something — whatever it is future NBA players are doing at this point.

But then, all of a sudden, his phone starts blowing up. Something definitely just happened. But that something isn’t serious at all — it’s actually kind of funny.

For absolutely no reason at all, Kevin Durant took a hilarious jab at Henderson while also throwing shots at Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal for their criticisms of his career.

For those of you who don’t know, Barkley and Shaq have been huge vocal critics of Durant’s leadership. Remember the whole bus driver analogy thing? Durant also commented on Barkley comparing him to both Kobe Bryant and LeBron James.

Anyway, Durant was asked about their criticisms by Yahoo! Sports’ Vince Goodwill after his debut with the Suns where he poured in a smooth 23 point, 6 rebound performance against the Hornets. And what he had to say was pretty funny.

“Most definitely. Because at this point, they’re saying, go play with Scoot Henderson and win a championship and then we’ll give you credit,” Durant told Yahoo Sports. “I don’t need no credit from y’all, no credit from [Barkley], no credit from Shaq. Y’all don’t ever have to watch me play ever again, don’t talk about me if you don’t [rock] with me. I’m not gonna stop doing what I do. Everybody has their opinions, man. It’s not gonna stop me and how I approach the game.”

Y’all. There was absolutely no reason for Scoot Henderson’s name to be brought up here. Yet, there it is. And it’s so funny, man.

Shaq tried to start a ‘We hate Chuck’ chant with the crowd on ‘Inside the NBA’ but fans weren’t here for it

“We love Chuck!”

Inside the NBA traveled out to Salt Lake City for the All-Star game this weekend and, man, does it look like a blast.

Charles Barkley and Shaq already seem to be having a great time. The two were up to their usual shenanigans during Thursday night’s NBA action, except for this time they had a crowd behind them, too.

Shaq tried to use the crowd to his advantage. He tried to start a “we hate Chuck” chant in the middle of the broadcast and wanted fans to get in on it.

But the crowd turned on him and started booing. Apparently, they love Barkley in Utah.

“They won’t even do it. They said they love Chuck,” Kenny Smith said. The crowd really reversed things on Shaq. They actually broke out into a legitimate “We love Chuck,” chant and that’s pretty cool.

This weekend is going to be fun. The Inside crew is already having a blast.

Charles Barkley hilariously saved us from watching Shaq undress on ‘Inside the NBA’ and we should all be thankful

We all owe Charles Barkley a solid now

You cannot put anything past Shaquille O’Neal, man.

This is the same guy who grew his hair back (to the best of his ability) after losing a bet. He’s also the same guy who glued baby hair on his forehead after losing a bet, too.

The good news here is that Shaq seems to be a man of his word, which is great. The bad news, though, is that when he says he’s going to do something ridiculous, he’s actually going to do it.

That’s why Charles Barkley took him so seriously when he said he’d take his clothes off live on air during Inside the NBA if Charles Barkley could accurately spell “precautionary.”

Barkley IMMEDIATELY messed the word up knowing exactly what was at risk.

Chuck saved us all, man. Even if Shaq just took of his shoes and socks, it’d be an absolute nightmare. Have y’all seen the man’s toes? It is not a pretty sight.

For some reason, everyone thought this was hilarious.

Nate Robinson dunking on Shaquille O’Neal in 2010 — and 2017

Nate Rob’s classic flush on the Big Aristotle (and the remix).

While he never entered the NBA’s annual slam dunk contest as a member of the Boston Celtics, Nate Robinson was, in the estimation of many, one of the best dunkers to ever play for the Celtics.

Nate Rob’s hops often went over like his sense of humor did with teammates: Both would have either your jaw on the floor or your brow furrowed deeply. In one classic combination of the two, Robinson dunked on his teammate of the moment, Shaquille O’Neal, while both were donning the green and white.

The Big Aristotle seemed to take it in stride, but if you have not yet seen this historic flush, take a look at the clip embedded below.

For good measure, Nate recreates the same dunk seven years later on a film set.

Shaq showed up to the ‘Inside the NBA’ set looking like one of the Rugrats after losing a bet to Candace Parker

Shaq is truly a man of his word.

Shaq really, really, really has to stop betting his colleagues on the NBA on TNT set. It never turns out fun for this guy.

He already had to eat frog this year after losing a bet on the TCU Horned Frogs. He also was forced to grow his hair back twice after losing bets on the set.

Now, he’s got hair again after losing a bet to Candace Parker. Again. But this time, it’s in the wildest place.

Shaq bet Candace that Joel Embiid would score 50 points against the Clippers. Unfortunately for Shaq, Embiid didn’t hold him down. He didn’t score 50, so Shaq had to come on set with his baby hair popping.

No idea how he acquired this hair, but I’m almost certain it didn’t grow considering where his forehead was the last time he grew hair. But, regardless, Shaq looks completely ridiculous.

Shaq is a man of his word, indeed. The baby hairs are poppin’. Then when Candace brushes it, too? Whew boy. I absolutely lost it. This man really has one patch of hair on his head.

Nah, man. They really got Shaq on the set looking like Phil and Lil off of Rugrats. What a time.

Fans were cackling at the look.

Shaq paid up on a gross national title game bet by fearlessly chowing down on frog legs

Shaq always pays his debts, but at what cost to viewers?

Never let it be said that Shaquille O’Neal isn’t a man of his word when it comes to paying good on his debts.

After chickening out — literally! — earlier in the week, Shaq finally made good on his bet where he said he’d eat a frog if TCU lost to Georgia in the College Football Playoff championship game. Well, TCU lost big time to Georgia and Shaq had to pay the piper sometime, despite passing off chicken as frog legs to the dismay of many.

On Thursday, however, Shaq owned up to his betting error and actually chowed down quite heartily on frog legs during a NBA on TNT segment! And yes, the frog legs actually looked like the real deal, but battered and fried to — hopefully — make them more appetizing.

While I, personally, could never, good on Shaq for finishing off his bet and digging into those frog legs without abandon.

Shaq was supposed to eat frog on ‘NBA on TNT’ after TCU lost to Georgia, but he hilariously ate chicken instead

Nah. Shaq can’t get away with this.

Nah, man. Shaq still owes us the visual of him actually eating frog. We absolutely have to have it.

The Inside the NBA host made his first public appearance on Tuesday since claiming he would eat a frog if TCU lost to Georgia in the College Football Playoff championship game.

Obviously, TCU lost pretty big. So everyone came into Tuesday expecting Shaq to have to eat frog, as promised, at some point. He even acknowledged the fact that he has to eat frog now.

We thought we finally got our moment. He brought a tray of something that appeared to at least be frog legs to the set. And, look — let’s be clear. Shaq said a frog — not frog legs. But fine. That’s at least part of a frog. We’ll take it.

But, as it turns out, he wasn’t even eating frog. Adam Lefkoe tried a piece of what Shaq brought to the table and it seems it was actually chicken.

House of Highlights posted the video evidence on YouTube. We’re going to need a do-over, Shaq.

“Adam Lefkoe: Shaq, that’s chicken.

Shaq: This is frog legs.

Lefkoe: Shaq, you need to stop lying. I’m not letting you get away with a bet with Ernie like that. This is chicken…America, this is chicken.”

Lefkoe sleuthed him out on this one. He also got Shaq to promise he’d honor his bet in the right way on Thursday when he’s with the OG Inside crew. “I’ll do it right on Thursday since you snitched me out,” he said.

Good on Lefkoe. Can’t wait to see this.
