Kevin Durant featured in Spencer Dinwiddie’s all-time NBA starting lineup

Spencer Dinwiddie keeps giving fans things to talk about in the infancy of the NBA’s hiatus. But how long can the Nets guard keep this up?

Spencer Dinwiddie is always straightforward and honest with his opinions, and he shares them as much as any player in the NBA. But with no games going on, Dinwiddie has been much more active than usual on social media.

He came up with a modified playoff format for the NBA, should the league try to finish the season at a later date. Dinwiddie also started a conversation on Twitter that revealed just how many players are looking at their own highlight reels.

On Monday, the Brooklyn Nets point guard got in on another conversation. He weighed in on a tweet sent out by ESPN, which offered two starting lineups:

Team A: Steph Curry, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Shaquille O’Neal.

Team B: Kyrie Irving, Michael Jordan, Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant and Tim Duncan.

Dinwiddie picked Team A and explained:

While debating with fans Dinwiddie also decided to share his all-time starting lineup: James, Bryant, Jordan, Durant and O’Neal.

Certainly a tough group to defend. But who among them would be willing to see their scoring numbers take a hit? After all, there’s only one ball.

Shaq drops F-bomb in wonderful Kobe Bryant story at tribute

“There’s no I in team,” Shaq recalls telling Bryant. “Yeah,” said Bryant, “but there is an M-E in that mother-[expletive].”

Shaquille O’Neal gave us one of the best Kobe Bryant stories ever on Monday during the emotional tribute to the late Lakers legend at the Staples Center.

O’Neal was telling the story about early on in his days with Bryant as his teammate in Los Angeles. As O’Neal tells it, several of their teammates were complaining that Bryant wasn’t passing the ball enough. As a leader on the team, Shaq took it upon himself to go and talk to the young player.

“There’s no I in team,” Shaq recalls telling Bryant.

“Yeah,” said Bryant, “but there is an M-E in that mother-[expletive].”

It was perfect, and brought the house down. Here’s video of it.

(Warning: Bad language, obviously enough.)

Shaquille O’Neal said that he and Kobe would beat LeBron and Anthony Davis

“Hell yes.”

In a sense, it’s impressive that the NBA season was able to make it to January without a divisive cross-generational debate that will never get answered. But alas, Jimmy Fallon went there.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Shaquille O’Neal was shown a Photoshopped picture of him and Kobe Bryant taking on the current Lakers’ LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

The Lakers have a West-leading 29-7 record this season, so Fallon wanted Shaq’s take on this hypothetical matchup. Who would win? Shaq and Kobe in their primes against LeBron and Davis?

Predictably, Shaq sided with himself and Kobe in emphatic fashion.

Shaq responded to the question, “Do I think or do I know?” And then added that the answer was “hell yes.”

As Shaq pointed out, these conversations can never get answered unless we wanted to see LeBron and A.D. wipe the floor with the current Kobe and Shaq.

But hey, it’s a fun scenario to think about and, honestly, a refreshing change of pace from the annual LeBron vs. Jordan debates.
