Auburn commits, targets clutter Prep Redzone’s top 2026 recruit rankings

Auburn has dominated the in-state recruiting game recently, and looks to continue its streak in 2026.

Auburn football has dominated the in-state recruiting scene lately and is in a prime position to continue the trend in 2026.

Prep Redzone recently updated their 2026 recruiting rankings for Alabama, and the list is cluttered with Auburn commits and prospects. [autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] and the Tigers claim two top-five recruits in the updated rankings and are in the running to land two more.

Auburn linebacker commit [autotag]Shadarius Toodle[/autotag] checks in at No. 5, one spot below fellow Auburn pledge [autotag]Hezekiah Harris[/autotag], an EDGE from Huntsville. Prep Redzone’s Cooper Morreale says that Harris, the state’s No. 1 defensive lineman, will play a key role in Mae Jemison High School’s defensive success this season.

Hezekiah Harris is a fantastic defensive lineman out of Mae Jemison that has been one of the top 5 prospects in our 2026 Rankings for a while now. Harris possesses a rare combination of size, athleticism, and exceptional pass-rushing skills that have made him an outstanding player on Mae Jemison’s defensive front. Harris is a constant threat to opposing quarterbacks with how well he rushes the passer. Every snap Harris rushes the passer he can consistently overwhelm and beat offensive linemen to generate pressure and take down the quarterback. Harris is also terrific against the run- he uses his size to eat up space, can easily shed blocks, and frequently takes down the ball carrier at or behind the line of scrimmage. With how well he’s played the last few years, Harris has become a highly recruited prospect and recently committed to Auburn earlier this summer. Be sure to watch out for Harris this fall, he and this Mae Jemison defense have the potential to be one of the top units in the state.

Auburn is also pursuing No. 3 [autotag]Cederian Morgan[/autotag] (WR, Alexander City) and No. 1 [autotag]Anthony Jones[/autotag] (LB, Mobile). Morgan is projected to sign with Auburn’s 2026 class while Alabama remains Auburn’s biggest threat to sign Jones. Morreale says that Jones is undoubtedly the best prospect the state has to offer from the 2026 class.

Anthony Jones is the #1 prospect in our 2026 Rankings and rightfully so, he’s been phenomenal for Saint Paul’s Episcopal’s defense over the last two years. Jones is a fantastic linebacker prospect that plays with a ton of athleticism, aggression, and physicality. Jones can do everything that his coaches ask of him- he’s a terrific pass rusher, can set the edge, attack the run, and is always around the ball impacting plays. It’s seriously impressive watching Jones’ effort on the field, he doesn’t give up on plays, has great pursuit, and consistently finds ways to disrupt offenses throughout all four quarters. Jones had himself a huge sophomore season last fall- he ended the year with 102 total tackles (10 for loss), 10 sacks, and 5 pass breakups on the season. With how well he’s played the last two years Jones has been highly recruited- he has picked up offers from Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky, and more! Keep an eye on Jones this fall, he’s a heck of a talent and the number-one player in our 2026 class for a reason!

Four-star linebacker commit [autotag]Jamichael Garrett[/autotag] is another notable name within Prep Redzone’s rankings by checking in at No. 12.

Four-star defender chooses Auburn over Ohio State

Four-star defender chooses Auburn over Ohio State #GoBucks

Ohio State football is on track to have a historic 2025 class, but the 2026 class just took a hit with the most recent recruiting news coming out of Alabama. Shadarius Toodle is a four-star linebacker in the class of 2026 from Mobile, Alabama, and had multiple offers to consider including from the Buckeyes and LSU.

This past weekend, Auburn held its Big Cat Weekend, which is one of the biggest recruiting events of the season, and Toodle made his commitment to the Tigers of the SEC. Now it is still early in the process for the 2026 class and he can decommit tomorrow for all we know, but considering he is from the state, this is likely a legitimate commitment that won’t waver.

Auburn receives predictions to land 2026 wide receiver Cederian Morgan

Could Auburn’s 2026 class be the best in program history?

Auburn football’s 2026 class is shaping into one of its best classes in program history.

After landing three four-star prospects during Big Cat Weekend, Auburn wants to keep the momentum by landing a four-star wide receiver from Alexander City to its collection.

Following the busy weekend, Auburn Undercover’s Christian Clemente and Jason Caldwell have submitted “crystal ball predictions” in favor of Auburn landing [autotag]Cederian Morgan[/autotag], a four-star wide receiver from Benjamin Russell High School (Ala.). The predictions from Clemente and Caldwell outweigh a previous prediction from 247Sports National Recruiting analyst Tom Loy’s prediction from June in favor of Alabama.

Morgan was one of many 2026 prospects to visit Auburn for Big Cat Weekend, where he spent his time getting to know Auburn coaches and spending time with current players, including his former high school teammate [autotag]Malcolm Simmons[/autotag].

“I got a chance to get closer with all of the players and coaches,” Morgan said in an interview with Auburn Undercover. “They just made me feel like home. It would be a good place for me to be.”

Morgan is a four-star wide receiver according to 247Sports. He is the No. 4 overall wide receiver from the class and is the No. 2 recruit from Alabama, trailing Auburn target [autotag]Anthony Jones[/autotag] for the top spot. Auburn possesses three of the state’s top 10 recruits from the 2026 cycle on their recruiting board: EDGE [autotag]Hezekiah Harris[/autotag] (No. 3), LB [autotag]Shadarius Toodle[/autotag] (No. 6), and LB [autotag]JaMichael Garrett[/autotag] (No. 8).

Auburn lands commitment from LB JaMichael Garrett

During a jam packed Big Cat Weekend, Auburn football earns a big commitment from Gulf Shores linebacker JaMichael Garrett on Saturday.

Auburn football prides itself in holding one of the biggest recruiting weekends of the offseason, Big Cat Weekend. This year’s festivities are on track to be just as big as years past, and the Tigers are earning solid commitments left and right.

One of those commitments comes from four-star linebacker [autotag]JaMichael Garrett[/autotag], who pledges his talents to the Plains over LSU and USC.

Auburn has been in a comfortable position to land Garrett for a while leading up to this weekend. He visited the Plains on June 1 and was at LSU just days ago.

The Gulf Shores High School (Alabama) product was a key component of the Dolphins’ 2023 Class 5A state title victory, racking up 87 tackles, 26.5 tackles-for-loss and 9.5 sacks on the year.

According to the On3 industry ranking, Garrett is the No. 124 player in the nation and the No. 11 linebacker. He is also No. 8 in the state of Alabama.

Garrett is one of three 2026 commitments for the Tigers this weekend along with EDGE [autotag]Hezekiah Harris[/autotag] and linebacker [autotag]Shadarius Toodle[/autotag]. They combine to help Auburn reach No. 1 in the recruiting rankings in that 2026 class.

Another one! Shadarius Toodle becomes second 2026 commitment of Big Cat Weekend

The four-star linebacker joins EDGE Hezekiah Harris by joining Auburn’s 2026 recruiting class.

Auburn football’s 2026 class just keeps getting better.

Not even an hour after receiving the commitment of four-star EDGE [autotag]Hezekiah Harris[/autotag] for its 2026 class, Auburn football landed another talented recruit in linebacker [autotag]Shadarius Toodle[/autotag].

Auburn has been the front runner for Toodle since extending an offer to him in February. He included Auburn in his top-10 last month along with programs such as Ohio State, LSU, and Texas A&M. Over the last month, Jeffrey Lee and Chad Simmons, both of On3, shared predictions in favor of Auburn landing Toodle. Those projections came true Saturday during the early stages of Big Cat Weekend.

After announcing his commitment, Toodle told On3’s Chad Simmons that he enjoys watching Auburn coaches interact with players, and that he is a great fit within Auburn’s linebacker room. When discussing head coach Hugh Freeze, Toodle predicts that he will lead Auburn to playoff contention very soon.

“Coach (Hugh) Freeze is changing the program,” Toodle said in an interview with On3. “He’s turning the program back into a national championship contender. He had a big recruiting class with the 2024 class and I feel like he can do that with the 2026 class too.”

Toodle is a four-star rated linebacker from Cottage Hill Christian School in Mobile. He ranks as high as No. 3 nationally at his position, and No. 2 among 2026 recruits from Alabama. Auburn’s 2026 recruiting class now ranks No. 2 in the nation according to 247Sports.

Another expert confident in Auburn landing 2026 linebacker Shadarius Toodle

The latest prediction comes just days after Auburn insider Jeffrey Lee projected Toodle to join the Tigers.

Following his list on top 10 schools in July, 2026 four-star linebacker Shadarius Toodle is trending towards landing on the Plains according to experts. On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons is the most recent analyst to log a prediction for the Mobile, AL native.

Simmons prediction comes just days after Auburn insider Jeffrey Lee projected Toodle to join the Tigers. With ‘Big Cat Weekend’ just a few days away, it seems like experts have faith in Hugh Freeze and his staff to land the talented linebacker during their biggest recruiting event of the year.

If Freeze is able to bring the No. 3 recruit in Alabama to the Plains, Auburn would beat out Louisville, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, and SEC programs LSU, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Texas A&M in the pursuit of his talents.

The 6-foot-3, 210 pound linebacker is coming off a fantastic season for Cottage Hill Christian Academy in which he compiled 117 total tackles, 7 sacks, and one interception. Profiling very similar to current Auburn star [autotag]Eugene Asante[/autotag], we’ll see if the Tigers staff can convince the teenager he could occupy the same role in a few short years.

Auburn fans may get any answer to that question as soon as the end of this month after ‘Big Cat Weekend’ wraps up on the on July 29.

Auburn continues trending upward for 2026 LB Shadarius Toodle

Toodle will announce his commitment next month, and Auburn appears to be the frontrunner according to one recruiting expert.

Auburn football has been on an upward trend for 2026 linebacker [autotag]Shadarius Toodle[/autotag] since his visit to campus in February. Now that is commitment date is on deck, Auburn appears to be the program to beat for his signature.

Jeffrey Lee of Auburn Live has submitted a prediction in favor of Auburn landing the four-star linebacker from Mobile ahead of Toodle’s July 4 commitment date.

Toodle has racked up several impressive offers since January, and released his top 10 programs earlier this month. In addition to Auburn, Toodle is considering LSU, Texas A&M, and Michigan among others. He told On3’s Chad Simmons that he is looking to find a program with coaches who excel at both communication and development.

Auburn has two commitments for its 2026 class currently: three-star OL [autotag]Kail Ellis[/autotag] and three-star wide receiver [autotag]Denarius Gray[/autotag]. If Toodle pledges to Auburn, he would slide into the top spot of Auburn’s top-10 class. It also helps matters that Auburn is also the favorite to land Gulf Shores product JaMichael Garrett, a fellow four-star linebacker from the 2026 class.

Auburn has increased its chance to land Toodle by 54% in a week’s time according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine. Auburn now stands at 95.4%, up from 40.9% on June 16. Toodle is the No. 3 overall recruit from Alabama for the 2026 cycle, and is the No. 4 overall linebacker according to On3.

2026 LB Shadarius Toodle includes Auburn in top 10 ahead of July commitment date

Auburn will look to keep the top-10 LB from Mobile within the state borders.

Auburn football has built a solid 2025 recruiting class to this point in the cycle, and is looking to do the same with its 2026 haul.

Auburn is in good standing to land one of the top linebackers of the 2026 class as four-star LB [autotag]Shadarius Toodle[/autotag] includes the Tigers in his top-10 schools list. Several schools joining Auburn in the race for Toodle’s signature are LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, and Texas A&M.

“These schools made my top 10 because of how they kept in contact with me,” Toodle said in an interview with On3. “Relationships are important to me and when I go on these visits, my interaction with coaches is something I look for.”

The Mobile native has racked up several notable offers this calendar year from USC, Florida, and Tennessee. Auburn extended an offer to Toodle on Jan. 31, and Toodle visited Auburn for “Junior Day” in February. According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, Auburn is the team to beat with a 40.9% chance to land his commitment. LSU and Ohio State are next in line.

Toodle is a top-10 linebacker from the 2026 recruiting cycle, and ranks as high as No. 2 in Alabama rankings. According to On3’s Chad Simmons, Toodle will announce his commitment on July 4.

The LSU Tigers join an SEC-heavy list of finalists for Shadarius Toodle.

One of the top linebackers in the 2026 recruiting class has narrowed his list of finalists down to 10 schools. The LSU Tigers join an SEC-heavy list of schools.

Alabama 2026 linebacker gets an offer from Ohio State football

The Buckeyes continue to ramp up their efforts in Alabama. #GoBucks

It was quite a Wednesday for Alabama 2026 linebacker, [autotag]Shadarius Toodle[/autotag], as he not only received an Ohio State football offer, but one from LSU as well.

The 6-foot, 3-inch, 210-pound defender isn’t currently ranked by any major service at the moment but that will change in the near future. When you get an invitation as a junior to play in a high school all-star game, which they are allowing going forward, like Toodle has with the All-American Bowl, you are one of the top players in the country.

Toodle is the latest player from Alabama to get an Ohio State offer, as the Buckeyes are fully capitalizing on the change of regime with the Crimson Tide.

Currently, the Buckeyes have just one commit in the class, wide receiver Chris Henry Jr.
