Vikings’ inactives for the Week 3 game against the Seahawks

Here are the Vikings players who are inactive for today’s game.

The Vikings will be at home for the first time this year, going up against the Seahawks on Sunday. At 0-2, Minnesota needs to win this game. Seattle beating them could spell trouble for the team’s playoff hopes down the road.

Vikings running back Dalvin Cook was listed as questionable on the Friday injury report. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Cook was considered unlikely to play going into pregame warmups. Now, Cook’s status is confirmed as out, due to him being on this week’s inactives list.

Vikings RB Dalvin Cook ‘unlikely’ to play Week 3 vs. the Seahawks

Going into pregame warmups, it was considered unlikely that Vikings RB Dalvin Cook plays today, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

With Dalvin Cook questionable on the Friday injury report, the Vikings still had hope that their star running back would be ready for the home opener in Week 3.

Now, that hope is dwindling. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, it was unlikely that Cook was going to play heading into pregame warmups today. Cook suffered a sprained ankle in Week 2 that has left him sidelined from practice this week.

Operating under the assumption that the Vikings will not have Cook, the team will have to utilize Alexander Mattison and Ameer Abdullah. Mattison is a similar running back to Cook stylistically, while Abdullah offers more in the receiving game.

Minnesota signed Abdullah to the active roster this week. The Vikings waived OT Blake Brandel in the process of signing Abdullah. Minnesota elevated G Dakota Dozier and CB Parry Nickerson, too. In hindsight, it may have been a good call to elevate A.J. Rose for more running back depth. We’ll see if a lack of depth comes into play at all on Sunday.

Vikings slight underdogs at home against the Seahawks

Do you think the Vikings can pull off the upset?

Minnesota has notched its record to 0-2 after consecutive disappointing defeats. Now, if the Vikings want to make it 1-2, the team will have to pull off an upset.

The Seahawks are slightly favored by 1.5 points in their game against the Vikings on Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium, according to Tipico Sportsbook.

Seattle appears to be similar to how it was in 2020 when the team defeated Minnesota. The Seahawks have one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL — Russell Wilson — in addition to a pretty bad defense.

With the bad faith the Vikings defense has built up in the first two games, Minnesota and Seattle could likely be in a shootout in Week 3.

Former UGA DB signed to Seattle Seahawks practice squad

Read what former Bulldog landed with the Seattle Seahawks practice squad for the 2020 NFL football season here!

Former Georgia receiver Jayson Stanley has been signed to the Seattle Seahawks practice squad for the 2020 NFL football season.

Stanley went undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft, but was signed to the Atlanta Falcons practice squad last season and now will continue his NFL career as a defensive back for Seattle.

From Fairburn, Georgia, Stanley was a four star recruit in Georgia’s 2015 recruiting class. He appeared in 25 games during his time in Athens, earning a starting receiver spot in his final year of 2018.

Stanley impressed Seattle enough to garner their attention after the Falcons elected not to resign him this season.

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll is one of the best defensive coaches in the NFL and has coached some of the most dominant secondaries in recent memory – including the infamous ‘legion of boom’ of the 2010s.

That said, Stanley landing with Carroll in Seattle should boost his experience as a young defender and maybe lead to a future roster spot next season.

Arrest warrant issued for former star Georgia Bulldog DB

Former Georgia Bulldog DB Deandre Baker has an arrested warrant for robbery and aggravated assault with a firearm.

An arrest warrant has been issued for former Georgia Bulldog defensive back Deandre Baker. Baker was a first round pick for the New York Giants in 2019.

Now, he and Seahawks’ corner Quinton Dunbar are being accused of Armed Robbery and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm:

Baker, according to the warrant, robbed the victims of money and watches while allegedly threatening them with a firearm. The arrest warrant alleges that the robbery was planned based on the position of the cars.

The event occurred late May 13th at a house party in Miramar, Florida. Baker’s hometown is Miami, Florida. Dunbar aided Baker in the robbery, but didn’t have a firearm.

The warrant alleges that Baker robbed the victims after a card game turned wrong. Baker and Dunbar reportedly lost $70,000 at a previous night.

More information will emerge as the case develops. We’ll keep you updated on the status of both NFL players and former UGA corner Deandre Baker.
