One RB for the Eagles in each round of the 2023 NFL draft

We’re looking at one running back for the Philadelphia Eagles in every round of the 2023 NFL draft.

The Eagles will look different at running back in 2023, with Rashaad Penny replacing former Penn State star Miles Sanders.

Penny, Kenneth Gainwell, Boston Scott, and Trey Sermon give Philadelphia the potential for a solid committee of rushers. However, Eagles GM Howie Roseman could look to land the perfect fit during this month’s draft.

The Eagles have eyes for Bijan Robinson and Jahymr Gibbs, and we have one running back for each round if GM Howie Roseman decides to make a move.

Broncos expected to host RB Sean Tucker on top-30 visit

Sean Tucker totaled 3,804 yards from scrimmage and scored 31 TDs in 33 games at Syracuse.

The Denver Broncos are expected to host Syracuse running back Sean Tucker on a top-30 visit ahead of the 2023 NFL draft, according to a report from KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis. NFL teams are allowed to host up to 30 non-local prospects at their facility leading up to the draft each offseason.

Tucker (5-9, 207 pounds) earned second-team All-ACC recognition last fall after rushing 206 times for 1,060 yards and 11 touchdowns as a junior. Before that, he had a breakout season in 2021 with a school-record 1,496 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns, earning him first-team All-ACC honors.

In three seasons (33 games) with the Orange, Tucker totaled 3,804 yards from scrimmage and scored 31 touchdowns. He is now projected as a fourth-round prospect in this year’s running back class.

The Broncos currently hold pick No. 108 overall in the fourth round and No. 139 overall in the fifth round. If the team decides to target Tucker, it will likely be sometime during that mid-round stage of the draft.

The 2023 NFL draft will be held in Kansas City from April 27-29.

2023 NFL draft big board: Running backs

Ranking what looks to be a very talented and deep RB class in the 2023 NFL draft

Kicking off the positional rankings with the very deep running back position.

It’s a good year to need a running back. Whatever type of back a team might want to augment the backfield, there are multiple appealing options in the draft class of 2023 — and some guys who don’t project to be drafted but still have viable skills.

These are my personal, overall rankings. There are cases where a player ranked lower overall makes for a better fit with a certain team than someone listed above him here. The draft projections won’t match the order in which these prospects are ranked.

Without further ado, the 2023 RBs:

Vikings mock draft 4.0: What if a quarterback falls?

There is a distinct possibility that a quarterback falls in the NFL draft. What would a Vikings draft look like if they took one?

The Minnesota Vikings have a lot of different ways they can go in the NFL draft. There will be some discussion on what needs are most important but the Vikings can address most of them through both free agency and the NFL draft.

In the first mock draft that we did, the Vikings took a cornerback at 23rd overall, took a wide receiver in the second with a trade down and man coverage cornerback with the third. This one, we stayed at each pick and took good players that filled needs.

Mock draft watch: Lions reload the offense in Draft Wire’s latest 2-rounder

Mock draft watch: The Detroit Lions reload the offense in Draft Wire’s latest 2-rounder

Just in time to present you with something to argue with your family about over the holiday weekend, the latest mock draft from Draft Wire and editor Luke Easterling shows up on the doorstep.

Open up this present and find three offensive players of the four projected to the Detroit Lions in the first two rounds. That includes the top pick, which currently sits at No. 4 overall thanks to the Los Angeles Rams.

Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson gets the nod at No. 4. Easterling’s commentary is spot-on about why Richardson makes sense for Detroit,

If you stopped watching Richardson after his rocky start to the 2022 season, you missed out on some strong development over the second half of the season. He’s got a similar skill set (and boom/bust potential) that Josh Allen had coming into the draft, and the Lions could afford to be patient with him with Jared Goff playing well.

The next pick, Detroit’s own at No. 18, is a familiar one from recent mock drafts: Alabama safety Brian Branch. The projection here puts him in the Will Harris role of a bigger slot defender, albeit one with better natural coverage skills than what Harris offers.

The second round picks both hit the offense. USC lineman Andrew Vorhees is the choice for Detroit’s own pick at No. 48. Vorhees would project in as the new starting right guard right away. With the Vikings pick at No. 60 comes Syracuse running back Sean Tucker. He brings the speed with high school track titles and he’s converted it nicely for the Orange into consistent production and big-play ability.

Let’s get wild, week 9: Statistical predictions for Notre Dame vs Syracuse

Which stats do you think help the Irish get a win today?

Although Syracuse isn’t a traditional power, they still boast a very quality team this fall. Their lone loss was last week to an undefeated Clemson squad, which didn’t really give a blueprint for how to beat the Orange. The Irish will have to do it their way and here are some stats that could help Notre Dame get another road upset victory against a ranked opponent.

Tale of the Tape: Leading Rushers – Audric Estime vs. Sean Tucker

Is this matchup a wash?

If you’re a Notre Dame fan, you probably can’t help but wonder if you’re getting your bang for your buck in watching [autotag]Audric Estime[/autotag]. The season is one game past the halfway point, and many might be wondering if Estime can get better before the clock hits zero during the final game. Estime hasn’t been bad, but he also is a sophomore, so there definitely is room to grow before he leaves the Irish. Also, many didn’t think he would be the go-to running back at the start of the season, so that also is an encouraging sign.

Syracuse’s Sean Tucker has gotten a lot of touches in 2022 and for good reason. Last year, his 1,496 rushing yards set a program record. However, he hasn’t been as efficient with his opportunities as Estime has, so these two might cancel each other out. At that point, the question would turn to which quarterback is more capable of leading his team to victory, and you probably don’t want an answer to that.
