Texas has officially fired defensive coordinator Todd Orlando. After three seasons in Austin, the defense has regressed in all three years.

According to Pete Thamel, Texas has officially fired defensive coordinator Todd Orlando. There were rumors of this happening before the Texas Tech game, but it seems like it will be official.

The Longhorn defense has struggled this year, allowing 29 points per game. Allowing 21+ points in every single Big 12 and against LSU, the defense allowed 30 or more points in six different games.

Ranking second to last in the Big 12, Texas allowed 306 passing yards a game. The rush defense ranked well in the Big 12, only allowing 140 yards per game, but Big 12 offenses exploded in the air against the Longhorns.

Orlando had been the defensive coordinator for Texas since Tom Herman’s first season in charge. They have regressed every single year, allowing more and more points.

Even though Texas only returned three starters on defense, a lot more was expected from the unit. An injury-riddled season also contributed to the poor season, but it was not enough to save Orlando’s job.

Craig Naivar is expected to take over for the bowl game. Anwar Richardson of Orangebloods.com is reporting that former Rutgers head coach Chris Ash is the top candidate to take over the position in the future.

WATCH: Justin Tucker hits game winning field goal for the Ravens

Justin Tucker hit a game-winning field goal to give the Ravens a win over the 49ers. He has made all but two kicks for Baltimore this year.

Two of the best teams in the NFL played on Sunday when the San Francisco 49ers traveled to Baltimore to face the Ravens. Tied at 17 with 0:03 left in the game, Baltimore had the opportunity to win the game with a field goal.

From 49 yards out, former Longhorn kicker Justin Tucker drilled a game-winning field goal. giving the Ravens the 20-17 win. It put the Ravens at 10-2 and with a chance to be in first place in the AFC.

Tucker also made a 30-yard field goal in the first half, while adding two extra points.

Tucker has made 95% of his field-goal attempts, going 20-21. He has made all but one of his extra points, making him one of the best kickers in the NFL.

Former Longhorn Charlie Strong fired from USF

Former head coach Charlie Strong has been fired from the same position at USF. A career 21-16 with the Bulls, they went 4-8 this season.

Former Texas head coach Charlie Strong has been fired from USF after his third season in charge. The Bulls lost to arch-rival UCF 34-7 on Friday night to drop them to a 4-8 record in 2019.

Strong was a career 21-16 at USF, but his last two seasons have been poor. After going 10-2 in his first season in 2016, the Bulls started the 2017 season a perfect 7-0, including wins over two Power 5 teams. They then went on to lose their final six games by an average of 18.8 points per game. 2019 was the final straw for Strong, going 2-6 in the American Conference.

Texas will open its 2020 football season with USF and will be going up against a brand new head coach. While a reunion with Charlie Strong would have been nice, it will not be happening anymore.

Even after an impressive win against Texas Tech, the Longhorns remain unranked in the latest Amway Coaches Poll. Texas ends the season 7-5.

With Oklahoma State losing to Oklahoma on Saturday, the sixth-ranked Sooners and No. 8 Baylor are the only other Big 12 teams. The Cowboys (40), Kansas State (24), and Iowa State (3) all received votes.

WATCH: Texas basketball celebrates the win against McNeese State

Texas picked up a win against McNeese State at home tonight, winning 73-71. The Longhorns celebrated in the locker room with Shaka Smart.

The Longhorns got their sixth win of the season tonight, defeating McNeese State 73-71. While it was not the most impressive win for Texas against a 2-6 Cowboys, as long as the Longhorns are winning they are doing their job. Guard Matt Coleman was one point away from a double-double, scoring nine points with 10 rebounds and six assists.

The team celebrated the win in the locker room, dancing and giving Head Coach Shaka Smart hugs.

Texas will face UAB at home on Tuesday night before renewing their rivalry with Texas A&M on Sunday afternoon.

There are many NFL games for New Orleans Saints to watch during Week 13, including the San Francisco 49ers’ visit with the Baltimore Ravens.

The New Orleans Saints handled their business on Thanksgiving with an NFC South-clinching win over the Atlanta Falcons, and they received some help in the earlier games considering the greater scope of the NFC playoff picture. The visiting Buffalo Bills ran roughshod over the Dallas Cowboys, who are hanging onto the NFC East title by a thread, while the Chicago Bears outlasted the Detroit Lions, guaranteeing a longer stay for inconsistent quarterback Mitchell Trubisky.

Now, Saints fans get a long, stress-free weekend of football. Here’s who you should hope wins every game left on the Week 13 schedule, with some serious playoff implications on the line. All odds come from BetMGM.

Around the NFC South

Washington Redskins (2-9) at Carolina Panthers (5-6). Panthers by 9.5. It’s time for the other NFC South teams to start playing for draft position, which means it’s in their interest to lose out and get better players next year. Don’t let that happen, and root for Washington to pull off an upset.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-7) at Jacksonville Jaguars (4-7). Jaguars by 2.5. If Tampa Bay wins, they’ll have worse draft positioning and maybe talk themselves into sticking with Jameis Winston at quarterback. Root for that.

Painting the NFC Playoff Picture

San Francisco 49ers (10-1) at Baltimore Ravens (9-2). Ravens by 5.5. Root for the Ravens to win and force the 49ers into a tough spot before their game with the Saints next week.

Minnesota Vikings (8-3) at Seattle Seahawks (9-2). Vikings by 2.5. These teams are playing for playoff seeding, so root for the Seahawks to defend the fifth seed and keep the Vikings a guaranteed road team.

Green Bay Packers (8-3) at New York Giants (2-9). Packers by 6.5. The Packers have a tenuous hold on the NFC North; root for chaos, and a big Giants upset.

Los Angeles Rams (6-5) at Arizona Cardinals (3-7-1). Kyler Murray may not play this game due to an injury, but root for the Cardinals either way. The Rams can’t afford another loss and still hope to reach the playoffs.

Philadelphia Eagles (5-6) at Miami Dolphins (2-9). Eagles by 9.5. The Eagles would easily be the worst NFC playoff team if they displace the Cowboys, so root for them to win here.

Leftovers and Lagniappe

Tennessee Titans (6-5) at Indianapolis Colts (6-5). Colts by 2.5. New Orleans has to play both of these teams down the stretch, so it can be hard to pick one or the other in this game. A Colts loss would decrease their playoff chances and maybe make them throw in the towel ahead of their Monday Night Football game with the Saints in a few weeks. Root for Tennessee.

New England Patriots (10-1) at Houston Texans (7-4). Patriots by 3.5. Never pull for the Patriots. Root for the Texans and young star quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Oakland Raiders (6-5) at Kansas City Chiefs (7-4). Chiefs by 9.5. Raiders fans can use a win after their strange loss to the Jets, so root for that despite their long odds.

Los Angeles Chargers (4-7) at Denver Broncos (3-8). Chargers by 2.5. The Broncos are auditioning rookie quarterback Drew Lock, so root for him to thrive and keep Denver from drafting another rookie highly next year (when the Saints are scheduled to visit).

New York Jets (4-7) at Cincinnati Bengals (0-11). Jets by 3.5. Bengals fans don’t deserve this after all their team has put them through. Root for them to finally get a win.

Cleveland Browns (5-6) at Pittsburgh Steelers (6-5). Browns by 1.5. Many LSU Tigers fans can sympathize with embattled Browns wideouts Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry, and cornerback Greedy Williams. Root for them to win and keep their playoff hopes alive.

Oklahoma and Baylor are already in the Big 12 championship game, but there is plenty to play for this week. Here is the Week 14 schedule.

Even though the Big 12 Championship matchup has already been determined, there is still a lot to play for in this weekend’s matchups. TCU needs a win against West Virginia to keep its five-year bowl streak intact.

More importantly, No. 7 Oklahoma and No. 9 Baylor need wins to keep their College Football Playoff hopes alive. The Bears have an easier matchup as they face the 3-8 Kansas Jayhawks. The Sooners have a rivalry game with in-state foe No. 21 Oklahoma State.

On fourth down, Jett Duffey threw a fade route to wide receiver T.J. Vasher. Freshman corner back Kenyatta Watson II was in on the coverage, forcing the incompletion.

Going down 14-0, Texas finally was able to get some points on the board against Texas Tech. You can watch Sam Ehlinger’s touchdown here.

After going down 14-0 early to Texas Tech, the Longhorn offense was finally able to get on the board in the first quarter. Coming into today, it had been four consecutive games without a touchdown in the opening quarter for Texas.

After a Roschon Johnson 44 yard rush and a Malcolm Epps 36 yard reception, Texas got all the way down to the Texas Tech 10 yard line. On 3rd and 2, quarterback Sam Ehlinger took the snap and powered his way into the endzone.
