Russell Wilson was a part of a stunning double fumble play, and NFL fans roasted the Seahawks

The San Francisco 49ers managed to turn the takeaway into a touchdown.

Germain Ifedi figured himself a competent ball-carrier for all of three seconds.

During the fourth quarterback of Monday Night Football against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 10, the Seattle Seahawks offensive tackle seemed to see a Russell Wilson fumble in progress. Ifedi grabbed the ball out of the air while Wilson was getting sacked. Ifedi then attempted to advance the ball, but instead managed a second fumble on the play. This time, the Seahawks lost the fumble, and 49ers defensive Deforest Buckner recovered the ball for a scoop-and-score. While a few 49ers seemed to have their hands on Ifedi, linebacker Fred Warner managed to punch out the ball.

It was the Seahawks’ third lost fumble and fifth total fumble to that point in the game. Running back Rashaad Penny fumbled on the San Francisco 47-yard line and receiver D.K. Metcalf fumbled on the 49ers’ 2-yard line.

So when yet another Seahawk committed a fumble at a crucial moment, fans and NFL media members laid into the Seattle for the error.

Seahawks vs. 49ers: Seattle takes lead late in 3rd quarter

After scoring 21 unanswered points Monday night, the Seattle Seahawks have taken the lead over the San Francisco 49ers Week 10.

The Seattle Seahawks were trailing the San Francisco 49ers through nearly three quarters Monday night until quarterback Russell Wilson found tight end Jacob Hollister for the go-ahead score.

After the extra point, the Seahawks lead the 49ers 14-10 with 4:37 left to play in the third quarter.

Recently activated from the practice squad, Hollister now has three touchdowns on the year after logging his first two in last week’s win over Tampa Bay.

Running back Chris Carson was the next man up to score for the Seahawks, on a one-yard touchdown run to increase Seattle’s lead to 21-10.

All three of the Seahawks’ un-answered scores have come on the heels of 49ers’ turnovers.

As of this post, Seattle is beating San Francisco 21-10 at the start of the fourth quarter.

If the Seahawks are able to hold onto the lead, they would hand the 49ers their first loss of the 2019 regular season and Seattle would advance to 8-2 on the year.

DJ Jones eviscerates Seahawks OL, sacks Russell Wilson

DJ Jones blew up Joey Hunt and sacked Russell Wilson.

DJ Jones was lined up across from Seahawks’ backup center Joey Hunt on a third-and-2 on Seattle’s first series.

Jones might as well have lined up across from a traffic cone.

That’s one way to make sure Russell Wilson can’t escape the pocket.

Josh Gordon appreciates Seahawks culture, playing for Russell Wilson

The Seattle Seahawks’ new wide receiver Josh Gordon expressed an appreciation for the team’s culture and playing for Russell Wilson.

The Seattle Seahawks claimed wide receiver Josh Gordon off waivers after being cut by the New England Patriots and he is very satisfied to be with his new team in the Emerald City.

“I’m just grateful to be here,” Gordon said following Saturday’s practice. “I’m grateful to be here. There’s a lot of gratitude. Definitely thankful to land in a spot like this. Could’ve been anywhere, I couldn’t control that. Nonetheless, I’m grateful to have this opportunity to just go out there and do what I do.

“It has been great. It’s been a smooth transition. A great environment, a great football team, and organization. I’m really happy to be here.”

Gordon expressed his appreciation for the culture in the Seahawks’ locker room from the players to the coaches.

“The energy is high energy, all the time, everybody,” he said. “Top to bottom, all across the board. Offense and defense, staff. I love it. Keeps everybody kind of moving, everybody’s on their toes and in the right frame of mind to come in and do what you have to do and just perform, work, and compete.”

Gordon stated he and Russell Wilson discussed playing together for years, and he is looking forward to finally making it happen.

“Me and Russ have been talking about (playing together) for a long time, for a while behind the scenes – how nice it would be,” Gordon said. “Admire his game. I think maybe he respected mine mutually. I love the way he plays, it’s as simple as that. He’s a great ballplayer, he can make it happen from pretty much anywhere.”

Wilson offered words of praise for his new wide receiver after team practice this week.

“Josh, he’s been great since he’s gotten here,” Wilson told reporters on Friday. “He’s been studying like crazy. He sits up (front) and takes tons of notes. He’s highlighting like crazy. He’s in his playbook nonstop. He’s prepared. He’ll be prepared and ready to roll. He’s a true pro. He’s been in different systems and stuff like that. I think that helps him. I think he’s really fired up to be here. We’re fired up to have him.”

Fans hope Gordon can contribute to Seattle’s ambitions as they head into a brutal stretch of schedule through the second half of the season.

Prediction

Seahawks 23, 49ers 21

Moneyline (?)

The Seahawks are one of the best teams in the league and this is a game ripe for an upset. As good as the 49ers have been this year, they showed a few flaws against Arizona last week against dual-threat quarterback Kyler Murray.

Russell Wilson is having an MVP season and will lift the Seahawks to victory. Bet SEATTLE to win straight up with the moneyline (+220).

Against the Spread (?)

If we’re picking the Seahawks to win straight up, you bet we’re taking them with the points, too. Seattle is a 6.5-point underdog in Week 10, which is a huge spread for a divisional matchup – even if San Francisco is at home.

Happily take the points and take the SEAHAWKS (-110) to cover the 6.5-point margin. They’re 13-3 ATS in their last 16 against the 49ers.

Over/Under (?)

The Over/Under is a tough pick this week, since the total is just 46.5 points. The Seahawks offense can go on a tear at any moment thanks to Wilson, but San Francisco’s defense is dominant.

This should be a fairly low-scoring affair with both teams managing the clock. Bet the UNDER (-110) Monday night.

3 things to watch: Seattle Seahawks at San Francisco 49ers

The Seattle Seahawks have a chance to hand the San Francisco 49ers their first loss of the 2019 season on Monday night.

The Seattle Seahawks will play the biggest game of the 2019 season, at least so far, on Monday night when they take on the undefeated San Francisco 49ers in Santa Clara.

The game has massive playoff implications for both teams, and will help reignite the rivalry between the two NFC west foes.

That alone is enough to make this one of the most compelling games of the entire NFL season, but for Seahawks fans, there are even more reasons to watch tonight.

The team could potentially debut both receiver Josh Gordon and defensive back Quandre Diggs, giving fans their first chance to see them in their new uniforms.

Russell Wilson’s quest for an MVP award continues tonight as well, another storyline that has everyone’s attention at this point in the season.

Here are some more notes on what to watch for in tonight’s NFC west showdown.
