LOOK: Brian Robinson’s new fashion statement breaks the internet

Brian Robinson’s “big hat” immediately becomes a meme

Washington Commander’s runningback, [autotag]Brian Robinson[/autotag], had arguably his best day as a professional with 20 touches for 125 yards and a score in their 19-13 win over the Atlanta Falcons.

However, it was the former Crimson Tide star’s postgame outfit that grabbed the attention of the media. Robinson was spotted in a hat that is about four times the size of his head after the game that immediately became an internet meme.

While the hat looks a bit goofy, Robinson did say that his friend owns a “big hat” company, so it is nice to see Robinson supporting a friend’s business!

The Commanders are now 7-5 and back in the playoff hunt, and Robinson has certainly played his role in that,

FANS REACT: Jase McClellan bolts past Texas defense for 81 yard score

Jace McClellan strikes from 81 yards to put Tide up 10-3

Running back Jase McClellan strikes first for the Alabama Crimson Tide on a dazzling 81-yard run! After an opening drive that saw Jahmyr Gibbs get multiple touches, the change of pace in McClellan was enough for the Tide to find the endzone first.

McClellan is a Texas native, so striking in his home state has to taste an extra sweet. McClellan is going to continue to be a problem for the Longhorn defense all afternoon.

Fans and analysts took to Twitter to share their reactions to the monster touchdown by the Crimson Tide running back. The score put Alabama in the lead briefly before Texas came back to tie it up.

WATCH: Mark Ingram II debuts new number with New Orleans Saints

Mark Ingram II changing numbers ahead of 2022 season!

Former Crimson Tide running-back, Mark Ingram II, was acquired by the New Orleans Saints from the Houston Texans for a seventh-round draft pick in October of 2021. For the remainder of the 2021 season, Ingram wore No. 14, however, he will be changing to No. 5 ahead of the 2022 season.

Ingram was originally selected by the Saints in the first-round pick with the No. 28 overall in the 2011 NFL Draft. He debuted wearing No. 28, before eventually changing to No. 22 ahead of the 2013 season. So No. 5 is the fourth jersey number Ingram II has worn with the Saints.

Ingram looks clean in the new No. 5, see below:

WATCH: Bo Scarbrough’s first TD as Birmingham Stallion

Bo Scarbrough scores first touchdown in the USFL with the Birmingham Stallions!

Former Alabama running-back [autotag]Bo Scarbrough[/autotag] signed with the USFL’s Birmingham Stallions on May 9th. In less than two weeks he is already making his presence felt.

Scarbrough recorded his first score in the USFL tonight with a fourth quarter scamper to improve the Stallions to 6-0 on the season. The 6’1, 236 pound mammoth is going to be a problem for the rest of the league.

With a great spring season, Scarbrough could potentially be looking at a leap back into the NFL. However, for now he will remain a fan favorite in his home state of Alabama.

Former Alabama RB Bo Scarbrough to join USFL Birmingham Stallions

Bo is back playing football in the state of Alabama!

This is the inaugural season of the USFL and the Birmingham Stallions have taken the league by storm. The Stallions have opened the season on a four game winning streak. However, they’re not done improving as they have signed former Alabama running-back [autotag]Bo Scarbrough[/autotag].

Scarbrough was a local legend, playing his high school ball at Northridge High School in Tuscaloosa for three years. Going into his senior year he  ultimately decided to go to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

After high school Scarbrough was a consensus five-star and committed to Alabama. He played three years for the Tide amassing career totals of 267 carries, 1,512 yards and 20 touchdowns in 31 career games. Scarbrough declared for the NFL after his junior year and was selected in the seventh round No. 236 overall by the Dallas Cowboys. Scarbrough bounced around a few different teams in the NFL before ultimately receiving the call to join the USFL and the Stallions.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow former Alabama players in the NFL and USFL.

Grading each position group after national signing day

Our virtual report card by position group after national signing day.

In the transfer portal era, college football rosters are never set, but with the passing of national signing day, Auburn’s roster should not be going through any more massive change soon. But then again with the uncertainty around the head coach, never say never.

Auburn whiffed on their remaining targets on sighing day and with Ja’varrius Johnson entering the portal, left the day with fewer players than it started with. The Tigers finished with the No. 18 recruiting class according to the 247Sports class ranking. Auburn added 23 players to the roster, 18 high school signees, and five transfers.

The group is led by four-star linebacker Robert Woodyard who is ranked as the No. 13 linebacker and No. 141 overall player in the country. The class also features three top 10 JUCO players, No. 1 player Jeffrey M’ba, No. 1 cornerback Keionte Scott, and No. 1 safety Marquise Gilbert.

Of the transfers, most notable is the addition of not one, but two quarterbacks. Auburn added former Texas A&M starter Zach Calzada and former Oregon Duck Robby Ashford.

With the additions and subtractions let’s grade every position group ahead of the 2022 season, this grade will focus more on the coming season than long-term projection.

Travis Etienne feels he would fit ‘perfectly’ in Jets backfield

The Clemson running back likes the idea of playing in New York.

Clemson running back Travis Etienne is one of the most explosive players in the 2021 draft. He also thinks the Jets would be a great place to end up later this month because of his ability as a rusher and a pass-catcher.

“I feel like my game would fit perfectly [on the Jets],” Etienne told NFL Network’s Bucky Brooks on the “Move the Sticks” podcast. “I feel like if I’m there it’ll be a great situation ‘cause I feel like I’m a guy you can put in any offense and make the best out of it.”

Etienne isn’t wrong. He finished the 2019 season in the top five in yards per rush, total scrimmage yards and total touchdowns, and then finished 2020 sixth in scrimmage yards with 1,502. He tied for eighth with 16 total touchdowns. Etienne concluded his sensational four-year career with 7.8 yards per touch.

Etienne’s talent would pair well with Mike LaFleur’s offense, which should be more run-heavy – much like Kyle Shanahan’s scheme in San Francisco. Etienne finished above the 80th percentile in forced missed tackles and yards after contact, according to Pro Football Focus, and ranked third in yards per routes run with 2.26, according to Jets X-Factor.

The problem with Etienne is his blocking leaves a little bit to be desired. His PFF pass-blocking grade was 42.8. The Jets will need more blocking out of their running back, though it wouldn’t necessarily have to be Etienne that does it. The beauty of the 49ers-style offensive scheme is the number of running backs it inevitably requires. Raheem Mostert led the 49ers in pass blocking by a lot, while Jeff Wilson Jr. was the primary run blocker.

Running back isn’t a major area of need for the Jets in this draft, though, so picking Etienne would be more of a luxury than a necessity. They already have La’Mical Perine, Ty Johnson, Josh Adams and Tevin Coleman on the roster. That doesn’t mean Joe Douglas wouldn’t grab Etienne if he fell, but the Jets have bigger holes to fill – namely, offensive line and cornerback – and likely wouldn’t use the 23rd, 34th or 66th pick on a running back when other positions need support.

Former Alabama RB Trent Richardson will play professional football in Mexico

Former Alabama RB Trent Richardson will join the Mexican American Football league, where he will serve in a role that is still unknown.

Former Alabama running back Trent Richardson has announced he will be playing professional football again after a two-year hiatus from the sport. He most recently played for the Birmingham Iron in the defunct AAF.

Richardson was drafted No. 3 overall in the 2012 NFL draft by the Cleveland Browns, where he played one season before being traded to the Indianapolis Colts. His time in the league, due to underwhelming performance, was cut short.

Now, Richardson will be playing in the Mexican American Football league for the Claudillos de Chihuahua.

His role for the team is still unknown, as he discussed during his introductory press conference.

“We’ve talked about everything in our meetings that we’ve been having. So who knows? I might play,” said Richardson. “I might be a part of making decisions or helping out bringing awareness or I might be a part of [the defense], all of the above. So we’ll see.”

Richardson was given a jersey, that he put on, and given a warm welcome.

WACTH: Najee Harris evades entire LSU defense to score first TD of game

Alabama strikes first in the contest between the two SEC West rivals. Najee Haris found his way into the end zone after an impressive ope…

No. 1 Alabama takes on unranked LSU on the road for a night game in Death Valley, and the Crimson Tide has not frgotten what happened when the two last met in 2019.

On the first drive of the game, which last seven plays for 75 yards, Najee Harris somehow find his way into the end zone for the first touchdown of the contest.

The 14-yard run that resulted in a touchdown almost seemed too easy for Harris, who wiggled in and out of defenders; breaking through the defensive front, then the linebackers and finally, the secondary.

Alabama is heavily favored in this game and the early touchdown should not have come as a surprise to those who have watched the two teams this season.

WATCH: Josh Jacobs hits Falcons defender so hard he flies

Former Alabama runningback Josh Jacobs runs straight through a Falcons defender, pushing him so hard, he flies back a few yards.

Former Alabama running back Josh Jacobs was known for his ability to run fast, be light on his feet and hit hard. Well, those skills have followed him to the NFL with the Las Vegas Raiders.

In today’s contest against the Atlanta Falcons, Jacobs showcased his ability to hit hard on a run.

With the ball tucked away, Jacobs had a one-on-one look against a Falcons defender. He lowered his shoulder and lifted him up, sending the defender flying back a few yards.

This is nothing new for Jacobs, he’s been making headlines for his downhill-style of running since the 2018 Orange Bowl when he seemingly ran through a Sooners’ defender that stood between him and the end zone.

You can watch Jacobs’ play from today below:
