Rickea Jackson records 11th 20-point game in the Lady Vols’ win at Arkansas.

Tennessee (19-9, 11-2 SEC) defeated Arkansas (19-9, 6-7 SEC), 87-67, Thursday at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

The Lady Vols had five players score 10-plus points and two players post double-doubles against the Razorbacks.

Rickea Jackson totaled 25 points and 12 rebounds for Tennessee. Jackson recorded her 11th 20-point game this season, the eighth in SEC play, and 24th double-digit effort of 2022-23.

Jordan Horston finished with 15 points, 10 points and six assists for Tennessee.

Tess Darby recorded 11 points and six rebounds. Jordan Walker and Jasmine Powell had 10 points each. Walker posted six rebounds and four assists.

Powell eclipsed 1,000 career points, now standing at 1,007.

Erynn Barnum scored 25 points for the Razorbacks.

Rickea Jackson ties the Lady Vols’ free throw record in double overtime loss at Mississippi State.

Mississippi State (16-7, 5-5 SEC) defeated the Lady Vols (17-9, 9-2 SEC), 91-90, in double overtime on Monday at Humphrey Coliseum in Starkville, Mississippi.

The contest was the fourth multiple overtime game in Tennessee history.

Tennessee led, 81-78, after Jordan Walker converted a 3-point attempt early in the second overtime. The Lady Vols did not lead again.

Rickea Jackson converted 13-of-13 free-throw attempts for the Lady Vols. Jackson’s 100% effort tied a school free-throw record set by Gail Dobson on March 1, 1975 against Union.

Tennessee’s 37 made free throws ties for the third-most in school history (37 versus Vanderbilt on Jan. 19, 1997). The Lady Vols’ 44 attempts tied an effort versus Alabama on March 6, 1994. The 84.1 percentage set a season high for the Lady Vols.

Kellie Harper is thrilled to welcome Rickea Jackson and Jasmine Powell to the Lady Vol family.

Tennessee head coach Kellie Harper confirmed Wednesday she has received SEC Grants-in-Aid and Institutional Financial Aid Agreements from incoming transfers Rickea Jackson and Jasmine Powell.

Jackson comes to Tennessee from Mississippi State, while Powell arrives from Minnesota.

“I am thrilled to welcome Rickea and Jasmine to our Lady Vol family,” Harper said in a UT press release. “I’m excited about Jasmine’s ability to create scoring opportunities for herself and teammates both in transition and in the half court. The versatility, skill set and size that Rickea has will allow her to be aggressive and make plays from multiple positions.

“We are excited to add all of our newcomers with our returning players and begin preparation for the 2022-23 season. I look forward to coaching them and seeing what we can all build together.”

Rickea Jackson commits to Tennessee

Rickea Jackson commits to the Lady Vols.

Rickea Jackson announced her commitment to Tennessee on Thursday.

“I’m here,” Jackson said on Twitter.

The 6-foot-2 forward played at Mississippi State from 2019-21.

Jackson appeared in 67 games for the Bulldogs, averaging 16.2 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. She totaled 50 blocks and 52 steals.

Jackson came to Mississippi State from Detroit Edison Public School Academy in Detroit, Michigan.

She entered the NCAA transfer portal on Jan. 24.

“I have decided to enter my name into the transfer portal and find a new place to call home,” Jackson announced in January.
