Team USA defeated No. 12 Tennessee, 95-59, Sunday in an exhibition game at Food City Center.

Team USA led, 52-31, at halftime.

Rickea Jackson (15) was the lone player to score 10-plus points for the Lady Vols.

Jillian Hollingshead scored eight points, while Tess Darby and Kaiya Wynn scored seven points each.

Team USA played the first of two exhibition contests against college basketball teams.

Team USA will play Duke on Nov. 12 at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, North Carolina. Tipoff is scheduled for noon EST. Former Lady Vol Kara Lawson serves as Duke’s head coach.

Jackie Young scored 13 points to lead Team USA against the Lady Vols.

Lady Vols’ Rickea Jackson named to Cheryl Miller Award watch list.

Lady Vols’ forward and fifth-year senior Rickea Jackson has been named to the 2024 Cheryl Miller Award watch list by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women’s College Basketball Coaches Association.

Jackson, a finalist for the award in 2023, is one of 20 players named to the preseason watch list.

The award is named after three-time Naismith Player of the Year Cheryl Miller. She played at USC and was inducted into the Naismith Hall of Fame in 1995.

The award is issued annually to the best small forward in NCAA Division I women’s college basketball.

Jackson, a semifinalist for the award in 2021, averaged 19.2 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game last season. She is a three-time WCBA All-America Honorable Mention and three-time All-SEC standout.

Tennessee’s Rickea Jackson totaled a game-high 22 points. She recorded eight rebounds, one steal and one block in 32 minutes for Team USA.

Jackson converted 10-of-18 field goal attempts versus Brazil.

She averaged 14.6 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.

Tennessee’s Jewel Spear scored six points and one assist for Team USA. She converted 2-of-8 field goal attempts and 2-of-7 three-point attempts.

Spear averaged 5.6 points and 1.4 rebounds per game.

Two Lady Vols earn First Team All-SEC honors

Jordan Horston and Rickea Jackson named all-conference by league’s coaches

A pair of Lady Vols’ senior basketball players received First Team All-SEC honors by the league’s coaches.

Guard Jordan Horston and forward Rickea Jackson were named on the first team.

Horston received first-team honors for the second consecutive season, becoming the fourth Tennessee player to earn first-team honors since 2012, joining Meghan Simmons, Isabelle Harrison and Rennia Davis.

Jackson, a transfer from Mississippi State, was named to the first-team all-conference squad for the first time in her career. She was a second-team selection while playing for the Bulldogs in 2019-20.

The Lady Vols join LSU and South Carolina to have multiple first-team all-conference players in 2023.
