Eagles agree to deal with long snapper Rick Lovato

The Eagles return two key free agents after agreeing to terms with long snapper Rick Lovato and punter Braden Mann on a two-year extension.

Philadelphia had one of the NFL’s top special teams units down the stretch in 2023, and they return all the core members after agreeing to terms on Tuesday with long snapper Rick Lovato on a one-year extension and punter Braden Mann on a two-year extension.

Both players were scheduled to become unrestricted free agents on Wednesday.

Lovato is the third-longest-tenured member of the Eagles after the departures of Fletcher Cox and Jason Cox having signed with the Eagles late in the 2016 season.

He’s one of four remaining members of the Super Bowl LII Championship team still on the roster.

Lovato He’s played in all 133 games (including playoffs) since arriving in Philadelphia, earning Pro Bowl honors following the 2019 campaign.

The NFL announced their selections for this year’s Pro Bowl and five Eagles made the list. The Birds are led by right guard Brandon Brooks, defensive tackle Fletcher Cox, tight end Zach Ertz, center Jason Kelce, and talented long snapper Rick Lovato.

For Brooks, it’s his third selection in a row, while it’ll be the third time in his career for Zach Ertz.

It’s the fifth selection for All-Pro Fletcher Cox.

The Philadelphia Eagles announced that they have signed long snapper Rick Lovato to a four-year contract extension through 2023.

After going undrafted in the 2015 NFL Draft, Lovato signed with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent. After bouncing around with the Bears and Packers, Lovato found a home with the Eagles in 2016.
