Where Wisconsin football is positioned in On3’s team recruiting rankings for 2025

Where Wisconsin football is positioned in On3’s team recruiting rankings for 2025

Wisconsin football currently sits at No. 21 in On3’s industry team recruiting rankings for the class of 2025. The program recently rose in the ranking after landing four-star lineman Hardy Watts earlier this week.

The Badgers notably sit ahead of the Washington Huskies, Kentucky Wildcats, South Carolina Gamecocks and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in the nation’s top 25. Ohio State, Oregon, Michigan and Rutgers are the only Big Ten opponents ranked ahead of UW for their 2025 recruiting efforts thus far.

247Sports, another major recruiting outlet, ranks Wisconsin’s class of 2025 at No. 16 in the nation after the addition of Watts. The Badgers have secured 22 commitments through July 3, and will look to leapfrog other programs with other pledges later this summer.

Wisconsin’s class of 2025 rose to as high as No. 11 in the nation after a rush of commitments at the start of June. The group then slipped as other top programs added top recruits, and after four-star cornerback Rukeem Stroud flipped his commitment to UCF.

Still, UW’s 2025 recruiting cycle includes six blue-chip players and an average player rating of 88.29. The Badgers’ aggressiveness and efforts in states outside the Midwest points to an upswing in future player acquisition.

Wisconsin will direct its remaining class of 2025 recruiting focus to remaining top targets three-star wide receiver Muizz Tounkara, four-star defensive lineman Kade Pietrzak and four-star running back Byron Louis.

Duke football coach Manny Diaz picked up four commitments on Sunday, and with 18 members of his 2025 class now, the Blue Devils are in the top 20.

After four commitments on Sunday, the Duke Blue Devils are inside the top 20 in the 2025 football recruiting rankings.

Duke head coach Manny Diaz picked up a two-way star and a trio of offensive linemen on Father’s Day, and there are now 18 members of the Blue Devils’ recruiting class.

As of Monday morning, the team sits 20th in the 247Sports’ 2025 Recruiting Rankings and fourth among ACC teams. Only five other schools in the country have more than 18 commits of their recruiting class.

Linebacker Cameron Smith, the only four-star player in the class, leads the way as a top-200 prospect in the country. Diaz also picked up two other linebackers, four offensive linemen, four defensive backs, and three defensive linemen.

Duke also found a quarterback of the future with three-star prospect Dan Mahan from Burlington, North Carolina.

Keep an eye on Diaz and the recruiting trail as he tries to build his image of the Duke football program.

Alabama is trending toward landing this four-star 2024 EDGE prospect

Kalen DeBoer has been hitting the recruiting trail hard over the past few days and it’s starting to pay off.

When Alabama hired former Washington head coach Kalen DeBoer as Nick Saban’s successor, one of the biggest concerns of Crimson Tide fans was about his ability to recruit. Well, those worries may be put to rest soon, as he’s been putting in some serious work on the recruiting trail.

DeBoer, a native of South Dakota, has spent time in Big Ten country, California and the Pacific Northwest as a coach. The lack of experience in the Southeast led many to believe that he may have a hard time recruiting those in the area, and difficulty conniving prospects from other parts of the country to move down and play for Alabama.

Yesterday, DeBoer landed a commitment from 2024 five-star wide receiver Ryan Williams, who is an in-state recruit. This was important because not only is Williams from Alabama and a stellar player, but he de-committed from the Tide after Saban retired and tested the waters. DeBoer and his coaching staff managed to reel him back in over the likes of Auburn, Texas, LSU and Texas A&M.

Now, it looks like the program is trending toward landing another big-time 2024 recruit in four-star EDGE from Arizona, Noah Carter.

Carter was originally a Washington signee when DeBoer was the Huskies’ head coach, but he was released from his National Letter of Intent after the coaching change was made in Seattle.

Andrew Bone, a recruiting expert from On3, recently put in a projection for Alabama to land Carter.

Overall, On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) has the Crimson Tide with a 78.8% chance to land Carter, Washington with a 19.6% chance and Louisville with a 1.0% chance.

247Sports: Former Texas HC Mack Brown a Top 5 recruiter of all-time

247Sports calls Mack Brown one of the top recruiters of all-time.

Former Texas head coach Mack Brown knew how to recruit. It is one of the many reasons why his Longhorns were able to sustain consistent success for a decade in his time in Austin.

Brown’s teams had nine consecutive 10-win seasons during one stretch of his tenure. It’s that kind of consistency that had many pining for Texas to return back to greatness after its fall off in 2010. Recruiting was the engine that guided Texas to that level of success.

247Sports recently listed Mack Brown in its top five recruiters of all-time. Former Alabama head coach Nick Saban won the top spot followed by Urban Meyer, Pete Carroll, Bobby Bowden and a fifth place tie between Alabama’s Paul “Bear” Bryant and Texas’ Mack Brown.

The list puts Brown in elite company, but the recognition is earned. The former Texas head coach secured several top five recruiting classes and five-star recruits over his time in Austin. By winning over big names like Chris Simms, Roy Williams and Vince Young among others, Brown helped build Texas into the brand it is today.

Recruiting established Texas football’s presence in the early 2000’s. It built a legacy for legendary head coach Mack Brown. The Longhorns’ current staff strives to live up to that recruiting standard as it heads toward the SEC.

Where Penn State’s latest recruiting class ranks on 247Sports, On3, and Rivals

Where is Penn State’s Class of 2024 recruiting class ranked by 247Sports, On3, and Rivals?

Another early signing period for college football is about to draw to a close, and Penn State will once again be happy to have locked in a consensus top-15 recruiting class. With 25 commitments officially signed in the early signing window on the recruiting calendar, Penn State’s latest haul sets the Nittany Lions up for adding quality depth across the roster and add some players that will have some big roles in the years to come.

And the latest recruiting class is considered among the best in the Big Ten and the nation according to the updated recruiting class rankings from various recruiting news outlets.

Penn State ranked 14th in the class rankings from 247Sports. The Nittany Lions are the third highest-ranked team in the recruiting rankings without a five-star commitment. Oregon (no. 6), Florida State (no. 9), and LSU (no. 11) all are ranked higher than Penn State despite not having a five-star commitment at this point in time according to 247Sports.

Penn State is the second highest-ranked team currently in the Big Ten behind only Ohio State, and one spot ahead of Michigan, but incoming Big Ten member Oregon also came in ahead of the Nittany Lions.

Penn State was one spot lower in the class rankings from On3, checking in at no. 15 nationally and third among Big Ten members as of the 2024 season (Ohio State is no. 3 and Oregon is no. 6). Like the 247Sports rankings, Penn State is ahead of Michigan with the two-time defending Big Ten champions ranked no. 17 in the On3 class rankings, one spot ahead of incoming Big Ten member USC.

Penn State also carries a no. 15 ranking from Rivals in the updated class rankings, but they do come in behind Michigan on the Rivals list. Michigan ranked no. 12 in the updated class rankings from Rivals. But like the other two rankings already mentioned, Penn State is also ranked behind Ohio State (no. 5) and Oregon (no. 7) on the Rivals class rankings.

Georgia topped the class rankings on all three recruiting coverage outlets and Alabama is a consensus top-3 school with the no. 2 ranking from 247Sports and On3 and a no. 3 ranking from Rivals. Texas took the no. 2 spot on the Rivals ranking but is no. 5 on both the 247Sports and On3 rankings. Miami is also a consensus top-five school in the recruiting rankings as well with a no. 3 ranking from 247Sports and a no. 4 ranking from On3 and Rivals.
