5 Texas A&M players Alabama fans must know ahead of Week 6 matchup

Here are five players from Texas A&M that Alabama fans MUST know before the Week 6 matchup.

Top-ranked Alabama will host an unranked Texas A&M team that is riddled with storylines that include avenging a 2021 loss and an offseason feud featuring Nick Saban and Jimbo Fisher.

The game, while originally thought to be a contest with College Football Playoff implications has turned into anything but. Though the Crimson Tide will have to play a strong four quarters to walk away with a win, the Aggies aren’t expected to put up much of a fight.

As the game gets closer, fans need to be on the lookout for some impact players from the opposing team.

Here are five members of the Texas A&M roster that Alabama fans must know before Week 6 kicks off.

Describing every Big Ten team with one word through Week 5

Can’t believe we’re nearly halfway through the season!

We’re almost halfway through the college football regular season, and we’re starting to get a clearer picture of what each team in the conference is.

Clearer, but not clear.

Some teams are what we expected: Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Maryland. Others are surprises in a good way: Minnesota, Illinois; and in a bad way: Michigan State, Wisconsin, Nebraska. Others are still finding their way.

Now that each team has five games under its belt, we’re distilling what each is into just one word that describes what we’ve seen thus far. Here is how we view every Big Ten team through Week 5.

Remember when Texas A&M became a speed bump in Alabama’s 2022 CFP run?

Relive the moments from last year’s upset when the Crimson Tide fell to the Aggies.

Alabama welcomes the Texas A&M Aggies to Bryant-Denny Stadium for a Week 6 matchup that many people had circled on their calendars since this time last year.

In 2021, the Aggies defeated the Crimson Tide in Kyle Field, which ultimately ended up being a minor speed bump for the Crimson Tide en route to another College Football Playoff semi-final win and a national championship appearance.

However, for Texas A&M, the win was a sense of accomplishment. Head coach Jimbo Fisher became the first former Nick Saban assistant to beat Saban and the program felt like it was moving in the right direction.

In the 2022 offseason, Saban and Fisher had a public feud over name, image, likeness policy (NIL), which led to people thinking this game has even more on the line, as the feud would be settled on the gridiron.

Now through five weeks of the 2022 season, the Aggies are unranked and Fisher’s seat is beginning to warm up.

Relive the moments from last year’s contest between these two programs where the Crimson Tide fell to the Aggies.

Predicting every Big Ten college football game in Week 6

A few games to keep an eye on this weekend.

There are six Big Ten games and 12 teams playing this weekend in Week 6 action. The exception is Minnesota and Penn State having a bye week.

If you’re looking for an offensive explosion then you can tune into the Purdue and Maryland game at noon EDT. Both teams are coming off big wins last week. The Boilermakers defeated Minnesota and the Terps took care of the Spartans.

Both Michigan and Ohio State look to keep their undefeated seasons rolling this week. The Wolverines play Indiana in Bloomington and the Buckeyes travel to East Lansing to take on Michigan State.

Illinois will look to take control the of West division on Saturday when it plays Iowa at home. The Fighting Illini scored 34 points last week against Wisconsin and Illinois will have equally as tough, if not tougher, of a defense this weekend against the Hawkeyes.

Here are our predictions for all six Big Ten games this weekend.

Big Ten bowl projections from College Football News after Week 5

Big Ten football bowl projections from College Football News after Week 5 #GoBucks #B1G

Our friends over at College Football News have provided us with their updated bowl projections after the completion of Week 5, and it appears the Ohio State Buckeyes’ position within the projections has stayed the same. This makes sense considering Ohio State has been extremely impressive so far this season.

It was another insane week in the Big Ten with Ryan Day and Greg Schiano almost coming to blows during the Ohio State Buckeyes and Rutgers Scarlet Knights contest, the Michigan Wolverines flexed their muscle against the Iowa Hawkeyes, and, of course, the Wisconsin Badgers were embarrassed by the Illinois Fighting Illinois.

Let’s now dive into where each Big Ten team is slated according to Pete Fiutak of CFN.

Auburn Wire staff make their weekly SEC predictions

The staff makes their predictions for Week 6.

Week 6 of the 2022 college football season has arrived with Auburn and Georgia renewing their hatred for one another. Who has the edge in the 127th Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry game? We will get to that in just a moment.

There has been plenty of chatter about the offense and the head coach of the Auburn Tigers this week, but for now, let’s just discuss the action on the field. The Tigers are in need of a win with another top-10 opponent looming next week when Auburn travels to Oxford.

Georgia is looking to prove they haven’t lost a step despite how the team has performed over the last two weeks. In anticipation of this matchup, Auburn Wire laid out their predictions for the game and the rest of the SEC schedule.

Tale of the Tape: How does Oklahoma matchup against the Texas Longhorns?

As Oklahoma and Texas get set to meet in the Cotton Bowl, who has the edge for this year’s Red River Showdown?

The 118th meeting between the Oklahoma Sooners (3-2, 0-2 Big 12) and the Texas Longhorns (3-2, 1-1) features two teams with varied outlooks through the first five games of the season.

Oklahoma, losers of two straight in 2022, have won four straight matchups against the Longhorns dating back to the 2018 Big 12 championship game. But they head into Red River Showdown as touchdown underdogs to a Texas team that appears to be trending in a positive direction despite two early-season losses.

Texas lost to Alabama at home by one point on a field goal in the final minute of play. A fumble on the first play from scrimmage by Bijan Robinson sunk Texas in overtime against Texas Tech, who kicked the game winner on their first possession in the extra period.

The Cotton Bowl and the Red River Showdown provides an atmosphere where the strange and atypical can happen. Much like we saw a year ago when the underdog Texas Longhorns took a 38-18 lead into halftime, this game can take on an odd complexion regardless of how the two teams have performed in the weeks ahead.

Bryant Crews provided his keys to the game and Ben Dackiw laid out what Oklahoma has to do to pick up a win.

Let’s get ready for the Red River Showdown with this week’s tale of the tape.

Five Texas Longhorns to know in this year’s Red River rivalry

Taking a look at five key Texas Players to know ahead of the clash with the Oklahoma Sooners in the Red River Rivalry game.

In a year, Oklahoma and Texas’s annual date in Dallas looks incredibly different. There’s a new coach on Oklahoma’s sideline, and the quarterbacks that participated in the game a year ago transferred to different schools.

Here we are, preparing for another Red River Showdown, and for Texas, they seem like the much more stable team heading into the game. They don’t have the massive injury concerns Oklahoma does, and they’ve played pretty consistent football all season.

Texas enters with two losses. One was to Alabama in an incredible environment in Austin, going blow for blow with a college football heavyweight. Their second was a road loss to Texas Tech in overtime on by three points.

Oklahoma is in a rough spot right now and if they don’t show up ready to play, they could get blown out for the second straight week. Texas features some NFL-caliber skill players that can give the Oklahoma defense fits if unprepared.

For the uninitiated, we mapped out the five Texas players to know heading into the matchup.

Ranking Big Ten quarterbacks in Total QBR after Week 5

Ranking Big Ten quarterbacks by Total QBR after Week 6. Is C.J. Stroud still hanging onto the top spot with J.J. McCarthy of Michigan now included for the first week? #GoBucks

Another week is down in the Big Ten and it’s time for us to check in on which conference quarterbacks are doing the best at their position, including Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud.

The metric we like to use more than any other is ESPN’s Total QBR rating because we find it to be a better indicator of performance because it takes into account many other things others don’t including the level of competition.

According to ESPN, Adjusted Total Quarterback Rating “values the quarterback on all play types on a 0-100 scale adjusted for the strength of opposing defenses faced.”

OK. we’re game.

So where are Stroud and other Big Ten signal-callers following Week 5 of the college football season? Here’s a ranking of the top 15 based on quarterbacks that play an average of 20 action plays per game. That means Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy is in the rankings for the first time so it’s interesting to see where he is too.
