Pair of Chargers named to 2023 Pro Bowl

On Wednesday, the league released its entire roster of Pro Bowlers.

On Wednesday, the league released its entire roster of Pro Bowlers, which was decided by the fans, the players and the coaches around the league.

Chargers edge defender Khalil Mack and safety Derwin James were named to the AFC Pro Bowl Games team.

Named to his seventh Pro Bowl, Mack has proven to be a valuable addition to the team. He has 45 tackles, ten for loss, seven sacks and two forced fumbles.

Named to his third Pro Bowl, James, the do-it-all defender, has 106 tackles, five for loss, four sacks, four passes defended, two forced fumbles and an interception in 12 games this season.

This year’s Pro Bowl will have a new format, including a skills challenge and an AFC vs. NFC flag football game. It will be held on Feb. 5 in Las Vegas.

Several Chargers players were listed as Pro Bowl alternates: Running back Austin Ekeler (first), center Corey Linsley (first), quarterback Justin Herbert (second), long snapper Josh Harris (second), punter JK Scott (fourth) and returner DeAndre Carter (fifth).

Seahawks Quandre Diggs and Bobby Wagner named to Pro Bowl roster

The Seattle Seahawks had two players named to the 2022 NFL Pro Bowl roster, safety Quandre Diggs and linebacker Bobby Wagner.

Despite their first losing season since 2011, the Seattle Seahawks had two players named to the 2022 NFL Pro Bowl roster – linebacker Bobby Wagner and safety Quandre Diggs, the starting free safety for the NFC roster.

This year will mark Wagner’s eighth consecutive Pro-Bowl selection. He now ties quarterback Russell Wilson and Hall of Fame defensive tackle Cortez Kennedy for the second-most bids in Seahawks’ franchise history, with Hall of Fame left tackle left Walter Jones still in the lead with nine. As for Diggs, this marks his second year in a row to receive Pro Bowl honors.

In addition to Wagner and Diggs, the Seahawks also had four players named as alternates: quarterback Russell Wilson, left tackle Duane Brown, special teamer Nick Bellore and punter Michael Dickson.

3 former Crimson Tide stars make NFL Pro Bowl roster

Big-time honor for these former Alabama studs!

Nick Saban and Alabama have produced tons of NFL talent since the latter’s arrival to the Capstone in 2007. During the 2021 NFL Draft, the Crimson Tide tied a record with six first-round selections, matching Miami’s tally from 2001.

That pool of talent isn’t just riding the bench at the next level, either. According to the Ourlads NFL Scouting Service, Alabama has 43 players starting at various positions in the league.

While the majority won’t earn honors such as making the Pro Bowl (it’s just unlikely), the Tide will boast three former players in this year’s iteration.

Ryan Kelly of the Indianapolis Colts, Trevon Diggs of the Dallas Cowboys and Jonathan Allen of the Washington Football Team will represent their respective teams and conferences in the 2022 NFL Pro Bowl.

Stay tuned to Roll Tide Wire for all the latest on the Crimson Tide!

7 Seattle Seahawks named to 2021 Pro Bowl roster

The National Football League announced the 2021 Pro Bowl roster and a franchise-high seven Seattle Seahawks have made the squad.

The National Football League has announced the 2021 Pro Bowl roster and seven Seattle Seahawks have made the cut.

The Seahawks received the second-most votes of any team this year behind only the Steelers.

Although the Pro Bowl game itself will not be played due to the coronavirus pandemic, it is still a great honor to be named to the squad.

Here’s a look at who earned the nod this season.

Ravens have 7 players on 2021 Pro Bowl roster

The Baltimore Ravens didn’t quite get to 13 players on the 2021 Pro Bowl roster like they had last year but seven is nothing to sneer at.

Last year, the Baltimore Ravens set a record with 13 players making the Pro Bowl roster. The Ravens weren’t quite as dominant this season, and this year’s selections reflect that. With the Pro Bowl rosters released tonight, Baltimore officially has seven players making the cut — tying the Kansas City Chiefs, Green Bay Packers, and Seattle Seahawks for the most this season.

Baltimore Ravens on the 2021 Pro Bowl roster:

Player Position
Marlon Humphrey CB
Justin Tucker K
Calais Campbell DE
Matthew Judon OLB
Patrick Ricard FB
Orlando Brown Jr. T
Morgan Cox LS

While the Ravens’ 9-5 record is nothing to sneer at, it’s pretty far off the 14-2 they went last season. However, Baltimore might actually be better prepared for the playoffs this time around as they’ve steadily improved their play over the last three weeks and have shown far more grit in close wins and losses than they did last season. Unfortunately, they’ll have to not only win a few more games to get into the postseason but get a little help from other AFC teams.

Of course, Ravens fans would much rather see the players in Super Bowl LV than the Pro Bowl. But with the 2021 Pro Bowl canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, if Baltimore can manage to punch their ticket to the big game, none of the players should have to forfeit their spot this year. Instead of the typical football game, the NFL is working with the NFLPA to create some virtual activities. What exactly those end up being is anyone’s guess right now but this might just be the jab in the right direction for a Pro Bowl game that has always struggled to attract viewers or interest.

Bills LB Tremaine Edmunds added to Pro Bowl

Buffalo Bills linebacker Tremaine Edmunds has been named to the 2020 Pro Bowl roster.

A second Buffalo Bill has been named to the 2020 Pro Bowl.

Sophomore linebacker Tremaine Edmunds was added to the roster on Thursday afternoon, replacing New England Patriots defender Dont’a Hightower.

It’s a fitting culmination to what was a fantastic year for Edmunds, who tallied 115 tackles, nine sacks, and 1.5 sacks throughout the 2019 season. He quarterbacked a Buffalo defense that finished third in the NFL in total yardage, serving as an irreplaceable player on a 10-6 team that nearly won a postseason contest.

At just 21 years of age, Edmunds is one of the youngest players to ever be named to the Pro Bowl.

As of now, he’s one of two Bills who will take part in this year’s Pro Bowl. Cornerback Tre’Davious White was named to the AFC’s Pro Bowl roster in December.

Find out who will replace Mike Evans at the 2020 Pro Bowl

Which wide receiver will fill in for injured Buccaneers receiver Mike Evans at the 2020 Pro Bowl?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers played some of their best football in the second half of the season, and, not surprisingly, wide receiver Mike Evans was a big reason why. The Pro Bowl receiver had another monster year for the Buccaneers, becoming just the second receiver ever to begin his career with six-straight 1,000-yard seasons.

Evans finished the 2019 season with 67 receptions for 1,157 yards and eight touchdowns, but went down with a hamstring injury in Week 14 that sidelined him for the rest of the season. His stellar play, however, was still good enough to earn him Pro Bowl honors. But, given his injury, Evans will have to sit out the 2020 Pro Bowl.

So, who will be replacing Evans?

Cooper is more than deserving of a selection. He collected 79 receptions for 1,189 yards and eight touchdowns.

Notre Dame Football: Four Former Domers Headed to Pro Bowl

Finally, Ronnie Stanley who we discussed more thoroughly just a few days ago because of his truly elite pass blocking grades is headed to his first ever Pro Bowl.

Tuesday night brought news of the 2020 Pro Bowl rosters in the NFL and as a surprise to none, Notre Dame was well-represented as four former Fighting Irish football players were named to the NFL All-Star rosters.

Perhaps the least surprising news is that three of the four players to earn a berth to the Pro Bowl make their living on the offensive line.

It’s becoming a late December tradition but Nick Martin, right guard of the Dallas Cowboys was named to his sixth straight Pro Bowl on Tuesday.  Martin has made the game each of his six years in the league.

Joining him at the guard position will be Quenton Nelson of the Indianapolis Colts. Nelson has transformed the Colts from having one of the poorest offensive line units in the league to one of the better ones and will be participating in his second Pro Bowl of his two-year NFL career.

Finally, Ronnie Stanley who we discussed more thoroughly just a few days ago because of his truly elite pass blocking grades is headed to his first ever Pro Bowl.  He is one of a record 12 Baltimore Ravens to be selected for the game, a game he very well could miss since his Ravens appear to be the best thing going in the NFL right now and could very well be getting ready for the Super Bowl on Pro Bowl Sunday.

And defensively Harrison Smith of the Minnesota Vikings is headed to the Pro Bowl for the fifth season in a row.  Smith has again been a bright spot on a Vikings team that has seen the rest of it’s secondary begin to a look a little long in the tooth this season.  Smith has picked off three opponents passes this season while forcing and recovering a couple of fumbles each as well.

The 2020 Pro Bowl will take place at Camping World Stadium in Orlando on January 26.
