The College Football Playoff poll is showing the Longhorns respect following the K-State win.

The Texas Longhorns are moving up the charts following a huge road victory over then No. 13 Kansas State. The win propelled the Longhorns six spots in Tuesday’s College Football Playoff rankings.

Texas came in at No. 18 after an impressive showing against K-State. This week’s opposing team saw their ranking improve this week as well.

The TCU Horned Frogs were one of the biggest stories of last week’s playoff poll. Sonny Dykes team rose from No. 7 to No. 4 this week after Tennessee, Alabama and Clemson underperformed in losing efforts.

The takeaway for TCU is that it controls its own destiny after securing a top four ranking this week.

With the release of the third College Football Playoff Rankings, Wisconsin saw themselves on the rise yet again while the top four remained steady.

In the latest rankings for the College Football Playoff released Tuesday night, Ohio State has leapfrogged LSU for the top spot following Saturday’s convincing win over Penn State.

Chase Young, the consensus top prospect in the 2020 NFL draft class, was instrumental in the Buckeyes’ big win, dominating the Nittany Lions all game long.

LSU is two weeks removed from taking down Alabama, but they drop to No. 2 in the latest rankings, followed by Clemson and Georgia.

While the Tigers drop to No. 2, they’re still undefeated, and led by Joe Burrow, the top quarterback prospect in this year’s draft class.

The Crimson Tide come in at No. 5, while Utah grabs the No. 6 spot, taking advantage of an upset loss by Pac-12 rival Oregon last week.
