3 Browns poised for stand-out performances vs. Jets

These three #Browns could make a huge difference in the team’s effort to stay undefeated against the #Jets

The Cleveland Browns will look to stay undefeated in Week 2 when they take on the New York Jets at FirstEnergy Stadium on Sunday. Building on their success against the Carolina Panthers on the NFL’s opening weekend, the Browns seem primed to make something special happen against the lowly Jets, and have their revitalized offense ready to prove that their Week 1 performance wasn’t a fluke.

With a full head of steam and a motivated roster, Cleveland is prepared to show the league that these aren’t the Browns of years past. Here are three players to keep your eyes on when Cleveland takes on New York in Week 2:

5 players to watch in Jaguars vs. Commanders

These five players could make or break the #Jaguars’ hopes of securing a win in Week 1.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will kick off their regular season on the road tomorrow against the Washington Commanders. Both teams are in the midst of rebuilds, seeking to prove that they can be contenders in 2022 after disappointing campaigns last year.

This game will be a good test for the Jaguars, and with several key matchups set to determine the outcome, five players, in particular, are set to make or break Jacksonville’s hopes of getting their campaign off to a fast start.

Here are the players to keep your eye on in the Week 1 tilt:

10 Players to watch in Bears’ final preseason game vs. Browns

Here are 10 players we’re keeping an eye on when the Bears take the field this preseason one last time before the regular season begins.

The preseason is about to come to a close for the Chicago Bears, but before they finalize their rosters for the regular season, they have a date with the Cleveland Browns. The Bears take on the Browns this Saturday evening in their preseason finale, beginning at 6:00 p.m. CT. With one last preseason game, the starters get a chance for a tune up, the bubble players have one last opportunity to earn a roster spot, and the team can go for an undefeated record before the real games begin.

With the starters likely playing well into the second quarter, according to head coach Matt Eberflus, it seems every healthy player will take the field at some point on Saturday night. That gives fans plenty to watch for throughout the game. Here are 10 players we’re keeping an eye on when the Bears take the field one last time before the regular season begins.

5 Jaguars to watch in final game of preseason vs. Falcons

These five #Jaguars are either competing for their jobs or more playing time heading into the regular season.

After a week of joint practices with the Atlanta Falcons, the Jacksonville Jaguars are set to match up against them on Saturday afternoon with the intention of securing their first preseason win. It is unclear if the starters will make an appearance in the game, but with so many players fighting for depth spots on this talented Jaguars team, it might be better for them to sit.

The roster will contract from 80 players to 53 next week ahead of the regular season, so the scrum in Atlanta is certain to have huge implications for Jacksonville moving forward.

Here are five Jaguars to keep your eye on in the final preseason game:

5 Raiders to watch in preseason matchup with Vikings

Raiders vs Vikings kicks off shortly. Here are 5 Raiders to watch

Shortly the Raiders and Vikings will kick off for their preseason matchup. From the sounds of it, we won’t see much in the way of sure starters again, which is fine, because what we want to see are guys trying to prove they belong. Here are five of those players to keep an eye on today.

T Thayer Munford

The rookie seventh round pick has been the talk of camp of late. Mainly because, with Brandon Parker injured, Munford is getting increased snaps. He is also drawing raves from his teammates for the improvement he’s showed in his short time with the team.

I would expect Munford to get a large dose of snaps at right tackle as the team both looks to see what they have in the former Buckeye, but tries to find a solution at the right tackle spot.

RB Ameer Abdullah

James White retired this week. Why is that applicable? Well, because White was the outlet for Josh McDaniels’s offense out of the backfield for the past eight years and put up some impressive numbers in the process. Some think Abdullah can play that role for McDaniels in Las Vegas.

Abdullah had two catches for 23 yards in the Hall of Fame game, so keep an eye on him in this one as well.

WR Mack Hollins

For all the hype Hollins was garnering in camp leading up to the Hall of Fame game, he had just one catch for a loss in the game. That could just be McDaniels hiding his intentions for Hollins, but be on the look out to see if Hollins will peel back the curtain a little bit and show up today against the Vikings.

LB Darien Butler

Butler led the Raiders in tackles in the Hall of Fame game. All eyes should be on him again in this one with Denzel Perryman, Divine Deablo, and Kenny Young not expected to play. If he has a repeat performance, the undrafted rookie could make a strong push to make this roster.

CB Amik Robertson

There has been expectations of Robertson in each of his first two seasons that he never lived up to. Once again, there is talk that he could be pushing for playing time at outside cornerback. And with Trayvon Mullen still on PUP and Rock Ya-Sin, Anthony Averett not expected to play, Robertson should get his first shot to show what he brings to the tabkle. He didn’t play in the Hall of Fame game.

3 players we’re watching at the third day of Saints training camp

Will Alontae Taylor get first team reps at cornerback today? Three players we’re watching at the third day of Saints camp, via @RossJacksonNOLA:

We are heading into day three of New Orleans Saints training camp and there has already been a lot of excitement. The return of wide receiver Michael Thomas, defensive end Payton Turner making highlights, those weird Guardian Caps cushioning helmet-to-helmet contact. Each day, we’re pinpointing three players to watch as camp rolls along. On Friday, we start by revisiting one player thanks to some interesting rotations surrounding the cornerback battle.

11 players to watch as Packers open training camp

The Packers start training camp practices on Wednesday morning. Here are 11 players to watch during camp and the preseason.

The Green Bay Packers will open up training camp in 2022 on Wednesday. NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers is already stealing the show after reporting to camp looking like Cameron Poe. Aside from Rodgers, here are 11 players that I’ll be keeping close tabs on throughout training camp and preseason.

5 Alabama players who will improve their stats in 2022

These five players should see tremendous improvement in the 2022 season.

The start of the college football season is just around the corner. The 2022 SEC media days will take place this next week and within a couple of weeks, teams will return to the practice field to start fall camp.

With the season so close, I thought we could take a few moments to look at a handful of Alabama players who I believe are set to improve from the 2021 season.

I have decided not to include reigning Heisman Trophy winner [autotag]Bryce Young[/autotag] and dominating defender [autotag]Will Anderson[/autotag] on the list because that just seems unfair.

Instead, I am going to give you five players who may not have had a large role in 2021 but are poised to improve this fall.

Let’s roll!

4 Chiefs players to watch as mandatory minicamp begins

We’re keeping an eye on these 4 players as the #Chiefs progress through mandatory minicamp.

Mandatory minicamp kicked off for the Kansas City Chiefs on Tuesday.

Several teams had already begun mandatory minicamp, but the Chiefs were among 15 NFL teams to have their first of three practices on Tuesday. This is the first time that all 90 of the Chiefs’ players are required to get on the field and work together. There is still no live contact permitted during these practices, but the team can run 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 team drills as they did during OTAs.

Here are four players that you should keep an eye on once the team hits the practice field:

LSU vs. Iowa State: Stream, injury report, broadcast info for Friday’s NCAA Tournament opener

Here’s how you can tune in for the Tigers’ first-round March Madness matchup.

Though the news this week has been mostly dominated by the upcoming coaching search, LSU basketball is set to begin its March Madness journey on Friday.

The No. 6-seeded Tigers travel to Milwaukee to face the No. 11-seeded Iowa State Cyclones in the first round of the Midwest Region. The Cyclones finished the season 20-12, but their 7-11 record in Big 12 play made them just the No. 7 seed at the conference tournament, where they were eliminated in the first round by Texas Tech.

Still, Iowa State has a strong resume that features nine Quadrant 1 wins on the year, and it is a trendy first-round upset pick. LSU will hope to avoid being bounced early with interim coach Kevin Nickelberry at the helm.
