On Saturday afternoon, however, the Seahawks added a third player to the list – tackle Jamarco Jones – who was designated as questionable to play on Sunday due to an undisclosed illness. Jones is also inactive for Seattle.

Seattle promoted tackle Chad Wheeler from the practice squad to the active roster to ensure depth on game day.

With just under 90 minutes to kick-off, here’s a look at the inactive players for both the Seahawks and the Falcons.

Kick-off is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. PT from Mercedes Benz Stadium. Here’s everything you need to know to catch the action Week 1.

Seahawks Tuesday practice report: 3 wide receivers return to the field

Three Seattle Seahawks wide receivers returned to the practice field on Tuesday: Phillip Dorsett II, John Ursua, and Cody Thompson.

While the media isn’t allowed to report the majority of what goes on at practice throughout training camp, what the Seahawks release on their website is fair game.

Official practice and injury reports are not required until the week before the start of the regular season, here’s a round-up of who practiced and who didn’t on Tuesday, per the team’s official reporter, John Boyle.

As expected, three Seahawks wide receivers returned to practice after missing time over the last few days. On Sunday, coach Pete Carroll said Phillip Dorsett II, John Ursua, and Cody Thompson would resume work.

Cornerback Tre Flowers and defensive end Benson Mayowa were also present Tuesday on the practice field.

As for as those who did not participate, three Seattle players made the list: cornerback Shaquill Griffin, tackle Duane Brown and tackle Cedric Ogbuehi.

Coach Pete Carroll will likely provide more injury updates during his next press conference with the media.

Seahawks sign receiver Lance Lenoir, waive/injured RB Patrick Carr

The Seattle Seahawks added their second receiver in three days to add depth to their unit, which has struggled with injuries this offseason.

The Seattle Seahawks aren’t done making moves, even with final roster cuts looming at the end of this week. On Monday, the team announced that they have signed wide receiver Lance Lenoir and waived/injured running back Patrick Carr.

Lenoir spent each of the past three seasons with the Cowboys organization after going undrafted despite a record-setting career at Western Illinois University (3,796 yards, 31 touchdowns). He spent most of his rookie season on the practice squad before finally seeing the field at the end of the 2017 season, followed by a year in a special-teams role before a knee injury sent him to the injured reserve for all of 2019.

The move brings some depth to the Seahawks’ wide receiver unit, which has incurred injuries to Phillip Dorsett II, John Ursua, and Cody Thompson (although coach Pete Carroll has indicated that he expects the return of all three players very soon). On Saturday, the Seahawks also welcomed Paul Richardson back to the team, presumably to fill that need for depth.

Carr, who went undrafted this year out of the University of Houston, was previously waived by the Seahawks on July 26 before re-signing with the team on Aug. 14. He stopped practicing last week with an undisclosed injury and will land on the injured reserve if he clears waivers.

Receivers Dorsett, Thompson and Ursua could return to practice Tuesday

Seattle Seahawks wide receivers Phillip Dorsett II, Cody Thompson and John Ursua could return to practice from injuries as soon as Tuesday.

The Seahawks have been down a few wide receivers over the last few days as the players battled some minor injuries. All three – Phillip Dorsett II, Cody Thompson and John Ursua – could all come back as soon as Tuesday following Seattle’s off day.

“Phillip, if everything goes right over this one-day break, he’s going to be back in a limited fashion,” coach Pete Carroll told reporters after the team’s mock game on Sunday.

Dorsett has been suffering from a sore foot but the injury does not appear to be a new issue, according to Carroll.

“Phil, we’re going to have to figure out how he handles it,” Carroll continued. “We know what his condition is and his situation with the sore foot, we’ve just got to manage him really well.”

Carroll said both Thompson and Ursua also have a chance to return on Tuesday but did not provide further specifics.

Receivers John Ursua, Phillip Dorsett II sat out mock game with injuries

Two Seattle Seahawks wide receivers, John Ursua and Phillip Dorsett II, sat out Wednesday’s mock game with minor injuries.

The Seattle Seahawks were without a couple of wide receivers during Wednesday’s mock game, the second scrimmage of the summer at CenturyLink Field.

Wideouts John Ursua (hamstring) and Phillip Dorsett II (foot) are both battling minor injuries.

“Johnny just tweaked his hammy a little bit, it’s really slight, but enough to hold him out, not push it the very next day,” coach Pete Carroll said during his press conference.

Dorsett, on the other hand, has missed the last few practices and could be out for a couple more.

“Phillip’s got a sore foot that he’s had in and out for quite some time, and it just acted up,” Carroll explained. “So we have to rest him for a bit and see if we can get him back. He said he feels really good today after just a couple of days. It might be the kind of situation we’ve got to monitor and see what it takes to keep him feeling good, because he has had it for a while.”

Seattle has the day off on Thursday but resumes practice Friday at the VMAC.

Phillip Dorsett talks role in offense, Wilson-Brady comparison

Recently-acquired receiver Phillip Dorsett believes that he has more than just his speed to offer the Seattle Seahawks.

New Seattle Seahawks receiver Phillip Dorsett II was all smiles while speaking to the media on Friday.

“I’m just having fun,” he said at several different times, especially when speaking of his relationships with the rest of the wide receiver group. “We have a lot of fun in the Zoom meetings and on the field… we joke around a lot.”

On Thursday, coach Pete Carroll described Dorsett as “the fastest guy we’ve ever had here” during the former’s tenure with the Seahawks, also stating that the team is designing new plays that better incorporate the kind of speed that Dorsett reaches. Dorsett himself believes that he offers much more than that to Seattle’s offense.

“I always consider myself not just a deep threat, (but) a guy that can get in and out of my breaks and my cuts,” he said. “Hopefully, I can be able to show that more and more in this offense.”

Dorsett also spent plenty of time talking about Russell Wilson, drawing a specific comparison between him and his former QB, Tom Brady (“They’ve just got that ‘it’ factor”) while also praising Wilson’s “easy, catchable” deep passes and his “ultimate competitor” mentality. The two spent some time working out together over the offseason, building a rapport that was easily rekindled once the on-field portion of training camp started.

Overall, Dorsett’s time in Seattle thus far seems to have made quite the positive impression on him, which is what he was hoping for once they came calling during free agency. “It didn’t take much once I knew the Seahawks were interested,” he said. “It was an easy decision for me.”

If that signing continues to be as mutually beneficial as it appears thus far, Seahawks fans may well see an extension on Dorsett’s contract before the end of the season.

Pete Carroll says Phillip Dorsett II ‘fastest guy we’ve ever had here’

Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll believes wide receiver Phillip Dorsett II is the fastest player the team has ever had in training camp.

[jwplayer QZopmiKN]

The Seattle Seahawks added a speed demon to quarterback Russell Wilson’s arsenal of weapons this offseason when they signed wide receiver Phillip Dorsett II to the roster in March.

Dorsett ran track in both high school and college so it’s no surprise he is fast on the field.

“He’s the fastest guy we’ve ever had here,” Carroll told reporters during his Thursday press conference. “He runs in the time realms we don’t even think really exist, 4.2s and stuff. In our systems with Russ, the way Russ likes to bomb the football, he’s a big factor for us. We’re just installing stuff in the next couple of days that really accentuate those kinds of plays, and I’m really anxious to see him fit in.”

Dorsett was originally drafted by the Colts in 2015 at No. 29 overall. After two seasons in Indianapolis, he was traded to New England. This spring, he signed a one-year deal with the Seahawks.

Dorsett will look to secure the No. 3 spot heading into the 2020 regular season.

Seahawks make signing of wide receiver Phillip Dorsett II official

The Seattle Seahawks have officially announced the signing of former first-round pick, wide receiver Phillip Dorsett II.

The Seattle Seahawks have officially announced the signing of Phillip Dorsett II to bolster the wide receiving corps. Dorsett and Seattle had initially come to terms last week, according to a number of reports.

Dorsett was originally selected in the first round at No. 29 overall by the Colts in the 2015 NFL Draft out of Miami. He spent two years in Indianapolis before he was traded to New England, where he played for the last three seasons.

For the Patriots in 2019, Dorsett started four of fourteen games played, logging 29 receptions for 397 yards and five touchdowns, which were a career-high.

In Dorsett, the Seahawks have a solid No. 3 option in the wide receiver room behind starters Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf.

The Seahawks have been fairly active throughout the first couple of weeks of free agency. You can follow all of Seattle’s moves via our live tracker, which is updated regularly with reports and the most recent signings.
