Ohio State football trending to add another 2025 wide receiver

Another recent official visitor is leaning towards the Buckeyes. #GoBucks

Following Ohio State football’s official visitors from this past weekend, it seems like it was a huge success.

On Sunday the Buckeyes added running back Isaiah West, and on Monday, it’s looking like another one of the prospects on campus is trending to join him.

On3’s Director of Recruiting, Chad Simmons, has made a prediction that Ohio State will eventually get a commitment from California wide receiver [autotag]Phillip Bell[/autotag]. The 6-foot, 2-inch, 195-pound prospect is ranked as the nation’s No. 152 overall player and 16th rated at his position according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

With the recent addition of New Jersey’s Quincy Porter and De’Zie Jones, the Buckeyes have two of the nation’s best already in their class.

Ohio State wants at least three receivers, and if Simmons is correct, Bell would round out a great unit.

Gators offer blue-chip west coast wide receiver in 2025 class

The Gators offered a scholarship to one of the best pass-catchers on the west coast.

Scholarship offers have been flying out of Gainesville of late as Billy Napier and his army of staffers continue their tireless work on the college football recruiting trail. One of those offers was extended to four-star wide receiver [autotag]Philip Bell[/autotag] out of Mission Viejo (California) in the 2025 class by wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales.

The 6-foot-2-inch, 195-pound pass catcher pulled in 56 receptions for 1,002 yards and 12 touchdowns as a freshman and followed that up with 73 catches for 818 yards and 20 touchdowns as a sophomore with his previous school, Christian Brothers in Sacramento.

He has also been contacted by the Oregon Ducks, Ohio State Buckeyes, USC Trojans, Clemson Tigers, Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide, Michigan Wolverines, Wisconsin Badgers, Miami Hurricanes, UCLA Bruins, Colorado Buffaloes, Penn State Nittany Lions and Tennessee Volunteers, among others.

The high school junior is ranked No. 44 overall and No. 7 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 40 and 7, respectively.

Bell has a crystal ball prediction for USC from 247Sports while On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has the Trojans in front with a 25.4% chance of landing him; the California Golden Bears (15.1%), Colorado (6.8%) and Washington Huskies (5.6%) follow behind.

Sooners building foundation for future with flurry of offers for 2025 and 2026

Oklahoma gets a jump on its recruiting future, extending offers to a number of 2025 and 2026 prospects.

While the 2024 class is next up for the calendar year, recruiting future classes starts with years of relationships. Those relationships take time to build and don’t always develop overnight. It’s imperative to lay the foundation early on, which is why it should come as no surprise that the Sooners sent a  flurry of offers to 2025 and 2026 prospects in recent weeks.

Recruiting services have hardly evaluated them enough to rank them all just yet. These players have already received Power Five offers and look to be premier players who will eventually be significant prospects come their senior year.

We’ve taken the liberty to take a brief look at these 2025 and 2026 offers and offer a bit of insight about each.
