Georgia softball defeats the Lady Vols to even SEC series.

No. 3 Georgia (31-7, 7-4 SEC) defeated No. 6 Tennessee (29-6, 9-2 SEC), 3-2, Saturday at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.

With the victory, the Bulldogs tied the SEC series despite being outhit by the Lady Vols, 5-4. Georgia never trailed in the contest.

McKenna Gibson went 1-for-3 for Tennessee. She recoded one RBI, while Laura Mealer, batting in the leadoff spot in place of the injured Kiki Milloy, went 1-for-4 and recorded one run.

Alannah Leach went 1-for-3 and recorded one double. Rylie West went 1-for-3 and Destiny Rodriguez went 0-for-2. She recorded one RBI on a sacrifice fly.

Payton Gottshall (12-3) recorded a loss for the Lady Vols. She pitched six innings in relief and allowed one run and one hit, while recording seven strikeouts.

Charli Orsini started for the Lady Vols. She pitched one inning and allowed two runs, three hits and one walk. Orsini recorded one strikeout.

No. 4 Tennessee (28-4, 8-0 SEC) defeated Auburn (15-11-1, 2-9 SEC), 8-4, on Saturday at Jane B. Moore Field in Auburn, Alabama.

Tennessee won its 20th consecutive game and clinched a third straight series win.

Giulia Koutsoyanopulos went 2-for-4 and recorded one home run, two RBIs and one run for the Lady Vols.

McKenna Gibson went 2-for-4 and recorded one home run, two RBIs and one run, while Zaida Puni went 2-for-4 and totaled one home run, two runs and one RBI for Tennessee.

Taylor Pannell also hit a home run for Tennessee.

Tenessee will conclude its three-game series at Auburn on Sunday. First pitch is slated for 2 p.m. EDT (SEC Network+).

No. 4 Tennessee (27-4, 7-0 SEC) defeated Auburn (15-10-1, 2-8 SEC), 5-1, Friday at Jane B. Moore Field in Auburn, Alabama.

Friday’s win is Tennessee’s 19th consecutive. Tennessee remains the only undefeated team in Southeastern Conference play.

Catcher Sophia Nugent went 2-for-3 for the Lady Vols. She recorded a two-run home run, a solo home run, three RBIs and two runs.

Rylie West went 1-for-4 and hit a solo home run against the Tigers.

Payton Gottshall (12-2) pitched four scoreless innings in relief for Tennessee. She allowed three hits and recorded three strikeouts.

Karlyn Pickens started for the Lady Vols. She pitched three innings and allowed one run, one hit and two walks. Pickens recorded two strikeouts.

Payton Gottshall earns SEC Pitcher of the Week honors

Lady Vols’ Payton Gottshall earns SEC Pitcher of the Week honors.

Tennessee graduate student pitcher Payton Gottshall was named Southeastern Conference Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday, marking the third consecutive week a Lady Vol has won the award.

Gotshall pitched 12 innings and earned two shutout victories against South Carolina. She allowed five walks and recorded 18 strikeouts in three appearances last week.

Gottshall recorded her 1,000th career strikeout at Western Carolina. She also earned her first save of the season, pitching a scoreless 10th inning in Saturday’s victory against the Gamecocks.

The graduate student in her second season at Tennessee has recorded 1,011 strikeouts. She is the NCAA Division I active leader for strikeouts.

No. 7 Tennessee (25-4, 5-0 SEC) defeated South Carolina (22-9, 0-5 SEC), 7-0, Sunday at Carolina Softball Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina.

The Lady Vols won the series and is the only remaining undefeated team in the Southeastern Conference.

Tennessee has won 17 consecutive games.

Rylie West went 1-for-2. She recorded a two-run home run, a sacrifice fly, three RBIs and one run for Tennessee.

Laura Mealer went 1-for-2 and hit a two-run home run for the Lady Vols. McKenna Gibson went 2-for-4. She recorded one run and one RBI.

Kiki Milloy’s 18-game hit streak ended as she went 0-for-3. She recoded two walks and one run.

Payton Gottshall (11-2) pitched a complete game for Tennessee. She pitched seven innings and allowed three hits and four walks, while recording seven strikeouts.

Rylie West went 2-for-4 and totaled one home run, one RBI and one run.

The Lady Vols completed a Southeastern Conference series win against Missouri.

Tennessee also won its 13th consecutive contest and improved to 10-0 at home in 2024.

Taylor Pannell went 1-for-4 and hit a grand slam, while Bella Faw went 1-for-3 and hit a home run and scored three runs for Tennessee. Faw hit a home run in her second consecutive game.

Kiki Milloy went 1-for-3, recording three runs and one double, while McKenna Gibson went 2-for-3 and totaled two RBIs and one run.

Payton Gottshall (8-2) pitched a complete game for Tennessee. She allowed two runs, three hits and seven walks, while recording 10 strikeouts.

No. 8 Tennessee (19-4) defeated Howard (16-6), 11-4, Monday at Nationals Youth Academy in Washington, D.C.

Monday’s win is Tennessee’s 11th consecutive. The Lady Vols scored nine runs in the second inning.

Sophia Nugent went 4-for-5, recording two runs, one RBI and one stolen base for the Lady Vols.

Giulia Koutsoyanopulos went 2-for-5 and recorded one double, one triple, two runs and three RBIs for Tennessee.

Laura Mealer went 2-for-3, recording two RBIs, one run and one stolen base, while McKenna Gibson totaled two hits, one run and one RBI.

Tuesday’s win is the Lady Vols’ sixth consecutive.

No. 9 Tennessee (12-4) won two games in the Tennessee Classic on Sunday at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.

Tennessee defeated Stetson (7-13) and Longwood (6-10).

The Lady Vols outlasted the Hatters, 3-2, and run-ruled the Lancers, 12-1.

Against Stetson, Destiny Rodriguez went 1-for-3 and hit a winning RBI on a solo home run in the sixth inning.

Kiki Milloy went 1-for-1, recording two runs, three stolen bases and one walk, while Rylie West went 1-for-2 for one double and one RBI.

Zaida Puni hit an RBI on a groudout for Tennessee.

Karlyn Pickens (6-2) pitched 2.1 innings of scoreless relief. She allowed one hit and one walk, while recording five strikeouts.

In Tennessee’s second game, the Lady Vols defeated the Lancers in five innings.

Milloy hit two home runs and recoded three RBIs, while West hit a grand slam and McKenna Gibson hit a two-run home run in the third inning.

Payton Gottshall (5-2) pitched a complete game. She allowed one run, four hits, while recording six strikeouts.

Tennessee concludes tournament play on Monday against Longwood. First pitch is scheduled for noon EST.
