Georgia, Clemson target Hevin Brown-Shuler sets commitment date

Four-star DL Hevin Brown-Shuler is planning to decide where he will play college football.

The Georgia Bulldogs are in the mix for defensive tackle recruit Hevin Brown-Shuler. However, the Clemson Tigers are favored to land a commitment from the four-star defensive tackle, per 247Sports.

Brown-Shuler is a member of the class of 2024. He named a top 13 back in January. Georgia and Clemson a part of Brown-Shuler’s top schools list.

Hevin Brown-Shuler plays high school football for Pace Academy in Atlanta, Georgia. Georgia recently has had a lot of success recruiting Pace Academy. The Bulldogs landed offensive tackle Andrew Thomas several years ago along with offensive lineman Jamaree Salyer.

Hevin Brown-Shuler says that his recruitment is over. He plans to announce his commitment to the world on April 22 at 5:30 p.m. EST.

The talented Pace Academy defensive tackle has been participating in track and field events this spring.

The 6-foot-4, 290-pound defender is ranked as the No. 125 player in the class of 2024. Brown-Shuler is the No. 15 defensive line recruit and the No. 21 player in Georgia. Clemson has had a lot of success in recruiting the Peach State historically.

Brown-Shuler was named 6AA All-Region as a freshman. He is considering Georgia, Tennessee, FSU, Georgia Tech and Arkansas at the moment.

Georgia Bulldogs offensive lineman Jamaree Salyer is returning for another season at the University of Georgia. His return gives Georgia a big boost in offensive line experience. Salyer has logged 36 appearances in his college football career.

Salyer came to the University of Georgia as a five-star offensive guard recruit out of Atlanta, Georgia. Salyer started at left tackle for the first nine games of the 2020 season and then played left guard in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.

Salyer played high school football at Pace Academy with Andrew Thomas for three seasons before coming to Georgia. Salyer will hope to be as well regarded as his high school teammate when his career in Athens is over. Salyer is technically a junior, so he could comeback for another season.

Blount is a sound, fundamental blocker who knows his assignments. He fought through injuries in 2019. Before last season, Blount played in 14 games in both 2017 and 2018. He has four receptions for 52 yards in his career.

In 2020, Blount will compete for the receiver playing time in the position opposite George Pickens. Dominick Blaylock is recovering from a torn ACL. Georgia secured a top recruiting class in 2020 and has a wealth of talent at the wide receiver position. It will be position group competition to watch next season.
