Thoughts on Ohio State basketball’s loss to Purdue in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals

The fun run comes to an end #GoBucks

The magical run for [autotag]Ohio State[/autotag] basketball is over, as Purdue defeated the Buckeyes in the [autotag]Big Ten Tournament[/autotag] semifinals 80-66.

It was an exhilarating three days prior, as the Buckeyes became the first No. 13 seed to make it this far. Even though the team finished with a 16-19 record, there are still some very good aspects of this season that head coach [autotag]Chris Holtmann[/autotag] can lean upon for next year starting with his freshman that grew up during the season.

There was some good to come from this game and conference tournament, and here are my thoughts about the season-ending loss for Ohio State basketball.

Thoughts on Ohio State’s win over Wisconsin in the Big Ten Tournament

It got close late but the Buckeyes survive and advance. What were your thoughts #GoBucks

The [autotag]Ohio State[/autotag] basketball team looked like it was going to cruise to a win over Wisconsin in the first round of the [autotag]Big Ten tournament[/autotag], but the Badgers didn’t roll over easily.

They mounted a comeback bid that scared most Buckeye fans, but OSU pulled out the win 65-57.

Head coach [autotag]Chris Holtmann[/autotag] has to be happy with his team’s effort and resilience, knowing that playing spoiler was at stake tonight. The Buckeyes didn’t let in when the Badgers made it a game and now Wisconsin will have to wait until Selection Sunday to find out its fate.

There was plenty to like and some not in tonight’s Buckeye win. Here are my thoughts on the game.

Thoughts on Ohio State’s final home game of 2023, a win over Maryland

The Buckeyes finished their home slate with a dub #GoBucks

The final home game for the Ohio State basketball team was a successful one, defeating Maryland 73-62, getting an upset over a ranked team and sending the seniors off as winners.

Head coach [autotag]Chris Holtmann[/autotag] ends the home portion of this season with a record many wouldn’t have expected coming into 2023. The two-game win streak, regardless of how modest, shows that no one on this team threw the towel in late.

There was a lot to like about what the Buckeyes did against the Terrapins tonight. Here are my thoughts on the win that improves Ohio State’s record to 13-17 with one regular season game remaining.

Thoughts on Ohio State’s loss at home against Wisconsin

The Buckeyes basketball pain continues #GoBucks

For the eighth time in nine games, the [autotag]Ohio State[/autotag] men’s basketball team has put a mark on the wrong side of the ledger in the win/loss column. It’s been one of the worst stretches of basketball that I can remember the Buckeyes having.

This game looked like it was out of hand, only for Wisconsin to let the Buckeyes, without head coach [autotag]Chris Holtmann[/autotag] and freshman sensation [autotag]Brice Sensabaugh[/autotag], have life late but eventually holding them off, 65-60, to send the home team to an 11-11 record.

The reality of the Ohio State hoops situation is that they’re going to be at home in March watching worthy teams play in the [autotag]NCAA Tournament[/autotag]. It was another tough loss to swallow and here are my thoughts on the most recent Buckeye loss.

Thoughts on another Ohio State Basketball loss, its fifth straight

Another ugly conclusion. #GoBucks

Entering the New Year, the [autotag]Ohio State Buckeyes[/autotag] basketball team was 10-3 and looked like one of the best teams in the conference. New Year’s Day would be their last win, proceeding to drop five straight, their most recent tonight to a very average Nebraska team, 63-60.

It’s added to a very frustrating time for Buckeye basketball, inching towards .500 with every loss. Head coach [autotag]Chris Holtmann[/autotag] must have a warm seat right now, but with a few more losses it could be getting hotter.

Not much good came from this game, especially given the level of the opponent along with the long losing streak. This season has become increasingly frustrating and here some thoughts on the most recent loss.

What we learned about Ohio State’s fourth straight loss, this time at the hands of Rutgers

It’s been a tough stretch for the Buckeyes #GoBucks

The Big Ten isn’t easy and [autotag]Ohio State[/autotag] is finding that out the hard way. The Buckeyes had a chance to get back into the win column today on the road at [autotag]Rutgers[/autotag], but the Scarlet Knights didn’t give in and defeated the visitors 68-64.

It is the fourth straight loss for [autotag]Chris Holtmann[/autotag] and his squad, putting their record to 10-7 overall and 2-4 in Big Ten play. It has been a horrendous 2023 showing for this team, as they have started the new year 1-4, with their only win coming over two weeks ago at [autotag]Northwestern[/autotag].

It wasn’t a pretty game for the Buckeyes as evidenced by the score. Here is what we learned after another loss for Ohio State.

What we learned about Ohio State basketball’s loss to Minnesota

It feels like we keep saying it, but this loss hurts #GoBucks

This wasn’t how the Ohio State basketball team envisioned playing against a [autotag]Minnesota[/autotag] team that had yet to win a conference game this season. The Gophers battled [autotag]Ohio State[/autotag] all game, and never folded and kept playing hard.

The Buckeyes wouldn’t be able to match the visitors’ energy, resulting in a third loss in a row and potentially some panic starting in Columbus. The loss sends the Buckeyes to a 10-6 record.

Head coach [autotag]Chris Holtmann[/autotag] got his starting center back, [autotag]Zed Key[/autotag] (even though he came off the bench), but it wasn’t enough for Ohio State to get back into the win column.

It obviously wasn’t all pretty for the Buckeyes and here is what we learned about their 70-67 disappointing loss to Minnesota.

What we learned about Ohio State’s rout of Northwestern

Always lessons to be learned in a blowout #GoBucks

The Buckeyes got out to an early 22-6 lead and never looked back. It was a solid win for[autotag]Chris Holtmann[/autotag] and his squad, giving the Buckeyes their tenth win of the season to go with three losses.

There was a lot to learn from the return to Big Ten play for the [autotag]Ohio State[/autotag]. Even though they cruised for the majority of the game, it wasn’t all pretty for the visitors. The good news is that a road win is always a welcome sight and that’s exactly what Ohio State did. They took care of business on the road in the Big Ten. Find out what we learned about the Buckeyes 10th win of the season.

What we learned about Ohio State’s rout of Alabama A&M

It was a true tale of two halves for Ohio State but they pulled out the victory and finished off the year with a 9-3 record after defeating Alabama A&M 90-59. In this game we saw the return of two Buckeyes ahead of a stretch of conference play. …

It was a true tale of two halves for Ohio State but they pulled out the victory and finished off the year with a 9-3 record after defeating Alabama A&M 90-59. In this game we saw the return of two Buckeyes ahead of a stretch of conference play.

There were plenty of good things that came with this win for Chris Holtmann and this ever improving group. The freshman continue to impress and the depth obviously increased with two Bucks competing back after time off. Here is what we learned from Ohio State’s solid win against an overmatched Alabama A&M team before the New Year’s Eve and the big game.

What we learned about Ohio State following the OT loss to North Carolina

Here are some things we took away from Ohio State’s loss to North Carolina Saturday. #GoBucks

At one point during the second half, it looked as though the Buckeyes were going to pull away from the Tar Heels. But last year’s NCAA Tournament runners-up would not go away. They battled back and showed why it is so important to have veteran leadership.

The young Buckeyes struggled down the stretch, and the older UNC squad took advantage of the situation. This will be a tough loss to swallow, but there were still a few things that the Buckeyes did that will help them later in the year.

Here are a few things that we learned about [autotag]Ohio State[/autotag] after their tough 89-84 overtime loss to [autotag]North Carolina[/autotag].
