Former Ohio State hoops player Eugene Brown III has found his new home

Eugene Brown III will return to his home state of Georgia after entering the transfer portal in March.

Eugene Brown III made the decision to move on from Ohio State at the end of March. He spent three seasons with the Buckeyes, but the writing was on the wall with OSU freshmen getting the starting nods as the season wore on. With another highly touted class coming in this year, Brown thought it would be in his best interest to find a program where he could shine.

The Former Buckeye announced that he was coming home on his personal Instagram page stating that he had committed to Georgia Southern. Brown was a star at Southwest DeKalb High School in Conyers, Georgia, where he came to Ohio State as a four-star prospect in 2020.

Injuries kept Brown from seeing his full potential in the Scarlet and Gray but hopefully, things will fare better for the young man at his new home. Brown will have two years of eligibility remaining for the Eagles.

Eugene Brown III has made decision about his future at Ohio State

Best of luck EB3

This decision should not come as a surprise — Ohio State forward [autotag]Eugene Brown III[/autotag] has decided to enter the transfer portal.

The third-year player started 10 games this past year for the Buckeyes, averaging 3.5 points per game, along with 2.4 rebounds, while shooting 44.2% from the field.

Brown III had his moments, but it was pretty easy to see the writing on the wall after head coach [autotag]Chris Holtmann[/autotag] went with a much younger lineup towards the end of the season even though his minutes increased.

At this point in his career, Brown III is most likely looking for consistent playing time in a system that caters a bit more to his playing style. Holtmann played him as an undersized big man which didn’t suit his strengths.

Brown III will leave Columbus with a degree, and experience in a high-major program and should garner plenty of interest in the portal. Thank you Eugene for your contributions over the past three seasons.

Thoughts on another Ohio State Basketball loss, its fifth straight

Another ugly conclusion. #GoBucks

Entering the New Year, the [autotag]Ohio State Buckeyes[/autotag] basketball team was 10-3 and looked like one of the best teams in the conference. New Year’s Day would be their last win, proceeding to drop five straight, their most recent tonight to a very average Nebraska team, 63-60.

It’s added to a very frustrating time for Buckeye basketball, inching towards .500 with every loss. Head coach [autotag]Chris Holtmann[/autotag] must have a warm seat right now, but with a few more losses it could be getting hotter.

Not much good came from this game, especially given the level of the opponent along with the long losing streak. This season has become increasingly frustrating and here some thoughts on the most recent loss.

LOOK! Ohio State basketball back on the court for first workouts

The Ohio State basketball team had its first day of workouts on Tuesday. The team took to Twitter to share some images from the day.

With all the news swirling at whether or not we’ll have a college football season, and with Ohio State having to pause and resume voluntary workouts following COVID-19 testing, we got a little lost with the other revenue sport, college basketball.

Believe it or not, the Ohio State basketball team was back on the court Tuesday for its first resumption of workouts, and the team shared some pictures of the gang all back together.

In the photo (that appears to be dripping with effort and sweat), we get a look at C.J. Walker, Zed Key, Eugene Brown III, and E.J. Liddell.

We haven’t even scratched the surface of what the COVID-19 pandemic will mean for college basketball, and frankly, it might be a little too early. Hopefully, things proceed and everyone starts doing their part to manage this pandemic a little better so hoops season doesn’t have an interruption as well.
