Washington Wizards at Orlando Magic odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Wednesday’s Washington Wizards at Orlando Magic NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Washington Wizards (17-32) travel to meet the Orlando Magic (17-33) at Amway Center in Orlando Wednesday at 7 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Wizards-Magic odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

The Wizards play the second of a six-game road odyssey with a stop in O-Town. Washington kicked off the trip with a 103-101 loss against Toronto at Amalie Arena in Tampa.

The good news is that they covered the 5.5-point number as the Under cashed for the fourth straight outing.

The Magic just completed a five-game road trip against the Western Conference, going 2-3 SU/4-1 ATS while the Over connected in each of the past three.

These teams haven’t faced each other since a two-game set around the holidays in Washington.

Orlando swept the set, winning 130-120 on Dec. 26 as a two-point ‘dog, while willing 120-113 as two-point favorites on Dec. 27. The Over cashed in both games.

Wizards at Magic: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Magic 112, Wizards 109

Money line (ML)

The MAGIC (+125) are a value as short ‘dogs at home. Yes, they have a handful of players on the injury report, but Birch and MCW might be able to return.

The Wizards (-150) are just too risky heading into this one, losers of four in a row and seven of the past nine overall.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The MAGIC +3 (-110) are the play for those not quite feeling them straight up, although there isn’t a lot of wiggle room here.

Trust in Orlando, however, as they have covered six of the past seven games overall despite some injury issues.

The Wizards -3 (-110) are just 1-3 ATS in the past four, and they were swept by Orlando in the previous two.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 222.5 (-110) is the lean, but play it lightly. The Under has dominated for Washington lately, going 4-0 in the past four outings, and 6-1 in its past seven.

Yes, the Over is 3-0 in Orlando’s past three overall, and they hit the Over in their two-game sweep in late December at Washington.

However, the Wizards aren’t nearly as prolific on offense as the Denver Nuggets, Utah Jazz and New Orleans Pelicans, Orlando’s past three opponents. And both teams are banged up, and a shell of the offenses we saw back in December.

Orlando Magic at Denver Nuggets odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Sunday’s Orlando Magic at Denver Nuggets NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Orlando Magic (17-32) continue their road trip Sunday night against the Denver Nuggets (30-18). Their game is scheduled to tip off Sunday night at 10:10 p.m. ET in Ball Arena. Below, we analyze the Magic-Nuggets odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

Orlando wraps up its five-game road trip in Denver a night after getting absolutely demolished by the Utah Jazz 137-91. The Magic are 2-2 on the road trip so far and will face F Aaron Gordon, whom they traded to the Nuggets last week before the deadline.

The Nuggets are riding a four-game winning streak, and Sunday’s game against the Magic is the first of a five-game homestand. They are 13-3 in their last 16 games, and the addition of Gordon has changed them defensively. With him in the lineup, they have allowed only 97 points per game. Denver is in fifth place in the West but is one game out of the third seed.

Magic at Nuggets: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 11:00 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Magic +850 (bet $100 to win $850) | Nuggets -1600 (bet $1600 to win $100)

Magic at Nuggets: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Nuggets 115, Magic 102

Money line (ML)

The Nuggets are playing great basketball, have won four straight. The Magic have lost 14 of 17 games. However, the money line is ridiculous. Move to the spread and total.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

Orlando is surprisingly good against the spread this year. They are 25-23-1 ATS. Denver is an even 24-24 ATS. However, they have covered the spread in their last four games and in five of six. The Magic have covered the spread in five of their last six as well. However, they are short-handed. That was evident Saturday night. Utah is like Denver in terms of talent. That said, they are also 6-3 ATS when playing with no rest. The Nuggets win the game but won’t cover the 16.5 points. Take the MAGIC +16.5 (-110).

Over/Under (O/U)

Denver is 28-20 O/U, but five of their last seven games have gone Under the total. Orlando is 23-25-1 O/U and an even 4-4 O/U in their last eight. This total isn’t that high so take OVER 213.5 POINTS (-115).

Orlando Magic at Utah Jazz odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Orlando Magic at Utah Jazz NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Orlando Magic (17-31) travel to meet the Utah Jazz (37-11) at Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City Saturday at 9 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Magic-Jazz odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

The Magic have racked up back-to-back road victories over the Los Angeles Clippers and New Orleans Pelicans, and they have covered five in a row, all as an underdog.

The Jazz topped the Magic 124-109 in Orlando as 9.5-point favorites back on Feb. 27, and they enter on an eight-game win streak overall. They have scored 111 or more points in 24 straight games dating back to Feb. 7.

Magic at Jazz: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 7:10 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Magic +1150 (bet $100 to win $1,150) | Jazz -2500 (bet $2,500 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Magic +16.5 (-110) | Jazz -16.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 214.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Magic at Jazz: Key injuries

Magic

Magic at Jazz: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Jazz 117, Magic 103

Money line (ML)

There is never a reason to bet a money line like the Jazz (-2500), which would net you $4 on a $100 wager.

AVOID.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The MAGIC +16.5 (-110) are a little banged up, and Birch and MCW are question marks due to non-COVID illnesses. But Orlando has picked up straight-up wins in the past two, and they have covered five in a row.

The Jazz -16.5 (-110) will win, but the Magic will do enough to grab a cover. Plus, Utah just played Friday night, grinding out a 113-106 win, and they’re just 2-5 ATS across the past seven against teams with a losing overall mark.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 214.5 (-110) is my favorite play on the board in this game, as Utah’s offense has been on point. You know you’re going to get anywhere from 110-120 points with Utah. As such, the Over is a good play with such a low total.

Orlando Magic at New Orleans Pelicans odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Thursday’s Orlando Magic at New Orleans Pelicans NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The New Orleans Pelicans (21-25) host the Orlando Magic (16-31) Thursday at Smoothie King Center for an 8 p.m. ET tip-off. Below, we analyze the Magic-Pelicans odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

Orlando stole a game from the Los Angeles Clippers Tuesday, winning 103-96 as an 11-point road underdog. The Magic have covered the spread in four straight games while going 2-2 straight up.

These Magic covers were against four of the top-6 seeds in the Western Conference. The last three covers have been since they unloaded PF Aaron Gordon and C Nikola Vucevic at the trade deadline.

New Orleans has won four of five games while going 4-1 against the spread. The Pelicans have won back-to-back games with the latest coming against the Boston Celtics by a 115-109 score as 3-point road underdogs Monday.

The Pelicans are currently 12th in the West and are 1.5 games back of the 10th-seeded Memphis Grizzlies, for the final spot in the postseason play-in tournament.

Magic at Pelicans: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 3:55 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: Magic +140 (bet $100 to win $140) | Pelicans -165 (bet $165 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Magic +4 (-110) | Pelicans -4 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 214.5 (O: -105 | U: -115)

Magic at Pelicans: Key injuries

Magic

  • PG Cole Anthony (ribs) out
  • SG Gary Harris (thigh) out

Pelicans

  • PG Lonzo Ball (hip) questionable

Magic at Pelicans: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Magic 114, Pelicans 109

Money line (ML)

Slight “LEAN” to MAGIC (+140) because I’m betting Orlando to cover the spread and the Pelicans will be without their first-, second-and third-leading scorers.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

Both teams have been covering the spread for bettors recently but the Pelicans are more superstar-reliant.

This is a problem since their two young stars will miss this game, and I’m higher on Orlando head coach Steve Clifford than New Orleans’ Stan Van Gundy.

This is the prototypical game where the young Pelicans underperform. New Orleans is 5-10 ATS this season as a home favorite and 5-9 ATS at home against sub-.500 teams. Essentially these trends indicate the Pelicans sleep on bad teams.

Furthermore, according to CleaningTheGlass.com, New Orleans is 6-8 overall with the 22nd-best net points per 100 possessions and a minus-3.1-point ATS margin vs. teams in the bottom-10 of points per 100 possessions differential.

BET MAGIC +4 (-110) for 1.25 units.

Over/Under (O/U)

PASS because a major reason why New Orleans has played in the highest percentage of Overs this season is because of its terrible defense and, again, the Pelicans will be without their top-3 scorers.

Even though my predicted score is lower than the total, I “LEAN” Over 214.5 (-105) because anyone can make threes against this Pelicans defense and I’m sure New Orleans will resort to chucking threes thanks to injuries.

Orlando Magic at Los Angeles Clippers odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Tuesday’s Orlando Magic at Los Angeles Clippers NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Orlando Magic (15-31) visit the Los Angeles Clippers (32-16) at Staples Center Tuesday for a 10 p.m. ET tip-off. Below, we analyze the Magic at Clippers odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

Magic at Clippers: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Clippers 118, Magic 95

Money line (ML)

The Clippers (-550) will cost you five-and-a-half times your potential return. Even in a parlay with multiple teams, that’s not a good bet. AVOID.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The CLIPPERS -10.5 (-110) are a good play on their home court against the flailing Magic +10.5 (-110). Yes, the Magic played the Lakers hard on Sunday night, but that Los Angeles team is dealing with several injuries to key personnel, including its top two players. This L.A. team isn’t. The Clippers will roll, carrying over the momentum from Monday’s 129-105 win over the Bucks.

Over/Under (O/U)

The UNDER 217.5 (-110) is the way to go here. Orlando has really had a rough time putting points on the board lately. Even with no Anthony Davis or LeBron James, the Magic posted just 93 points against the Lakers. They have scored 105 or fewer points in four of the past five and less than 100 in six of the past nine.

The Under is also 4-0 in the past four for Orlando as a road underdog and 4-0-1 in their past five against teams with a winning record. While the Clippers have hit the Over in four of their past five at home as a favorite, the Under is 12-3-1 in the past 16 against teams with a losing record and 5-2 in the past seven when playing on no rest.

Orlando Magic at Los Angeles Lakers odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Sunday’s Orlando Magic at Los Angeles Lakers NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Orlando Magic (15-30) are on the road to face the Los Angeles Lakers (29-17) Sunday night. Tipoff is at 10:10 p.m. ET at the Staples Center. Below, we analyze the Magic-Lakers odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

The Magic are kicking off a five-game road trip after having unloaded several players at the trade deadline. They dealt Evan Fournier, Aaron Gordon and Nikola Vucevic. They gained Wendell Carter, Gary Harris, Otto Porter and R.J. Hampton, as well as a few draft assets and trade exceptions in the deals. They have won only two of their last 14 games.

The Lakers snapped a four-game losing streak Friday with a 100-86 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. They continue to be without their two best players in LeBron James and Anthony Davis, who are both out injured. L.A. has two games left in their homestand before they hit the road for seven straight.

Magic at Lakers: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Sunday at 9:18 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Magic +200 (bet $100 to win $200) | Lakers -250 (bet $250 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Magic +6.5 (-110) | Lakers -6.5 (-110)

Magic at Lakers: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Lakers 105, Magic 96

Money line (ML)

Orlando sports one of the league’s worst records on the road at 5-15. No team has fewer wins away from home. They have lost six straight road contests. The Lakers, despite the recent losing streak, have only lost one of their last eight games when favored. So the best bet, albeit a chalk play, for this game is to take the LAKERS -250.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

Orlando is used to playing as the underdog. This is their 14th straight game not being favored. They are 22-22-1 ATS overall on the season and 16-17-1 ATS as dogs. They have gone 5-2 ATS over their last seven games. However, the Lakers have not had had a win in which they did not cover the spread since February 10. They are 21-24 ATS overall, but their ATS losses are usually actual losses. I expect the Lakers to win, so I expect their covering trend to also continue. Take the LAKERS -6.5 (-110).

Over/Under (O/U)

No team has gone Over the total less than the Lakers this season. Their Over percentage is 34.8%. Five of their last six games have gone Under. They have scored over 101 only once in their last five games. The Magic have the second-lowest scoring offense in the league at 104.6 points a game. They are 3-5 O/U in their last eight games. Take UNDER 208.5 POINTS (-110).

Orlando Magic at Boston Celtics odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Sunday’s Orlando Magic at Boston Celtics NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Orlando Magic (14-27) drop by the TD Garden Sunday for a 3:30 p.m. ET afternoon game against the Boston Celtics (20-21). Below, we analyze the Magic-Celtics odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

Orlando snapped a nine-game losing skid by upsetting the Brooklyn Nets 121-113 Friday as 10.5-point home underdogs.

Despite currently underperforming pre-season expectations, the Magic are cashing tickets for backers recently and are 5-1-1 ATS in their previous seven games.

The Celtics have lost three straight and four of their last five including a 106-97 loss to the sliding Sacramento Kings as 7-point home favorites Friday. Boston is just 3-4 overall and 2-5 ATS so far this month.

Boston beat the brakes off of Orlando 124-97 back in January and has won four straight vs. the Magic (3-1 ATS) dating back to last season.

Magic at Celtics: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 10:25 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Magic +290 (bet $100 to win $290) | Celtics -375 (bet $375 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Magic +8.5 (-110) | Celtics -8.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 215.5 (O: -110 | U: -110)

Magic at Celtics: Key injuries

Magic at Celtics: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Celtics 114, Magic 109

Money line (ML)

PASS because while on paper Boston is the better team, there’s no way someone can back the Celtics (-375) at this price based on how they’ve played recently.

Boston collapsed in the fourth quarter of its loss the other night to Sacramento, only scoring 15 points, and lost to the lowly Cleveland Cavaliers two nights prior.

The Celtics should be closer to a -250 money line favorite and still that wouldn’t be a good bet.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

TAKE MAGIC +8.5 (-110) for 1 unit partially because Orlando has been cashing ATS tickets lately and as a fade against a slumping Boston team.

The Celtics are 2-4 ATS at home against losing teams this year, 0-4 ATS when laying between 7.5-9.5 points and 0-6 ATS in day games.

According to CleaningTheGlass.com, the Magic shoot the highest volume of mid-range shots in the Association, and the Celtics are 25th in defensive mid-range field goal percentage.

Finally, we can fade the market in this spot as nearly 75% of the money is on the Celtics to cover, according to Pregame.com.

It’s profitable generally to be on the same side as the House, and bookmakers are actually making Boston’s spread cheaper despite the pro-Celtics money.

Over/Under (O/U)

GIMME OVER 215.5 (-110) for 1 unit.

The Celtics defense has the 2nd-worst defensive rating in March, giving up the 4th-most second-chance points per game and 5th-worst defensive effective field goal shooting.

Furthermore, the Over has cashed in four consecutive Magic-Celtics meetings, five of Orlando’s previous eight games and Boston has scored 120.6 points per game in its last three vs. Orlando.

If you also like the Over here, wait closer to tip-off because the market is taking the Under.

Nets at Magic: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Nets 119, Magic 102

Money line (ML)

PASS on this money line as Nets (-550) is just too big of a risk despite how likely they are to win this game.

Brooklyn has won 14 of their last 15 games so instead take a look at the point spread as it offers more value on the Nets.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

NETS -10.5 (-110) is our play here as Brooklyn has covered the spread in 12 of their last 15 games.

Kyrie Irving is scheduled to return in this game, making the Nets incredibly dangerous on offense, even without Kevin Durant in the lineup. This is arguably the best team in the NBA and can outscore anyone on any night.

Orlando is 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games, but it doesn’t have the offensive firepower to stay close with the Nets.

Look for this to be a blowout early and for the Nets to ultimately win by double digits. It would not be a surprise at all if the margin of victory in this game was near 20 points.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 223.5 (-110) is our play here and that is rare considering this game will feature the No. 1 ranked scoring offense in the Brooklyn Nets.

The Nets are averaging 120.6 points per game this season, with the Over hitting in 14 of 19 road games.

However, the Orlando offense just isn’t very talented and they will struggle to keep pace and “push” the Nets in this game.

The Magic currently have the second-worst offense in the NBA, scoring just 104.3 points per game.

Look for them to come in around that mark again on Friday, which should lead to the Under hitting at the Amway Center.

Magic at Heat: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Heat 109, Magic 99

Money line (ML)

The Heat (-275) are strong favorites to win this Sunshine State battle on its home floor against the banged-up and skidding Magic (+220). While Miami should win, risking nearly three times your potential return is not a recommended long-term betting strategy. AVOID.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The HEAT -6.5 (-110) are a good play in this one against the rival Magic +6.5 (-110), and they’re coming off a solid 103-93 road win at New Orleans  Thursday. Miami is on a 7-1 SU/ATS heater, pun totally intended, across the past eight games. Meanwhile, Orlando has dropped five in a row, and they’re just 1-3-1 ATS across the span.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 214.5 (-110) is the way to go. Miami has hit the Under in three in a row, and it’ll be without one of its top players in Adebayo. Orlando ranks 28th in the NBA with just 105.6 PPG, and they’re 30th in field-goal percentage at 43.2, so they won’t be filling up the basket any time soon.

Hawks at Magic: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Magic 112, Hawks 107

Money line (ML)

The MAGIC (+140) are a good play on their home court as short ‘dogs. The Hawks (-160) are playing on back-to-back nights in Florida after winning a low-scoring 94-80 game in Miami Tuesday night. They’re playing their third game in four days, and rust could be a factor for Atlanta.

The Magic are a little banged up. Fournier left Monday’s game briefly due to a groin injury, although he was able to return. Still, his lower-body ailment is a concern since he is an integral part of the offense in O-Town.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The MAGIC +4 (-110) are catching two buckets from the Hawks -4 (-110). Orlando slinks in on a four-game losing skid, and they’re just 1-3 ATS across the past four, including 0-2 ATS in the past two at home. There is risk on both sides, however.

Atlanta enters 1-4 ATS in the past five trips to Orlando, and 2-6 ATS in the previous eight meetings. The Hawks are also 5-13 ATS in the previous 18 when playing on no rest. Just go lightly.

Over/Under (O/U)

The UNDER 224.5 (-110) is the play, as Atlanta could have some tired legs on its third game in four days. The Under is 10-4 in Atlanta’s past 14 as a favorite, while Orlando has hit the Under in four of the past five at home against teams with a losing road mark.
