Wisconsin was the beneficiary of one of the greatest commitment switch-ups of all time

This one is worth watching

National Signing Day used to rock the sporting world, with top recruits across the country going live on ESPN or online and choosing one of the hats laid out in front of them. There have been great switch-ups since this tradition began. None bigger than 2022’s No. 1 overall player Travis Hunter choosing Jackson State out of absolutely nowhere.

Wisconsin does not usually find itself in the middle of these situations. The nation’s top 50 recruits are rarely in play for the Badgers.

Well, that was not the case yesterday. Class of 2024 four-star cornerback Omillio Agard was set to announce his college decision with a hat for Clemson, Michigan, Alabama, Penn State and Tennessee laid out in front of him.

I’ll defer to the video for what happened next.

Agard is 247Sports’ No. 352 player in the class of 2024, No. 30 cornerback and No. 9 player from his home state of Pennsylvania.

The Philadelphia native is Fickell’s fourth blue-chip recruit in the class and 15th overall commitment. The class currently ranks No. 27 in 247Sports’ rankings.

The Badgers received the commitment of four-star class of 2024 cornerback Omillio Agard (Philadelphia, PA) on Saturday. The 5-foot-10 athlete pulled out all the stops during his announcement, using an iconic Wisconsin anthem while making his decision.

Agard will be joining the Badgers from St. Joseph’s Prep, a school that they’ve offered multiple athletes from. He selected Wisconsin over 30 other Division 1 offers, including the likes of Michigan and Penn State within the Big Ten.

Agard is the fourth secondary player to commit to Wisconsin for 2024, joining three-star safeties Kahmir Prescott (Philadelphia, PA) and Raphael Dunn (Lawrenceville, NJ) as well as three-star cornerback Jay Harper (Valley, AL). Overall, Agard is the third-highest ranked recruit for Luke Fickell’s class of 2024 so far.

Clemson Crystal Ball tracker: Every 2024 recruit predicted to sign with Clemson

Things are heating up for the Tigers in the 2024 class. Here is a crystal ball tracker to keep you up to date.

Dabo Swinney and the Tigers reportedly had a superb recruiting weekend in Clemson, with a long list of top recruits attending and enjoying everything Clemson has to offer.

The Tigers’ strong showing this past weekend was massive for the program as a team that lives and dies with recruiting as others take advantage of the transfer portal, which has become a significant part of some programs’ roster development. Different strokes for different folks, Swinney and Clemson are good at what they do and stick to it.

We’ve seen recruiting success before, and after the weekend, it seems more to come as multiple top recruits have received crystal ball predictions over the past few days. With the activity, we decided to put together a tracker for these predictions.

Oklahoma sends offer to Philadephia prep school cornerback Omillio Agard

Oklahoma joins the race for Philadelphia area cornerback Omillio Agard, issuing an offer to the four-star prospect.

Oklahoma has gone to work recruiting the northeast since Brent Venables has taken over. In 2023, they signed a pair of players, Phil Piccioti and Logan Howland, from that neck of the woods.

In the [autotag]2024 recruiting class[/autotag], they’ve offered multiple prospects from that area, and this past weekend, they added to that growing list by offering composite four-star cornerback Omillio Agard.

Agard hails from Philadelphia, where he attends St. Joseph’s Prep School. The 5-foot-10 corner excels with physicality at the line of scrimmage despite not being the biggest player on the field. He showcases the ability to jam and reroute receivers while also showing a willingness to come up and tackle.

Agard is being pursued by a number of Power Five schools like Clemson, Penn State, Tennessee, Michigan, and Alabama. Clemson and Penn State look to be early frontrunners, but at this time, it may be too early to call the race.

Four-star cornerback will take an official visit to Michigan

Hope to see him in the maize and blue!

In December of 2022, Michigan football made the final five for four-star defensive back Omillio Agard. The Wolverines were a finalist with Clemson, Penn State, Tennessee and Alabama.

Fast forward to March, Michigan football is in the hunt for Agard, and he announced via Twitter that the maize and blue would be one of four schools he planned to take an official visit to this summer.

The four-star cornerback out of St. Joseph’s Prep in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, announced he planned to visit Clemson in early June, the Volunteers in the middle of June and Penn State in late June. The date for his official to Ann Arbor are to be determined.

According to the 247Sports composite, Agard is the 23rd-ranked corner in the country and the 303rd-ranked player in the nation.

There is one crystal ball predicting Clemson to get the services of the four-star corner.

Michigan is crushing it in 2024 recruiting. The Wolverines have the third-ranked class in the country on the composite. The maize and blue have one defensive back committed in the class: safety Jacob Oden.

While Clemson may be leading for Agard, it sounds as if Michigan has a fighting chance to impress him and get him into this stellar class.

Michigan football a finalist for two big targets

Hope we land these guys!

Michigan football is off to a hot start recruiting the 2024 class. The Wolverines have four commitments and three of those players are four-star commits based on the 247 composite.

The Wolverines are still waiting on 2023 recruits to make their decisions, but Michigan has a number of 2024 recruits it is targeting. One of those 2024 targets is four-star defensive back Omillio Agard.

Agard is a cornerback from Philadelphia St. Joseph’s Prep (Pennsylvania). The composite lists him as the 22nd-ranked cornerback in the class of 2024. The 5-foot-10 recruit announced his top five on Monday afternoon. Michigan is in his top five along with Alabama, Clemson, Penn State and Tennessee.

Here is what Agard told On3:

“Michigan is one of the most intriguing schools,” Agard said. “They have the best academics while having the best football I can play. I can really see myself blossoming as a star in Ann Arbor. I love coach Clink, and coach Harbaugh is one of the coolest coaches!”

He plans to make his destination known this summer.

Transfer portal update:

The Wolverines appear to be active in the transfer portal.

Michigan has already landed Arizona State transfer LaDarius Henderson and the maize and blue have a chance to add a lineman on defense.

Coastal Carolina edge defender Josaiah Stewart announced a top three on Monday. The Wolverines are being considered along with LSU and USC.

Stewart has two years of eligibility remaining, and he has put together some excellent stats.

He broke Coastal Carolina’s single-season sack record during his freshman season with 12.5 sacks and was voted as a freshman All-American. This past year he totaled 36 tackles, 10 TFL and 3.5 sacks.
