Jeremy Scott de-commits from Ole Miss.

Mississippi wide receiver Jeremy Scott opened up his recruitment on Saturday. Scott had been committed to Ole Miss.

As a senior at Callaway High School (Jackson, Mississippi), Scott had 40 catches for 496 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. Those are all numbers that are career highs.

Physically impressive, the class of 2024 recruit is a 6-foot-4, 185-pound wide receiver with a big catch radius,

Scott had been committed to Ole Miss since mid-March. He also holds Power Five offers from Arkansas, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt.

In a message posted to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, Scott said that after prayer and conversations with his family, he decided it was in his best interest to open up his recruitment.

Scott has not posted any updates on where things might go next in his recruitment.

Who is new Ole Miss commit Brazilian point guard Eduardo Klafke?

Eduardo Klafke, a point guard out of Brazil who plays for NBA Academy Latin America, committed to Ole Miss.

NBA Academy Latin America is showing its chops as a home for elite prospects throughout the Central and South Americas. Eduardo Klafke, a 17-year-old Brazilian point guard who plays at the academy, has committed to Ole Miss, ESPN reported.

Klafke is Ole Miss’ third commitment in the class of 2024. The Rebels are leaning into new recruiting avenues, as none of the three play for traditional United States high schools: Jason Jackson and John Bol are both with Overtime Elite, while Klafke is from Brazil.

Who is this new Ole Miss recruit?

A bit is known about Klafke, who is described by analysts including Jonathan Givony as a sharpshooter. The averaged 8.6 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals per game over seven games in the 2023 FIBA U19 World Cup, according to 247Sports. The recruiting site described him as a “notable standout” at the NBA Basketball Without Boarders Global Camp in Utah during the NBA all-star break.

In the 2022 U18 Americas Championship, he averaged 13.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.0 steals while shooting 42% from the floor and 45% from 3, per 247Sports.

According to the Clarion Ledger, sources disagree on Klafke’s height. 247Sports and the FIBA basketball page both list him at 6-foot-1 but On3 has him at 6-foot-3 and the NBA Academy says he’s a whopping 6-foot-5.

Klafke had offers from Creighton and Xavier in addition to Ole Miss. He has yet to receive any stars on the 247Sports rankings.

The Brazilian will help attempt to build Ole Miss men’s basketball back up when he starts at the school in a year. The Rebels have been below .500 in both of the last two years and have not had an NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament since 2019.

4-star QB Austin Simmons finishes high school 2 years early, plans to enroll at Ole Miss

Austin Simmons passed for more than 3,000 yards. He can throw a 93 mph fastball. He had a 5.34 GPA. He just committed to Ole Miss and reclassified from 2025 to 2023.

Four-star quarterback Austin Simmons’ best statistics are not one on the field: They are in the classroom. The 17-year-old just graduated from high school two years early with a 5.34 GPA, according to On3 Sports’ Hayes Fawcett.

The young star flipped his commitment from Florida to Ole Miss, he announced in a joint release with Fawcett, and plans to enroll this summer.

Simmons was homeschooled and finished high school at age 16 with the help of online courses, according to the Palm Beach Post. He had completed 15 college credits last August and is on track to receive an Associate’s degree this summer. With that, he could enter Ole Miss as a junior.

On the football field, Simmons broke former NFL receive Anquan Bolden’s Pahokee High School (Fla.) single-season passing record by throwing for 3,242 yards and 24 touchdowns.

ESPN ranked Simmons, listed at 6-foot-3 and about 200 pounds, as the No. 77 prospect in the class of 2025, while On3 had him ranked No. 156.

His father, David Simmons, told 247Sports that head coach Lane Kiffin was a major factor in the flip to Ole Miss.

โ€œI wanted a quarterback guy that was going to really develop him. I liked what he was talking about,” David said. “I think my kid can come in there and understand what theyโ€™re doing and compete right away.โ€

Simmons is also a Div. I baseball prospect. He told the Palm Beach Post last August that he’s a better pitcher than quarterback, as he is a southpaw that could hit 93 miles per hour at the beginning of his sophomore year. He received attention from a handful of programs including Georgia Tech, Lousville, Florida State and Vanderbilt. 247Sports wrote on Saturday that Simmons “will also play baseball in Oxford.”

Ole Miss commit Suntarine Perkins rushes for 337 yards, 4 TDs in title win

Ole Miss commit Suntarine Perkins went berserk in the record-setting championship game, recording nearly 400 total yards, scoring touchdowns and picking off a pass.

In a record-setting championship game that featured 107 total points, Ole Miss commit Suntarine Perkins shined brightest.

The four-star linebacker/running back recorded 378 total yards, four touchdowns, and had an interception to lead Raleigh (Miss.) High School to a 55-52 win over Noxubee County (Macon, Miss.) on Friday.

In the Lions offense’s first play from scrimmage, Perkins rushed the ball up the middle for a 74-yard touchdown and then kicked the PAT, according to ScorebookLive. With the official tally unreleased, ScorebookLive recorded 331 rushing yards on 32 carries for Perkins, while 0n3’s Sam Spiegelman reported he had 337 rushing yards and four two-point conversions.

The difference between 337 and 331 is rather small, proportionally, but in a three-point victory, every single yard counted. Perkins tallied up all that he could.

Raleigh finished its season 14-1 and won its first state championship. The Lions scored at least 40 points in 11 games and allowed more than 30 in only two contests.

The team hasn’t updated its stats page on MaxPreps, but through the first 14 games of the season, the site has recorded Perkins as rushing for 1,744 yards and 28 touchdowns. With his monstrous championship performance, he easily surpassed the 2,000-yard mark and eclipsed 30 touchdowns on the ground.

Coming into the title game, Perkins had recorded 86 tackles, 5.0 sacks, three interceptions and four fumble recoveries.

The 247Sports Composite has Perkins ranked as the third-best linebacker in the class of 2023 and the No. 58 player overall in the class.

Smith is ranked the No. 224 recruit in the class of 2022. He plays high school football for Mt. Dora in Orlando, Florida. He is considered the No. 34 wide receiver in his class.

The four-star wide receiver prospect runs track. Smith runs a blazing fast 100-meter dash. He ran a personal-best of 10.28 second this year, which is not far behind the fastest player on Georgia’s roster (Arian Smith, who runs track for UGA).

Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs offered Smith a scholarship on May 5th. Chandler Smith, who is favored to commit to UGA, will be committing on Dec. 14 at noon EST.

Smith announced his commitment date and time via his Twitter account:

Chandler Smith originally committed to Florida, but decommitted from the Gators a few weeks after Florida fired head coach Dan Mullen.

You can’t teach Smith’s speed. He is an elite athlete. Smith has one of the best 200-meter times in the country.

UGA recruiting target, 4-star CB makes commitment

The Georgia Bulldogs were in the top schools for four-star cornerback M.J. Daniels, who has committed to Mississippi State.

The Georgia Bulldogs were in the top schools for four-star cornerback M.J. Daniels.

Daniels committed to the Ole Miss Rebels, but backed off his initial decision.

Now, Daniels has committed to Mike Leach and the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Daniels is a talented recruit in the class of 2021 from Lucedale, Mississippi. He plays football at George County High School.

The four-star has excellent length and is 6-foot-3. He put the Georgia Bulldogs, Texas A&M Aggies, Ole Miss Rebels and Mississippi State Bulldogs in his top schools.

Dan Lanning and the Georgia defensive staff should be looking for several defensive backs in the class of 2021. Eric Stokes, Tyson Campbell and D.J. Daniel could all leaving following the 2020 season, so Georgia must find some future replacements in this class.

Daniels announced his commitment to the Mississippi State Bulldogs via his Twitter account:

Georgia football among top schools for Taleeq Robbins

The Georgia Bulldogs are among the top five schools for defensive tackle Taleeq Robbins.

The Georgia Bulldogs are among the top five schools for defensive tackle Taleeq Robbins. Robbins is a member of the class of 2021. He is a three-star recruit who plays high school football for Imhotep Institute in Philadelphia.

Robbins announced that the University of Georgia offered him a football scholarship back in March. The 6-foot-3, 300 pound defensive lineman is ranked as the 18th best player in Pennsylvania and the No. 44 defensive tackle in the 2021 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Robbins has received numerous scholarship offers and is expected to decide soon. He is favored to commit to the Texas A&M Aggies. Don’t count out the Georgia Bulldogs, who are recruiting Philadelphia quite well. Kirby Smart has added increased emphasis on recruiting the talented area and still needs his first defensive tackle commitment in the class of 2021.

As a high school junior, Robbins recorded 40 tackles, three sacks, and one fumble recovery.

Robbins puts the Georgia Bulldogs, NC State Wolfpack, Texas A&M Aggies, Arizona State Sun Devils, and Ole Miss Rebels in his top five. We will monitor his recruiting moving forward.

The three-star defensive tackle released his top schools via his Twitter account:

Will Robbins join D’Andre Swift as Dawgs from Philly? We’ll find out in the coming months.

Four-star WR Bralon Brown puts Georgia, Georgia Tech in top five

Will Georgia and Georgia Tech be in more recruiting battles over the upcoming seasons? Four-star WR Bralon Brown names his top five.

Will the Georgia Bulldogs and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets be in more recruiting battles over the upcoming seasons? Georgia Tech’s second year coach Geoff Collins is a better recruiter than previous coach Paul Johnson, who ran the triple option offense. With all the in-state talent in the Peach State, isn’t it inevitable for the two teams to clash more over the next decade?

The Bulldogs and Yellow Jackets are set up to fight over 2021 four-star wide receiver Bralon Brown. Brown is a 6-2 target, who plays high school football at Chaminade-Madonna Prep in Hollywood, Florida.

Brown put both schools in his top five, which he announced via his Twitter account:

Brown lists Georgia, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, Miami, and Penn State in his top schools. He announced his top five despite the present dead period in recruiting.

Brown would be a great addition to Georgia’s class of 2021. Kirby Smart and his staff are working to secure another elite recruiting class, but UGA currently has only three commitments.

Georgia is continuing to recruit the Sunshine State harder than ever. It’ll be interesting to see if Georgia Tech can begin to hamper UGA’s recruiting more, or if the Dawgs will continue to dominate.

Is Georgia football still in it? Recruiting Director at Rivals makes Zach Evans prediction

Is Georgia football still in the mix for Zach Evans? Mike Farrell at Rivals thinks so.

Zach Evans, the 5-star running back out of North Shore High School in Houston, Texas, originally signed with Georgia but then later requested that the Bulldogs release him of his National Letter of Intent. Georgia did just that.

Evans, who may be the most talented player in the entire 2020 recruiting class, was supposed to announce his decision at the Under Armour game before backing out and delaying his recruitment.

Now, however, Georgia appears to be back in the fold for Evans.

Despite already signing with UGA and then being released from his NLI, some recruiting expert still think the superstar tailback will end up at Georgia when the dust settles.

Another name to keep an eye on is Broderick Jones, a 5-star offensive lineman who has been committed to Georgia for quite some time. He has not signed with the Dawgs, though, and Auburn has been making a strong push for the 6’6″ 300 pounder out of Lithonia, Georgia.

When asked to make a prediction on where these unsigned five-star players will go, Rivals.com’s National Recruiting Director Mike Farrell said he still thinks that both Evans and Jones will be heading to Georgia.

โ€œEvans will end up at Georgia, Jones will also end up at Georgia.”

Evans is believed to be visiting Knoxville this weekend, according to Farrell. Ole Miss and Florida are in the mix as well.

At North Shore in Houston, Evans had another stellar season as a senior, rushing for 1,600 yards and 20 touchdowns on just 127 carries, with an average of 12.6 yards per carry. In 2018, when he was named MaxPreps’ National Junior of the Year, Evans tallied 1,785 rushing yards and 29 scores. His sophomore season, ย Evans racked up 1,483 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns.
