LOOK. Ohio State unveils all-white uniforms to be worn for Illinois game Saturday

The Ohio State football team officially unveiled its all-white uniforms it will wear Saturday on the road at Illinois.

It was already teased and reported, but now we have an official look at the all-white uniforms the Ohio State football team will be wearing against Illinois this Saturday.

It’ll mark the first time OSU has worn alternate jerseys since the all-blacks were worn against Michigan State on October 5, and the first time alternate true road jerseys have been broken out since the game against Michigan in Ann Arbor on November 25, 2017.

These beauties will have a similar look to what we’ve seen before when Ohio State busted out the all-whites, except this time the traditional headgear with the Buckeye leaves will be worn as opposed to the alternate helmets with the wider scarlet striping.

Here’s a look at what Ohio State Football shared on its Twitter account Tuesday.

I have to admit, I’m not generally a fan of all-white ensembles, but Jonathon Cooper (if that is indeed him) looks pretty sharp in these duds. Let’s hope the team plays as good as it looksĀ on Saturday at Noon on FS1.

Ryan Day Illinois preview press conference

Ohio State coach Ryan Day met with reporters Tuesday to discuss the Indiana game and to preview Illinois. Watch and listen to what he said.

It’s Tuesday of a game week and that means Ohio State football head coach Ryan Day met with the media via Zoom call today. It’s the new normal in the pandemic world we are living in.

As usual, Day touched on what he saw from the game against Indiana, then provided a look ahead at what kind of challenge he expects the trip to Illinois to be. Day took several questions from reporters and also provided his own commentary on all things Buckeye enquiring minds wanted to know. We’re bringing it to you thanks to video from the official Twitter account of the Ohio State Buckeyes and OhioStateBuckeyes.com

By watching below, you can hear Day discuss the play of Justin Fields, how the mistakes made on defense Saturday are correctable, what heading down the stretch in a pandemic is like. He also touched on some missed calls with the officiating on Saturday and more.

Ohio State vs. Illinois 2020 Football Preview And Prediction

Ohio State travels to Champaign to face the Fighting Illini as the Big Ten season rolls on. We’ve got your preview and prediction.

Well, Ohio State made it past a gritty Indiana team. While the Buckeyes looked unstoppable in short spurts against the No. 9 team in the nation, there were more head-scratching moments than we’d care to see from a team with national title aspirations.

Even though he threw for 300 yards and accounted for three touchdowns,Ā Justin Fields probably played his worst game as a Buckeye. It seemed as if he was trying to do too much at times which led to sacks and interceptions.

This also might have been the worst game Ryan Day has called as the Ohio State head coach. Indiana sent blitz packages galore. The best way to beat a team that blitzes often? Run right at them.

When Ohio State took to the ground, they had continued success.Ā Master Teague rushed for a career-high 169 yards andĀ Trey Sermon added another 60. And yet, the run seemed to be abandoned at crucial times, most notably on fourth-and-1 on the Indiana five-yard line only up by a score. Don’t overthink it… hand the ball to Teague and get downhill behind one of the most experienced offensive lines in college football.

The good news is this, you learn best when you’ve been faced with a little adversity. I think it was most likely a good thing for this Buckeye team to face a challenge to see what they need to clean up as well as motivation to play better.

On to Champaign to face the Fighting Illini.

Ohio State to wear all white alternate uniforms Saturday against Illinois

Ohio State will look just a little different when they take on Illinois in Champaign this Saturday. The team is breaking out all-whites.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen Ohio State in a non-traditional, alternate uniform. Actually, it’s been just over a year ago when Ohio State hosted Michigan State and wore the all-black alternate unis while facing the Spartans.

Of course, I’m not counting the beauties that Ohio State wore in the Fiesta Bowl against Clemson because those are more of a throwback than an alternate. And they are oh so nice!

For those of you hoping that a shortened season would mean no time to change the duds… sorry about your luck.

Eleven Warriors reported earlier today that Ohio State plans to wear an all-white version of their current uniform, similar to the all-white alternates from the Braxton Miller era. Apparently, this all-white version will not be chromed out and have the normal sized stripes on the helmet and sleeves.

Love it or hate it, alternate uniforms are part of the college football landscape and it’s probably not changing anytime soon. And regardless of the fans’ perspective, the players love the change of pace. So, if it keeps the recruits coming, we can sacrifice tradition for a week.

Take a look at our top all-time favorite alternate uniforms in Ohio State history and see how they compare to Saturday’s look.

Ohio State vs. Illinois game time, broadcast information released

We finally know what time and channel the Ohio State game against Illinois will be Saturday. It’s a familiar time slot and broadcast team.

We finally know the game time of Ohio State’s next game on the road at Illinois. The schedule wasn’t immediately known because the Big Ten Network used one of its allotted six-day selections for the week, meaning many games had to wait until less than a week before kickoff to know what time slot the game would be played in.

And … wait for it — the game will be another nooner, but this time pushed to FS1 rather than the main FOX telecast we’ve seen Ohio State on so often. Even though it’s not being publicized as the feature game on the parent channel, it stillĀ gets the call from the lead broadcast team of Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt. Come to think of it, we’re about to make them the unofficial voices of the Ohio State Buckeyes at this point.

Illinois has won two-straight games after starting the season 0-3, so there is renewed optimism in Champaign. And as a reminder, this is the week usually reserved for The Game between Ohio State and Michigan. Welcome to 2020.

Ohio State opens as huge favorite over Illinois according to BetMGM

The new BetMGM college football odds are out for the week and Ohio State has opened up as a huge favorite for the game against Illinois.

Ohio State survived a furious rally by the Indiana Hoosiers on Saturday, and now it turns its focus on a road trip to Illinois. The Fighting Illini have won two in a row after struggling mightily to start the season and seem to have some renewed optimism.

However, beating the likes of Nebraska and Rutgers is a galaxy and universe away from going toe-to-toe with a team like the Buckeyes, so the level of play will have to increase substantially.

And the popular BetMGMĀ Sportsbook agrees. It has the opening line of the game out, and Ohio State is favored by -28 early on.

Last week, the Buckeyes opened as an almost three-touchdown favorite against the Hoosiers and it stayed that way all the way to kickoff. We’ll see if this one moves at all through the week as time goes on.

In the meantime, Happy Thanksgiving week. Here’s to hoping you have a safe and relaxing holiday season.

Ohio State at Michigan State 2020 basketball preview, prediction, and odds

Ohio State travels to East Lansing to take on Michigan State in its regular-season finale. We’ve got your preview, prediction, and odds.

Records

Ohio State 21-9 (11-8), Michigan State 21-9 (13-6)

Broadcast, TV, Game Time

Date: Sunday, March 8
Game Time: 4:30 PM
Venue: Breslin Center, East Lansing, MI
Network: CBS

There’s not a whole lot on the line for Ohio State as it travels to East Lansing, but there’s a shot at playing spoiler. The Buckeyes already ruined Illinois’ chance at a regular-season title, and it now gets an opportunity to do the same to Michigan State.

But it’s senior night in the Breslin Center and Michigan State might be playing the best basketball of anyone in the Big Ten here as of late. After all, it is March, and head coach Tom Izzo seems to get his teams ready around this time of year.

More than that, playing the Spartans in their building has been a house of horrors as of late. Ohio State has gotten blown out more often than not, and its last win in East Lansing was all the way back in 2012 when William Buford became a hero.

If OSU is able to pull it off, it’ll go down as perhaps the most impressive win of the season because of the venue and all that’s going on to provide an emotional boost for the home team.

Ohio State vs. Illinois 2020 basketball preview, prediction, and odds

Ohio State hosts Illinois for its final home regular-season game and there’s still a ton on the line. How will it all play out? We tell you.

Records

Ohio State 20-9 (10-8), Illinois 20-9 (12-6)

Broadcast, TV, Game Time

Date: Thursday, March 5
Game Time: 7:00 PM
Venue: Value City Arena, Columbus, OH
Network: ESPN

There may be no shot at a Big Ten regular-season title, but this one still means a ton. It’s senior night at the Schott and the Buckeyes will be looking to send Andre Wesson and Danny Hummer off with a win.

In the case of Wesson, he’s turned himself into a very, very valuable member of this team that has an all-around game that creates matchup nightmares. Hummer may not be on the court a lot, but a guy like him is a leader by example and in practice.

Aside from senior night, there’s still a lot to determine as far as seeding goes in the very congested middle of the Big Ten standings. Ohio State currently sits in seventh place, but is just one game out of fifth, and two games out of fourth where Illinois is hanging around.

But below the Buckeyes, there are four teams still in striking distance to overcome OSU for a better position in the Big Ten Tournament. Chris Holtmann and crew would like to keep the positive momentum going towards all that comes with playing in March.

Ohio State basketball vs. Illinois: How and where to watch and listen

Ohio State will host Illinois on senior night Thursday in the last Big Ten home game of the year. Here’s the tv, radio, and streaming info.

It’s time to see if the Ohio State basketball team can keep things rolling. Winners of eight of its last ten, Chris Holtmann’s squad is playing more cohesive and continues to be hitting stride heading towards the postseason.

There are just two regular-season conference games remaining, and it all starts with senior night against Illinois Thursday. It’ll be an emotional game and the crowd should be all lathered up to give OSU the home-court advantage, but playing the Illini comes with a certain composure that will be needed.

The Buckeyes are just one game behind Iowa and Penn State for fifth and sixth place in the league, but losing this one will open it up to a few teams below OSU to sneak up and knock it down the seed line for the Big Ten Tournament.

We’ve got all the information you need to find and either watch or listen to the game.
