Former Ohio State wide receiver commit Jayvan Boggs commits to SEC program

This was a bit of a surprising choice

When 2025 Florida wide receiver [autotag]Jayvan Boggs[/autotag] committed to Ohio State football in October of 2023, it looked like the Buckeyes wide receiver pipeline to The Sunshine State was going to continue.

That ultimately wasn’t the case, as the 6-foot, 1-inch and 200-pound pass catcher decided that Columbus wasn’t the place for him. Boggs decommitted from the Buckeyes at the end of March, following offers from Georgia, Notre Dame and others.

It seemed like he would ultimately land at one of those schools, but on Thursday, the nation’s No. 211 overall prospect and 24th ranked wide receiver according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings committed to Missouri.

It is interesting that the Tigers were his choice, considering other powerhouse programs were after him. Boggs did say after his decision that he wanted to create his own path.

As we do with all former Ohio State commits, we will be watching closely to see how Boggs fares in Columbia.

Four-star defender picks Alabama over Ohio State

Four-star defender picks Alabama over Ohio State #GoBucks

Ohio State football has been killing it on the recruiting trail and although they haven’t gotten a commitment from everyone on its wish list, it has been close. The most recent commitment though is a tad more depressing than most and a bit surprising.

Justin Hill is a four-star edge rusher in the Buckeye backyard of Cincinnati, Ohio. The consensus top 65 player in the country was expected by most to choose Ohio State, but unfortunately the Winton Woods product chose the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Hill had his choice of schools narrowed down to four and in addition to Alabama and Ohio State, included Oregon and USC. He visited all four universities during the month of June, but most Ohio State pundits expressed confidence in him becoming a Buckeye.

Despite signing day being right around the corner, the class of 2025 stud still has time to reconsider and stay home.

Top 2025 Ohio State football linebacker target will commit this weekend

Will the Buckeyes land another Texan for a BOOM! on Saturday?

Although Ohio State football’s 2025 recruiting class has commitments from linebackers Tarvos Alford and Eli Lee, it is looking to add one more prospect to the group.

[autotag]Riley Pettijohn[/autotag], the 6-foot, 2-inch and 215-pound Texas ‘backer visited Columbus at the end of May, and has since taken other visits to his finalists. The nation’s No. 31 overall prospect and 4th ranked at his position according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings is ready to shut down his recruiting process.

This coming Saturday, July 6th, Pettijohn will choose from his final four: Texas A&M, Texas, USC and Ohio State. The 247Sports Crystal Ball leader is currently the Longhorns, but it has been wrong before.

Ohio State would love at add yet another Lone Star State star to its roster, as they have been extremely successful recruiting Texas in the recent past.

2025 running back sets Ohio State visit

2025 running back sets Ohio State visit #GoBucks

Ohio State may have missed out on Jordon Davison, but it is moving onto its next target in three-star prospect, Shekai Mills-Knight. The Tennessee product is set to visit Columbus, Ohio, on July 29 and the Buckeyes will now no doubt be in the mix for his commitment.

The consensus top 35 running back in the country recently cut his shortlist down to eight and Ohio State made the cut along with Alabama, Auburn, Miami, Michigan, Missouri, Ole Miss and of course, Tennessee. Most are viewing the Volunteers as the favorite, but as we have seen before, the Buckeye recruiting class can pull of miracles once a recruit is on campus.

BOOM! Ohio State stays hot on the recruiting trails, adds 2025 defensive tackle Maxwell Roy

BOOM! The Buckeyes add a big-time defensive tackle to their ‘25 class

Ohio State football is going through another one of its hot recruiting stretches.

In June, the Buckeyes added eight commitments to their 2025 class. The good times didn’t stop as the calendar turned over to July, on Monday Ohio State added another top prospect, Pennsylvania defensive tackle [autotag]Maxwell Roy[/autotag].

The 6-foot, 3-inch and 285-pounder is one of the top interior defensive lineman in the country, ranking as the No. 229 overall prospect and 26th at his position according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Roy chose Ohio State over offers from Michigan, Georgia, Oregon, Penn State, USC, Wisconsin, Texas A&M and others.

The Buckeyes now have 22 commits in their 2025 recruiting class, one that continues to pace the sport at the top of the 247Sports Composite Team Rankings. Expect Ohio State to continue to hover around the top of that list for remainder of the cycle.

BOOM! Ohio State basketball lands 4-star in-state shooting guard Dorian Jones

A Buckeyes basketball BOOM! on Monday

When Jake Diebler took over the Ohio State men’s basketball program, one of his main focuses was to keep some of the best Ohioans from leaving the state.

You can say part of his mission was accomplished on Monday afternoon, as the Buckeyes accepted a commitment from Cleveland shooting guard [autotag]Dorian Jones[/autotag]. The 6-foot, 4-inch and 160-pound scorer is the first 2025 commitment for Ohio State and the second in-state player to verbal to Diebler following fellow Cleveland native Marcus Johnson in the 2026 class.

Jones is ranked as a 4-star prospect, the country’s No. 72 overall prospect and 12th ranked shooting guard according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Ohio State beat out Michigan, Rutgers and Missouri for Jones’ commitment. Hopefully this is a sign of more good things to come for the Buckeyes basketball team.

Reminder: Ohio State football’s top in-state edge rusher target Justin Hill commits on Wednesday

A BOOM! could be happening on Wednesday

There might be some fireworks for Ohio State football a bit early this year as the 4th of July approaches.

In-state edge rusher [autotag]Justin Hill[/autotag] will make his commitment a day before Independence Day, as he will choose from three Big Ten schools (USC, Oregon and the Buckeyes) along with Alabama.

The Winton Woods star stands 6-foot, 3-inches and weighs 220-pounds is being recruited as a potential Jack for Ohio State. Defensive coordinator Jim Knowles abandoned his hybrid position this past fall, partially due to not having the personnel to play there.

Hill, the nation’s No. 72 overall prospect and 7th edge according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, is the perfect fit for the Jack position.

Hill has visited each of his final four schools, as his decision date gets closer and closer. Hopefully his visit to Columbus left a lasting impression.

Ohio State football misses out on four-star edge rusher

Ohio State misses out on four-star edge rusher #GoBucks

Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. Unfortunely, this story features a loss. Ohio State football has been killing it recruiting-wise, but it has also taken a few lumps, and today was another lump. Four-star edge defender, Mariyon Dye, has announced his commitment to become a Tennessee Volunteer.

Dye is an Indiana product who had his list narrowed down to LSU, Purdue, Ohio State, and Tennessee. He announced his intentions to play for the Vols today.  It came as a shock to a few people considering his northern location.

Dye is currently listed as 6-foot, 5-inches and 270 pounds,  and is a consensus top-25 edge rusher in the class of 2025. This announcement will not hurt the Ohio State recruiting class too much, but it is a disappointment.

Ohio State target sets commitment date for Fourth of July

Could there be fireworks on the Fourth of July for Ohio State football recruiting? #GoBucks

Ohio State football is in the running to earn a commitment from a four-star edge rusher in the class of 2025, but we won’t find out where he will be playing until Independence Day. The timeline of the Damien Shanklin decision is interesting, considering he originally moved his commitment date from September to August, then July 5, and finally on a national holiday.

The Indiana native has narrowed his decision down to three powerhouse programs in Alabama, LSU, and of course, Ohio State. At first glance, one would consider the Buckeyes to be the favorite considering Shanklin is from a northern location, but we know that’s not always true.

Shanklin is a consensus top 50 player in the country and someone who many believe can be an impact player at the next level. It will be a commitment to monitor.

Ohio State 5-star cornerback target commits to other Big Ten school

One got away … #GoBucks

Ohio State football and its recruiting efforts have been stellar so far this cycle, but you can’t get them all to go your way, not even close. After already landing some pretty highly-touted defensive backs, the Buckeyes had one main priority left to put a bit of a bow on the secondary for the 2025 class, and it was 5-star cornerback Dorian Brew.

Unfortunately for OSU in this case, the target committed elsewhere, the Oregon Ducks in fact, a program that’s been on a pretty good role in nabbing prospects as of late. Brew is ranked as the No. 5 cornerback and 27th overall prospect in the class according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Out of Conroe, Texas, but with Ohio ties, you have to wonder if the haul Ohio State already has in the defensive backfield was a factor. Either way, the Buckeyes are still more than fine in the back-end of the defense for 2025, but it sure would have been nice to put a cherry on top.

Things are sure to keep on coming in the way of recruiting news, so we’ll remain on top of it all and bring anything substantial to you as it happens.
