LSU 2025 5-star commit makes visit to Ohio State football this weekend

The Buckeyes hosted one of the nations best this weekend

It was initially reported that LSU wide receiver commit [autotag]Dakorien Moore[/autotag] would be visiting Ohio State football for its Scarlet and Gray game.

Unfortunately that visit did not happen, but the interest between the two parties was still there. It was enough to push Moore to reschedule the visit, which happened this weekend.

The nations top wide receiver and No. 3 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings has been committed to the Tigers since August of last year.

Numerous other teams are working hard on flipping the 5-star, with the Buckeyes as one of them. You can’t rule out Ohio State, especially given its recent track record of putting receivers in the league, as we saw Marvin Harrison Jr. selected by the Arizona Cardinals with the No. 4 pick in the draft this week.

Anytime a recruit brings his mother with him, it should be viewed as a good sign and that’s exactly what happened with Moore. Time will tell if Ohio State is able to flip him, but the Buckeyes are certainly putting in the effort to do so.

Louisiana 5-star 2026 defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart spotted wearing Ohio State gloves

Does this mean anything for the Buckeyes?

Playing the apparel game is part of recruiting, and once again Ohio State football watching it play out with a 5-star recruit.

Louisiana 2026 defensive lineman [autotag]Jahkeem Stewart[/autotag], who stands 6-foot, 6-inches and weighs 270-pounds is the best lineman and the nations No. 3 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

This weekend Stewart participated in a Rival Camp event, and he was seen wearing Ohio State gloves while dominating the competition. Although it should be viewed as a good sign that he was wearing Buckeyes gear, it’s really hard to read how important this is. We’ve seen it both ways, with recruits wearing and not wearing OSU apparel.

He currently holds no crystal ball picks, so it’s anyone’s guess as to where Stewart ultimately lands.

Ohio State makes top 4 of in-state 2025 edge rusher

The Buckeyes remain one of the top schools for the in-state star

It’s been a big weekend for 2025 Ohio edge rusher [autotag]Justin Hill[/autotag].

He has been trending on social media after bulldozing Notre Dame offensive tackle commitment Owen Strebig, showing that he is one of the most impressive players at his position in the country.

Hill’s ranking back that up, as the 247Sports Composite Rankings has him as the No. 126 overall prospect and 13th overall edge rusher in the country. On Sunday he trimmed his list to just four schools: Alabama, Oregon, USC and Ohio State.

As a priority in-state prospect, the Buckeyes moving on in Hill’s recruitment is important. They’ll battle two of the Big Ten’s newest teams along with the SEC power Crimson Tide.

If you haven’t seen the clip of Hill plowing right by Strebig, here it is.

Expect Ohio State to continue to press hard for Hill’s commitment over the next few months.

Texas 5-star 2025 athlete has Ohio State football in top group

After a Scarlet and Gray game visit, the Buckeyes are firmly in the mix for the 5-star

It is safe to say that Ohio State football made an extremely positive impression on Texas athlete [autotag]Jonah Williams[/autotag].

The class of 2025’s No. 10 overall prospect and top rated linebacker according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings is coming off a visit to Columbus for the Buckeyes annual Scarlet and Gray spring game.

Although Williams is currently ranked as a linebacker, he could play safety as well, hence calling him an athlete. His 6-foot, 3-inch and 203-pound frame suggests that he could end up at either position.

Ohio State is one of seven schools that Williams will consider going forward, as he also is still looking at Oklahoma, LSU, Texas A&M, Texas, Oregon, and USC.

The spring visit was an unofficial, with a June 14th official set, Ohio State is squarely in the mix for Williams commitment.

Ohio State football offers 2026 Illinois elite athlete Mack Sutter

The Bucks offer a big-time Illinois athlete

Versatility is a key component for many high schools recruits and Ohio State football saw a do-it-all 2026 prospect in [autotag]Mack Sutter[/autotag].

The Illinois native was offered a scholarship by the Buckeyes staff on Thursday afternoon, as the 6-foot, 5-inch and 215-pound athlete is seeing his recruitment blow up. Over the course of the 30 days, Sutter has added offers from Alabama, Penn State, Michigan, Miami, Florida and now Ohio State.

Having been named a 4-star by the 247Sports Composite Rankings, they haven’t narrowed in a a specific position yet, as Sutter is the nations No. 8 athlete and 99th overall player in his class.

Many are recruiting Sutter as a tight end, and after the recent flurry of offers by Ohio State at the position, they very are envisioning him landing in that room.

Utah 5-star tight end earns Ohio State football offer

The Buckeyes are going after the 5-star tight end

Ohio State football is seeing its tight end recruiting trending in the right direction over the last few week.

Shortly before the Scarlet and Gray game kickoff, the Buckeyes received a commitment from Oklahoma tight end Nate Roberts. The 2025 prospect was the top player at the position on the Ohio State recruiting board.

The Buckeyes now turned their focus on the 2026 class, as on Sunday they offered Utah’s [autotag]Brock Harris[/autotag]. The 6-foot, 6-inch and 238-pound high school junior is one of the best players in the country regardless of position. The 247Sports Composite Rankings have Harris as the No. 21 overall prospect and 2nd at his position, making him a 5-star.

Coming off the success of Cade Stover, it is looking like Ohio State is becoming a much more appealing destination for tight ends.

BOOM x 2: Ohio State lands a second commit during spring game

A double BOOM! for the Buckeyes

It has become very common for Ohio State football to get on a commitment hot streak in recruiting.

It is happening again after the Buckeyes grabbed four verbals during the last weekend of March, they added two more on the Scarlet and Gray game festivities. First it was tight end Nate Roberts, then safety [autotag]Cody Haddad[/autotag] followed suit.

The Ohio safety, who stands 6-foot, 1-inch and weighs 175-pounds, was previously committed to Wisconsin until just about two weeks ago when he decommitted. Haddad made his decision during the game, while on the sidelines.

The newest Buckeye commit is a solid player, ranked as the No. 519 overall prospect and 30th athlete according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

The Ohio State 2025 class now stands at thirteen total commits, and has now taken over the No. 1 spot in the 247Sports Composite team rankings.

Ohio State 2025 linebacker target discusses top choices before next weeks commitment

The Buckeyes will get one of the last shots to impress the big-time linebacker. #GoBucks

Ohio State football is off to a fantastic start to its 2025 recruiting class with eight current commitments.

That number will grow larger, and in fact could as early as next week, as Florida linebacker, [autotag]Tarvos Alford[/autotag], is set to make his commitment on March 30 with the Buckeyes as one of his finalists.

The 6-foot, 2-inch, 210-pound ‘backer broke down his final suitors to 247Sports Brian Dohn (subscription required) and gave a glowing review of the Ohio State program. “Being taught by one of the best to do it at Ohio State would be great,” as Alford spoke very highly of new linebackers coach James Laurinaitis.

Alford is the nations No. 63 prospect overall and 8th best linebacker according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. The Buckeyes will host him on campus this weekend with his father as Dohn mentioned, but that won’t be his last visit before his verbal. Alford will also take the short trip to see Florida State before his decision.

Ohio State offers its first quarterback with Chip Kelly as offensive coordinator

The Buckeyes make their first QB offer with Kelly as OC

It was a big question when Ohio State football hired [autotag]Chip Kelly[/autotag] as its offensive coordinator; how well would he recruit?

His former school, UCLA, ranked as the No. 89 overall class in 2024, No. 37 in 2023, and No. 61 in 2022 according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Safe to say, those aren’t up to Buckeye standards.

Kelly had issues in Los Angeles, but is looking to fix those in Columbus. As the offensive coordinator, along with head coach Ryan Day, they offered their first quarterback together, 2026 Floridian, [autotag]Dia Bell[/autotag].

The 6-foot, 2-inch, 195-pounder isn’t currently ranked by any major service, but that’s the norm for many in his class. However, looking at his offer list which consists of Florida, LSU, Penn State, Texas and others, Bell should be on many lists going forward.

It will be very interesting to track how involved Kelly is in recruiting for Ohio State, but it’s safe to say he’s right in the mix with Bell’s recruitment.

Ohio State football to host 2025 Illinois wide receiver later this month

The Buckeyes won’t give up in the Land of Lincoln

The list of recruiting visitors continues to grow by the day for the Ohio State football program, and on Sunday you can add another name.

Illinois wide receiver [autotag]Talyn Taylor[/autotag] has set up four visits this spring, with Columbus one of the destinations. The 6-foot and 165-pound pass catcher is ranked as the No. 13 receiver and 110th overall prospect by the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Taylor will start his spring school tours by stopping at Georgia, then Ohio State, followed by Notre Dame and Michigan. Unfortunately, the Buckeyes have not had the best recruiting luck when it comes to prospects from Illinois, as they have missed Justin Scott, Marquise Lightfoot and Chris Burgess Jr. in the last few cycles.

Ohio State will look to change that with Taylor, as they look to impress the slot receiver during his visit.
