Broncos are the betting favorites to draft quarterback Bo Nix

Oddsmakers have the Broncos (+260) listed as the betting favorites to draft quarterback Bo Nix in April.

The Denver Broncos hold the 12th overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft and many pundits believe the team will target a quarterback at that spot.

Oddsmakers project Denver as the most likely landing spot for Oregon quarterback Bo Nix, a top-five QB prospect in this year’s class. The Broncos (+260) have the best odds to draft Nik, according to FanDuel.

The next-closest teams are the Minnesota Vikings (+470), who hold pick No. 11, and the Las Vegas Raiders (+550), who hold pick No. 13. Oddsmakers clearly feel that Nix will be in the mix to go off the board between the 11th and 13th picks.

Denver is expected to move on from Russell Wilson this offseason, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see the team use a first-round pick on a QB. Nix has been a popular choice for the Broncos in mock drafts, and Pro Football Focus has dubbed him an “ideal option” for Sean Payton’s offense.

The 2024 NFL draft will be held from April 25-27 in Detroit.

Sleeper picks for the 2024 Genesis Invitational at Riviera

Will the year of the longshot continue in LA?

A stacked field is in Los Angeles for the PGA Tour’s third signature event of the year, the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club.

Although world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland, Patrick Cantlay, Xander Schauffele, Max Homa and Justin Thomas will tee it up Thursday, all eyes will be on Tiger Woods.

Woods hasn’t played an official Tour event since the Masters last spring but did play a few times in December at the Hero World Challenge and PNC Championship.

The 15-time major winner spent Monday night announcing his new apparel line, Sun Day Red.

Although the best players in the world are set to do battle in LA, there are several sleepers to keep an eye on.

Does it get any better than that?

The PGA Tour’s third signature event of the season is here and a loaded field has made its way to Los Angeles, including the tournament host.

Woods last played at the PNC Championship in December, after finishing 18th at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas. His last official Tour start came at the Masters last April.

The 15-time major champion will be joined by world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland, Xander Schauffele, Patrick Cantlay and Max Homa.

Ranking all 32 teams (including the Broncos) by their odds to win the next Super Bowl

The Broncos have +10,000 odds to win the next Super Bowl, third-worst in the NFL.

Well, oddsmakers certainly aren’t feeling confident about the Denver Broncos following the 2023 season.

After the Broncos went 8-9 in new coach Sean Payton’s first season, Denver has been given +10,000 odds to win Super Bowl LIX next season, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. That’s tied for the third-worst odds in the league, only above the Tennessee Titans (+15,000) and Carolina Panthers (+25,000).

This marks a big contrast from last February when the Broncos were given (+3,000) odds to win the 2023 Super Bowl, tied for ninth-best in the NFL. Following the Russell Wilson fallout last season, Denver is expected to make a quarterback change this spring.

With uncertainty at the quarterback position, the Broncos not being considered a Super Bowl contender is not surprising. But to be listed among the three worst teams in the league seems to be a bit harsh.

Elsewhere in the AFC West, the Kansas City Chiefs (+750) have the second-best odds in the league, above the Los Angeles Chargers (+2,500), Denver and Las Vegas Raiders (+10,000, tied with the Broncos).

Whatever you call it, the WM Phoenix Open is the PGA Tour’s annual bash at TPC Scottsdale.

And a loaded field has traveled to Arizona this year, including back-to-back defending champion and world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler. He’ll be joined by Justin Thomas, Max Homa, Sam Burns, Jordan Spieth, last week’s 54-hole winner Wyndham Clark, Matt Fitzpatrick and Min Woo Lee.

Two top-5 players in the world, Viktor Hovland and Xander Schauffele, withdrew from the tournament on Monday.

Scheffler is the first Tour player this year hoping to make it a turkey, with Tom Kim set to pursue the same feat later this year at the Shriners Children’s Open.

The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am is going to look a lot different this week. The amateurs will play the first two rounds at Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill — Monterey Peninsula Country Club was removed from the rotation — before it’s just the pros at Pebble over the weekend.

And thanks to its elevated status to a signature event, the field is absolutely loaded with star power. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler will be joined by Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland, Xander Schauffele, Patrick Cantlay, Max Homa, Collin Morikawa, Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas, just to name a few.

Despite the big names, there are a few sleepers to keep an eye on.

The PGA Tour is back on the Monterey Peninsula for this week’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, the second signature event of 2024.

The old Crosby Clambake got a facelift this offseason, with amateurs playing on just Thursday and Friday. Monterey Peninsula Country Club was cut from the rotation, meaning the field will play Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill for the first two rounds before the pros battle for the championship at Pebble over the weekend.

Thanks to its elevated status, this year’s field is loaded: World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland, Jordan Spieth, Max Homa, Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay will all tee it up Thursday morning.

Farmers Insurance Open 2024 odds, course history and picks to win

It’s almost go time in San Diego.

For many, this week is the unofficial start of the golf season.

The PGA Tour is back at Torrey Pines in San Diego, California, for the 2024 Farmers Insurance Open. The property’s North and South courses will be used for the first two rounds before the final 36 are played on the South Course on Friday and Saturday — yes, there’s a Saturday finish this week.

Defending champion Max Homa is back to defend his title and is joined in the field by Xander Schauffele, Patrick Cantlay, Collin Morikawa, Ludvig Aberg, Tony Finau and Jason Day.

We haven’t seen Homa since he tied for 14th at the 2024 opener in Maui.

The Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs are going to be playing in a rarity type of game.

According to For The Win, during quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs career, it’s only going to be the 11th time he’s an underdog. A big reason for that: It’s the first time Mahomes is playing on the road in the postseason.

Per BetMGM, the Bills are a three-point favorite over the Chiefs ahead of the Divisional round.

Earlier this season, Buffalo and Kansas City faced off and the contest was played in KC. In a similar manner, the home team was a slight favorite by 2.5 points.

In the regular season, both the Bills and Chiefs held 11-6 records. Buffalo is the home team in the Divisional round thanks to a 20-17 win when the two sides faced off in Week 14.

However, in terms of the spread, that was a rarity for the Bills. Despite their overall record, Buffalo is only 7-9-1 against the spread this year meaning they covered against Kansas City.

Likewise, the Chiefs have a worse ATS record than their overall one, but at least it’s a winning one at 9-8 overall.

One area that might be easy to stay away from: Total points.

This one opens at 45.5. Buffalo is 6-11 against the points this season and Kansas City is worse at 5-12.

The moneyline sits at Bills (-145) and Chiefs (+120).

The American Express 2024 odds, course history and picks to win

Schauffele finished T-3 at last year’s American Express.

After a few weeks on the islands of Hawaii, the PGA Tour has made its way to the mainland for The American Express at PGA West in La Quinta, California.

A loaded field will tee it up for the third event of 2024, including world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Patrick Cantlay, Xander Schauffele, Justin Thomas, Tom Kim, Sam Burns, Tony Finau and Jason Day.

Scheffler, the betting favorite at +550, tied for 11th at PGA West last season and is coming off a T-5 performance at The Sentry.

Defending champion Jon Rahm isn’t in the field due to his recent move to LIV Golf.

Three courses will be used over the first three rounds — Pete Dye Stadium Course, Nicklaus Tournament Course and La Quinta Country Club — before the final round is played at the Stadium Course.
