PASS. The Pacers are -121, while the Nuggets are even money at +100. Every $1.21 wagered on the Pacers ML will profit $1 if they win. Every $1 wagered on the Nuggets ML will profit $1 if they win. I’m going to avoid a play here and focus on the spread since the line is so small.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The PACERS (-2.5, +105) are the play. They’re 15-3 at home and on a season-best six-game home winning streak. Plus, they’re 11-6-1 ATS at home. The Nuggets (+2.5, -125) are 8-6 straight up and 5-7-2 ATS on the road.

The Nuggets will need to win by at least 11 points for a $10 bet to return a profit of $10.50.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 206.5 (-106) is the play, hitting in each of the first two meetings this season in Sacto. The Kings entered play this weekend ranked 13th in the NBA in scoring defense, while the Nuggets sport the NBA’s best scoring defense, as well as the best 3-point defensive percentage.

It’s easily winning by double digits.

PASS. The total of 220.5 is going to be too close for my liking. I expect the Nuggets to build a gigantic lead into the fourth quarter and then power down. If I had a lean, I’d go ever so slightly under (220.5), but not enough to risk any of my holiday lettuce. Of course, watch the number up to tip-off for any movement.

The Lakers (-167) remain home favorites after losing back-to-back games for the first time all season. The NUGGETS (+140) are a great value play with plus-money amid a five-game winning streak. Neither team is at full health, but it’s the Lakers being hit harder with each of their top-three scorers battling some form of injury.

Bettors will want to see Millsap cleared before going too heavily on the Nuggets, but they’re worth at least a small wager at +140. A $10 bet for Denver to upset LA and win outright would return a profit of $14.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The moneyline is a better play for those backing the Nuggets (+3.5, -115) in what’s projected as a one-possession game. The Lakers (-3.5, -106) are 16-13 ATS overall and 8-4 ATS at home, while the Nuggets are 11-13-3 ATS overall and 4-5-2 ATS on the road. The more profitable play is on the true upset, and that’s where my money will be going Sunday. PASS.

Over/Under (O/U)

Take the OVER 209.5 (+105). Even with impactful injuries on both sides, this total is low. The two teams combine to score 219.5 points per game and allow 205.8 PPG. It’s tough to see either team being held below 100 points.

The Nuggets (-250) come with a steep price on the moneyline, and they’re not worth the risk with only a $4 return on a $10 bet to win outright.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The NUGGETS (-6.5, -105) are nearly even money if you’re willing to lay the points, and you should. The last time these teams met in Portland Oct. 23, it was Denver coming away with a 108-100 win.

Fast forward to Thursday … the Blazers are just 3-7 ATS in their past 10 road games and 1-4 ATS in the past five as underdogs. While the Nuggets are 1-4-1 ATS in their past six overall, they’re 4-1 ATS in the past five against losing sides. The boys from Rip City are just 4-10-1 ATS in the past 15 meetings with the Nuggs, too.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 213.5 (-115) has cashed in nine of the past 12 meetings, but go lightly until it is determined whether or not the Blue Arrow (a.k.a. Murray) is able to play.

The favorite is also 8-2 ATS in the past 10 meetings in this series. However, for the Pacers (+4.5, +105), they’re 0-6-1 ATS in the past seven against teams with a winning overall record, and 3-10 ATS in the last 13 games against teams with a winning percentage of .600 or better.

Over/under (O/U)

The UNDER 225.5 (+105) is a decent bargain, especially at plus-money. The Under has connected in five straight meetings in Indianapolis, and six of the past seven in this series. The Under is also 3-1-1 in the past five home games for the Pacers, too.

However, those series trends are all when the Nets did not have Irving in their backcourt. Of course, that might also be the case Thursday might, too.

Over/under (O/U)

With Irving’s availability in doubt, question, the O/U is off the board as of this publishing.

However, if the line is posted, the UNDER (whatever it is) the play regardless of Irving’s status, as Denver’s recent trends drive this pick. The under is 4-1 ATS in the past five overall for the Nuggets, while going 11-2 in their past 13 against Eastern Conference foes and 18-7 ATS in the past 25 at home.
