Love to look at a golf course, at all hours of the day and from almost every vantage point in your home? This incredible property in The Cliffs at Walnut Cove outside of Asheville, North Carolina, could offer exactly the lifestyle you’re looking for.
The home, which has seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms, is on the market for just under $13 million.
The Asheville Citizen-Times, part of the USA Today Network, wrote this on the property:
This home overlooking the Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, claiming “the largest single pane windows in North America” and a 1,500-bottle wine cellar.
Built in 2018, the home contains 9,810 square feet and is currently listed just below $13 million. It would also break county records if sold at its current listing price. Between its three floors, it contains seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms and a three-car garage.
The property is 10 minutes from the airport and “offers an abundance of guest rooms, sitting areas, and multi-use spaces, idyllic for a mountain retreat in a luxury gated community,” according to the listing.
With a traditional down payment, you’d pay $2.2 million and would have a 30-year mortgage of about $75,429 a month, according to Rocket Mortgage.
As for the course, The Cliffs at Walnut Cove is a par-71 design by Jack Nicklaus, who built the course in 2005.
Former Tar Heel Theo Pinson debates Spencer Dinwiddie on Tidal League’s Run Your Race podcast on which State has the best hoopers.
Former North Carolina Tar Heel [autotag]Theo Pinson[/autotag] is in the lab podding, sparking up debates, and he might have put the nail in a coffin for one question that has lived in barbershops nationwide.
Which State produces the best hoopers?
Pinson had NBA player Spencer Dinwiddie on his podcast Run Your Race by Tidal League. The two players debated which State is home to the best hoopers based on notable names and success from that region.
Dinwiddie went with California as the best hoop state, even taking a jab at Pinson’s obvious pick, North Carolina. Pinson, who bleeds NC pride, said three words that put the best hoop State debate to bed.
Which state has the best hoopers?
Spencer Dinwiddie: “We (California) probably have more all-stars than y’all have hoopers in total.”
There is no denying that this debate will stand the test of time as players continue to get better. However, there is no denying that North Carolina is home to the most outstanding player to pick up a basketball.

[autotag]Micah Shrewsberry[/autotag]’s team of the future is picking up steam. Two days before 2024 four-star combo guard recruit [autotag]Sir Mohammed[/autotag] was set to announce his college pick, 2024 four-star forward [autotag]Garrett Sundra[/autotag] committed to Notre Dame. Now, you can add Mohammed to the Irish’s 2024 recruiting class. Mohammed announced his commitment during the Elite 24 showcase in Atlanta:
Perhaps the quickest commitment I’ve ever seen from new 4🌟 (54 NATL.) G Sir Mohammed (@thesirmohammed). 😂☘️ #GoIrish
Mohammed, the son of former NBA player Nazr Mohammed, ranks fourth among 2024 recruits from North Carolina on 247Sports. He visited Notre Dame on June 18 and also took official visits to Virginia Tech, Marquette and Stanford. With this announcement, three of North Carolina’s top four 2024 recruits have committed to ACC programs. Drake Powell has picked North Carolina, Isaiah Evans is headed for Duke, and Jayden Quaintance has not yet made his decision.
Mohammed, who joins Sundra and [autotag]Cole Certa[/autotag] in the Irish’s 2024 recruiting class, has put up solid numbers for Myers Park in Charlotte. In three seasons on the varsity squad, he has averaged 14.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.7 steals a game. That’s the type of production the Irish will take, and here’s hoping that translates at the college level.

Troon, the Arizona-based golf management company that has seen rapid expansion in recent months, has been selected to manage one of the most interesting courses in the U.S.: Tobacco Road in Sanford, North Carolina.
Designed by the late Mike Strantz and established in 1998, Tobacco Road has built an almost cult-like following of players looking for something different. The layout’s sometimes-extreme greens and incredible terrain have kept the tee sheet full for years, and Tobacco Road ranks No. 6 in a stacked North Carolina on Golfweek’s Best 2023 list of top public-access courses. It also ties for No. 79 on Golfweek’s Best list of top public-access courses in the U.S.
Those rankings don’t necessarily express the views of diehard fans, many of whom would rank what is in many ways a non-traditional layout among the top handful of modern courses in the U.S.
Such players tend to love that Tobacco Road plays almost like a video game, presenting shots and strategic challenges not seen at many other courses. Think semi-blind shots to frequently crazy greens featuring dramatic contours and run-offs – Strantz wasn’t interested in the status quo of golf design, and he wasn’t afraid to turn up the volume with his designs.
With the right frame of mind, it’s all incredibly fun – judged by many to be as much art as a golf course. And after decades of family management, the course 25 miles north of Pinehurst will now be under the management of Troon, the largest golf and golf-hospitality management company in the world.
“After thoroughly evaluating our options for management of Tobacco Road, we are excited to select Troon as the steward of Mike Strantz’s uncompromising design,” Tobacco Road Golf Club founder Mark Stewart said in a media release announcing the news.
Troon has been on a tear lately, acquiring several other management companies. The company now manages the equivalent of 840-plus 18-hole golf courses. Under its care are multiple top-tier daily-fee courses and private clubs.
“Troon is proud and honored to partner with Tobacco Road and founder Mark Stewart,” Troon director of operations Dana Schultz said in the media release. “This Top-100 golf course has been a successful family-run operation for decades. We look forward to carrying on the Stewart family vision and welcoming golfers to Tobacco Road Golf Club.”

Sedgefield Country Club – site of the 2023 Wyndham Championship on the PGA Tour – opened in 1926 in Greensboro, North Carolina, with a design by legendary architect Donald Ross.
The private layout, which features relatively small and undulating greens, was extensively restored in 2007 by Kris Spence. The Tour event returned in 2008.
Sedgefield will play to 7,131 yards with a par of 70 for the Wyndham Championship, which is the final event of the Tour’s regular season and the last chance for players to earn entry into the 70-player FedEx Cup Playoffs.
Thanks to yardage books provided by StrackaLine – the maker of detailed yardage books for thousands of courses around the world – we can see exactly the challenges the players face this week in North Carolina.

Former Duke star JJ Redick answered a fan question about letting his son play at UNC.
The hatred between former Duke star JJ Redick and UNC runs deep, but is the hate strong enough for him to not support his son Knox if he decided to become a Tar Heel?
We have the answer.
Redick appeared on his podcast “The Old Man & the Three” with cohost Tommy Alter to answer fan questions. Twitter user @Wreckitralph_95 asked, “Would you rather have Knox be a star at Duke and win the national tournament AND never make the NBA OR be a one-and-done at UNC and be a lottery pick?”
Redick answered the question the only way you would expect a rival to say.
Favorite question from todays podcast. Would I let Knox play at UNC? Shoutout to @jga41agher for the awesome edit. https://t.co/Ad2kvt60Dd
It is nice to know UNC at least has a shot with one of Duke’s scariest 3-point shooters. During his four years with the Blue Devils, Redick averaged 19.9 points, shooting 40% from 3 on 8.1 attempts per game.
Maybe UNC landing the Boozer twins can open the door for this scenario to play out.

With the college football season approaching, here are top prospects for the New Orleans Saints 2024 NFL draft watch list at quarterback | @DillySanders @crissy_froyd
With the college football season right around the corner, we’re taking a break from New Orleans Saints training camp coverage to highlight prospects for our 2024 NFL draft watch list. We’re starting off with the game’s most important position: quarterback.
Now, the Saints likely won’t be on the hunt for a new quarterback in the spring — having signed Derek Carr and drafted Jake Haener to back him up, they’ve resolved that question for at least a few years. But there’s a very good chance one of the top rookie passers ends up in the division on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or Atlanta Falcons. We just saw the Carolina Panthers make a surprise trade to pick Bryce Young first overall, so who’s to say one of those NFC South rivals won’t follow that blueprint?
Here are our top five quarterback prospects eligible for the 2024 draft, along with a couple of honorable mentions:
Notre Dame will be riding high entering Fall camp later this week fresh off the commitment of 4 star LB & 89th player overall in the 2024 class from California St. John Bosco [autotag]Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa[/autotag]. The timing couldn’t be better. Irish fans are notoriously fickle when it comes to riding recruiting waves of emotion, myself included, and having this uptick leading into August provides a terrific spark.
Notre Dame currently resides at number 7 in the 247 composite team rankings. How might the Irish’s record this year impact where the team ends up in recruiting when all is said and done? A great showing in the “marque 3” is bound to help with recruiting, it’s just a matter of how much.
I see 3 particular ways that the Viliamu-Asa signing is huge for Notre Dame. Let’s examine them in more detail.
