Brad Stevens’ son Brady commits to Notre Dame for 2024

Another future get for the Irish.

The [autotag]Micah Shrewsberry[/autotag] era at Notre Dame seems to be defined early by luring the offspring of established basketball minds. Shrewsberry’s son, Braeden and Calvin Booth’s son, Carey, will make their Irish debuts this coming season. Recently, Nazr Mohammed’s son, Sir, committed for 2024. Now, the Irish can add Brad Stevens’ son, Brady, to the mix in 2024 after the following Instagram post was made:

Not much seems to be known about the younger Stevens other than he plays for the high school in Wellesley, Massachusetts. He doesn’t even have a 247Sports profile, suggesting he was only lightly recruited if at all. However, Shrewsberry was an assistant for the elder Stevens with Butler and then, the Boston Celtics. That alone might have made Notre Dame the best college option for someone who clearly will be walking on.

While the 2023-24 Irish will struggle, there is hope that the 2024-25 Irish  will allow Shrewsberry to do more than try to patch something together with a makeshift roster. Do you have the patience for that? Well, you won’t have a choice regardless. After all, good things come to those who wait.

Four-star combo guard recruit Sir Mohammed commits to Notre Dame

Another addition to the 2024 recruiting class.

[autotag]Micah Shrewsberry[/autotag]’s team of the future is picking up steam. Two days before 2024 four-star combo guard recruit [autotag]Sir Mohammed[/autotag] was set to announce his college pick, 2024 four-star forward [autotag]Garrett Sundra[/autotag] committed to Notre Dame. Now, you can add Mohammed to the Irish’s 2024 recruiting class. Mohammed announced his commitment during the Elite 24 showcase in Atlanta:

Needless to say, Shrewsberry had to celebrate everything that had transpired of late:

Mohammed, the son of former NBA player Nazr Mohammed, ranks fourth among 2024 recruits from North Carolina on 247Sports. He visited Notre Dame on June 18 and also took official visits to Virginia Tech, Marquette and Stanford. With this announcement, three of North Carolina’s top four 2024 recruits have committed to ACC programs. Drake Powell has picked North Carolina, Isaiah Evans is headed for Duke, and Jayden Quaintance has not yet made his decision.

Mohammed, who joins Sundra and [autotag]Cole Certa[/autotag] in the Irish’s 2024 recruiting class, has put up solid numbers for Myers Park in Charlotte. In three seasons on the varsity squad, he has averaged 14.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.7 steals a game. That’s the type of production the Irish will take, and here’s hoping that translates at the college level.

Penn State favored to land 2024 top 100 player

Penn State basketball a favorite to land this top 100 player in 2024

Penn State basketball has increased their level of recruiting in recent years. In 2015, they landed [autotag]Josh Reaves[/autotag] who was the first four-star recruit in program history. The next year, [autotag]Tony Carr[/autotag] and [autotag]Lamar Stevens[/autotag] were the only other four-star recruits to come to Penn State.

[autotag]Micah Shrewsberry[/autotag] has been able to land some high end talent since he’s taken over the reigns in State College. [autotag]Kebba Njie[/autotag] was a four-star in the class of 2022. [autotag]Carey Booth[/autotag] is a four-star commit from the 2023 class.

Now, it looks like another four-star might be coming to play for Penn State.

[autotag]Sir Mohammed[/autotag] is a 6’6″ wing player in North Carolina. He’s the son of former Kentucky and 18-year NBA player [autotag]Nazr Mohammed[/autotag].

Originally a native of Lexington, Kentucky, Mohammed now plays his high school basketball at Myers Park in Charlotte, NC. 247Sports has him ranked as the 73rd best player in the country for the 2024 class.

On Monday, Mohammed announced his top six schools.

He hasn’t ranked any of the schools on his list and is not excluding any of the other schools who are currently recruiting him.

There are 21 programs who have offered him a scholarship. Some of the top schools outside of his top six include Michigan, Providence, Georgetown, Ohio State, Xavier, NC State, Cincinnati and Notre Dame.

While Mohammed said his top six aren’t ranked in a particular order as of now, On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine thinks Penn State will land the four-star recruit.

Right now, the Nittany Lions are given a 47.1% chance to land him. Stanford is second with a 32.1% chance.

Mohammed told On3’s Joe Tipton what he’s liked about Penn State so far saying, “The relationship made with the Coach Shrewsberry and Coach Aki and the rest of the staff has been amazing and both my unofficial and official visit were great.”

As Penn State fans wait to see if Shrewsberry will stay with the program, it’s good to see recruits are still in including Penn State on their lists.

This running series will go through all of the uniform numbers worn in franchise history. The previous edition of this series was a list compiling the seven players who have worn the No. 15.
