Florida lands in top 10 for elite Indiana 2024 WR

The Gators made another recruit’s list of top programs on Saturday as wide receiver NiTareon Tuggle, one of the top juniors in the state of Indiana, cut things down to 10 schools.

Northwood (Indiana) wide receiver [autotag]NiTareon Tuggle[/autotag] narrowed things down to 10 schools on Saturday, and the Florida Gators were fortunate enough to make the cut for one of the Midwest’s top recruits.

Florida joins Auburn, Cincinnati, Colorado, Georgia, Michigan, Michigan State, Oregon, Penn State and Texas A&M as finalists for Tuggle. The On3 recruiting prediction machine currently favors the two-time reigning national champion Georgia Bulldogs at 40.9% odds, with the Spartans (9.6%) and Wolverines (8.2%) close behind.

The Gators are tied with the Aggies, Bearcats and Indiana Hoosiers in fourth with 6.9% odds. UF recently hosted Tuggle on campus at the beginning of the month, but Florida’s odds haven’t improved a ton since.

Still, Tuggle is leaving the door open for Florida to make a move. There’s a lot more playing time available in Gainesville right now than there is in Athens or some of the other landing spots he’s considering, and seeing how this year’s freshman receiver class does could influence him.

As a junior, Tuggle hauled in 38 receptions for 821 yards and 22 touchdowns. He also ran for 201 yards and found the end zone twice on the ground.

Tuggle is s three-star prospect, according to On3 and 247Sports, but Rivals.com grades him out as a four-star and the 59th-best receiver in the class. The On3 industry rankings, which use a weighted average of the scores from the major services based on reputability, have Tuggle at No. 478 overall and No. 82 among receivers in the class of 2024.

The industry rankings agree that Tuggle is the fourth-best player in the state of Indiana, though.

Texas A&M lands in 2024 3-Star WR NiTareon Tuggle’s Top 10 program list

Texas A&M has made 2024 3-star WR NiTareon Tuggle’s Top 10 program list ahead of a big recruiting push for the Maroon and White.

Texas A&M will field one of the most talented and complete starting wide receiver units during the 2023 season, but due to the rapidly growing popularity of the transfer portal, the importance of making additions through recruiting said skill players every cycle increases year to year.

Even with a starting unit consisting of Ainias Smith, Evan Stewart, and Moose Muhammad III, depth is an issue, and the 2024 recruiting class is loaded with enough receiving talent to at least provide head coach Jimbo Fisher some relief heading into a huge recruiting stretch this summer.

On Saturday, 2024 three-star wide receiver NiTareon Tuggle out of Nappanee, Indiana released his Top 10 program list, including Auburn, Georgia, Penn State, Cincinnati, Florida, Colorado, Michigan, Michigan State, Oregon, and of course, Texas A&M.

In a nutshell, Tuggle is a long, lean, and highly athletic receiving prospect, who at 6-3 and 190 lbs fits perfectly at the X postion due to his long-striding speed and excellent hands. in a scouting report 247Sports National Recruiting Analyst Allen Trieu, Tuggle’s vast skill set is examined:

Tall, long, but lean frame. Has fluidity and natural coordination in his movements. That shows up as he runs routes as he can smoothly change directions, but he is still working on his overall route running technique. Has good ball skills and a wide catch radius thanks to length, athleticism and hand-eye coordination. Slippery after the catch and elusive especially for his height. Must fill in and get stronger while refining his game but has a high ceiling. Clear Power Five prospect who still has a lot of runway to play his best football in college.

Tuggle is currently ranked as the 65th wide receiver in the 2024 class and the 6th-ranked player in Indiana. During his 2022 junior season at Northwood High School, Tuggle recorded 40 receptions for 792 yards and 15 touchdowns on the year.

2024 3-star wide receiver prospect makes Florida visit

Tuesday was a big day for the Florida staff, with an out-of-state WR prospect visiting campus for the first time.

Billy Napier came into his role as head coach of the Florida Gators with a plan to keep the best players in Florida, in-state. But just because that’s the plan, doesn’t mean Napier isn’t against bringing in players from beyond the sunshine state.

NiTareon Tuggle, a three-star wide receiver prospect from Nappanee, Indiana, was on campus today for his first visit with the Gators. This comes on the heels of a visit to Georgia over the weekend. As of now, the Florida visit wraps up a busy stretch of recruiting trips for Tuggle.

Before stopping in Gainesville, the Northwood High School prospect took unofficial visits to Notre Dame, Texas A&M, USC, Michigan and aforementioned Georgia. He currently has an official visit with the Bulldogs scheduled for June 23.

Tuggle’s recruiting list isn’t limited to the programs he recently visited, but it does inform which schools he has higher on his shortlist. The 6-foot-3-inch, 190-pound pass catcher is also considering Auburn, Colorado and Penn State. According to the 247Sports composite’s 2024 player rankings, which factors in all four major recruiting services, Tuggle is considered a top-500 player in the nation, the No. 67 wide receiver in the nation, and the No. 5 player in the state of Indiana.

Wisconsin offers three-star wide receiver from Indiana

The Badgers offered NiTareon “Nitro” Tuggle, a three-star class of 2024 wide receiver from Nappanee, Indiana on Thursday.

The Badgers offered NiTareon “Nitro” Tuggle, a three-star wide receiver from Nappanee, Indiana on Thursday. The 6-foot-3 wide receiver still has one more season of football at Northwood High School before he’d make the leap to the collegiate level.

Tuggle has now received 21 Division 1 offers, including seven programs from within the Big Ten. Considering he’s from Indiana, it comes as no surprise that new head coach Luke Fickell has offered the wideout. Fickell has had great success with recruiting in the Midwest throughout his coaching career.

With four-star quarterback Mabrey Mettauer (The Woodlands, Texas) already set to join the Badgers in 2024, Tuggle could be a top target for him within Phil Longo’s “Air Raid” offense.
