Check out Chiefs TE Travis Kelce’s new Nike Blazer Mid ’77 Vintage collection

Nike is collaborating with Kelce on six new designs inspired by different facets of his life.

Kansas City Chiefs TE Travis Kelce is taking his signature sense of style to Nike, collaborating with the brand to launch a new sneaker collection.

The new collection of Nike Blazer Mid ’77 Vintage styles includes six different colorways that are all inspired by a different facet of Kelce’s life. One is inspired by the Chiefs, another his Tru Kolors clothing brand, another Cleveland Heights High School, and the “Runway” design inspired by Kelce’s annual Walk the Walk charity fashion show.

One of the designs is particularly special with Kelce collaborating through Nike By You with Kenniah Declouiet, a young designer that he met through his 87 and Running foundation. The whole idea behind the collection is to inspire and invite future generations to blaze their own trail.

Check it out:

You can find the collection now over at Nike.com with prices beginning at $120. You’re able to customize each of the designs through the Nike By You platform, allowing you to put your own personal flair on the shoes if you choose.

PGA Championship: Nike’s Lowcountry inspired golf footwear

Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka, Tony Finau and other Nike athletes will be wearing special shoes at the 2021 PGA Championship.

When companies make commemorative gear to sell during major championships, they gravitate toward local themes.

For instance, two years ago, when the PGA Championship was being contested at the Black Course at Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, New York, the famous warning sign near the first tee and the grittiness of New York City were highlighted. Last year, when the tournament visited TPC Harding Park in San Francisco, psychedelic colors, tie-dye patterns and peace symbols were everywhere.

This week, the PGA Championship is being played at the Ocean Course on Kiawah Island in South Carolina. The area is referred to as The Lowcountry region, and is known for boating, fishing, great golf courses and boils on the beaches that feature steaming crab, sausage, corn and potatoes. It’s laid back, gentile and not a place where people hurry and rush too much.

To celebrate the 2021 PGA Championship, Nike is picking up on those themes for new versions of four golf shoes.

SPECIAL DELIVERY: Exploring Kevin Durant’s signature shoe history with the KD 14

A look at Kevin Durant’s brand new signature sneaker

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHI7CIebR9A

A strap is something that we’ve seen fairly commonly on a bunch of basketball shoes throughout the history of sneakers.

But the strap on Kevin Durant’s brand new KD 14 is more than a strap — it’s history.

Nike took Kevin Durant’s signature basketball line back to the roots that made it a hit with people in the first place. And they did it with the strap — a simple design concept.

The strap was a prominent feature on both the KD 4 and the KD 7 which are both widely considered two of the best models on Durant’s signature line.

Sykes unboxes the 14 on the latest episode of Special Delivery in the video above. The crew explores the history of the strap and explains why this shoe is more of a milestone for Kevin Durant than a signature sneaker.

Enjoy.

A look at what might be Kobe Bryant’s final two sneakers with Nike

Kobe Bryant’s time with Nike will end with some heat

Things are apparently coming to an end between the Kobe Bryant estate and Nike.

A few weeks ago it was reported that Vanessa Bryant and the Kobe Bryant estate were breaking ties with Nike and taking their business elsewhere.

They filed for multiple trademarks that used Bryant’s name and likeness and seemed to plan to launch their own brand. In the time since the estate has already launched a single apparel collab with another brand.

But although it’s clear that the two sides are moving on from each other — at least in the near future — their deal with each other isn’t up quite yet. Vanessa Bryant posted a picture on Instagram shortly after news broke that they were parting ways with Nike saying there’d be two more Kobe sneaker releases from the Swoosh.

We may finally have a look at both. One has already been confirmed, and the other confirmation might be on the way.

First, we’re getting the Hall of Fame Kobe 5 dropping just in time for Bryant’s Hall of Fame induction on May 15. The shoe is a collaboration with streetwear brand UNDFTD and the brand has already sold some pairs off via a raffle.

Next, it looks like there may be a “Mamba Forever” Kobe 6 coming sometime this summer that pays tribute to both Gigi and Kobe Bryant, per Nice Kicks. It uses the Mamba and Mambacita foundation logo that the Bryant estate filed a trademark for.

These don’t have a release date just yet, but they’re expected to drop this summer.

We’ll see if it ends up being this pair or another. Either way, we can expect them to be hard to get.

SPECIAL DELIVERY: Is this Nike’s best collab of 2021? Unboxing the Air Max 90 ‘Bacon’

Everybody loves bacon.

Every sneaker has a story. And many of them are pretty good. But I promise you, there are not many quite as good as the story about Nike’s Air Max 90 ‘Bacon.’

This shoe was born on the back of one of the most elaborate and fantastic sneaker trolls we’ve ever seen. The creator, Dave Ortiz, made the shoe by not taking things too seriously. He just used his passion and creativity to make an Air Max classic.

Sykes and the Special Delivery crew unbox the 2021 version of this 2004 classic in the latest episode of Special Delivery. You don’t want to miss it.

Former Ohio State running back Trey Sermon signs Nike deal

Former Ohio State running back Trey Sermon has signed a multi-year deal with Nike according to an announcement from his sports agency.

Former Ohio State running back Trey Sermon has signed a deal with Nike just a couple of days before his name ultimately gets called in the 2021 NFL draft. The announcement came via Twitter from his sports agency, Element Sports Group.

No official conditions are known, or likely will be known, but it appears to be a multi-year deal according to the announcement.

Sermon joins Buckeye quarterback Justin Fields in the endorsement landscape. Fields signed a deal with C4 Energy Drink just last week. There have been no other Ohio State players confirmed as signing any sort of deal with the foot and sports apparel behemoth.

Sermon is not expected to go in the first round, but he more than put himself on the radar as a potential first-half of the draft pick with an end-of-the-season run not seen very often.

Congrats on taking another step towards some pretty amazing dream come true moments for Ohio State’s all-time single-game rushing holder.

Rookie Boston Celtics point guard Payton Pritchard signs shoe deal with Nike

It turns out it’s the week for rookie shoe deals in Boston, evidently.

Boston Celtics rookie point guard Payton Pritchard has reportedly signed a shoe deal of his own according to ESPN’s Nick De Paula, joining teammate and fellow 2020 NBA draftee Aaron Nesmith in signing a footwear deal this week.

Pritchard will sign with Nike to contrast his teammate’s contract with team practice facility neighbor New Balance, with the full terms of the endorsement deal with the athletic apparel and sneaker maker undisclosed. Fans have likely seen the University of Oregon product posting images of several different Nike sneakers in official Oregon colorways, so it seems a natural outgrowth of the West Lynn native’s usual choice of footwear.

Drafted out of Oregon this past November, Pritchard has been a solid part of his new team’s rotation in a season they have had need for his services.

Fast PP — as he is sometimes called — has averaged 7.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists in his inaugural season with the Celtics.

Vanessa Bryant confirms there will be ‘2 more drops’ of Kobe Bryant’s Nike sneakers

The Kobe signature sneaker line is almost done

Kobe Bryant’s signature sneaker line with Nike is coming to an end after his estate decided to cut ties with the company after contract negotiations for an extension fell through.

It looks like Vanessa Bryant and the estate are going to launch their own independent line at some point down the road. They’ve already filed for a number of trademarks on logos and Bryant’s signature.

But before everything is all said and done, though, we’re getting two more Nike drops.

Vanessa Bryant confirmed that there would be two more drops from Kobe’s signature sneaker line with Nike via her Instagram account on Friday.

As far as what they’ll be, we have no idea. One can reasonably expect that the Hall of Fame shoe fans have been waiting on will be one of them and that might come once Bryant is inducted into the Hall of Fame this May.

As far as what the other could potentially be, we have no idea. All we know is that they’re coming.

Hopefully, fans won’t have too rough of a time trying to get their hands on them.

Simone Biles is leaving Nike for Athleta and that might change gymnastics as we know it

Simone Biles is leaving Nike for Athleta. Here’s why.

It’s not every day that an athlete leaves Nike — the biggest sportswear and apparel brand in the world.

But this week it lost two big ones. Earlier on Tuesday it was announced that Kobe Bryant’s estate was moving on from the company after nearly two decades of partnering with the brand.

Now, Simone Biles, the best gymnast in the world and the most successful athlete of her generation, is leaving the company, too.

Biles is moving on to Athleta — a women’s activewear brand under the Gap umbrella.

Biles is really about to get into her bag with her new partnership. Let’s talk about what she’s doing, what her goals are and what this might mean moving forward.

Zion Williamson had an awesome moment reflecting on the journey to his first signature shoe

What an incredible moment.

Having a signature shoe is a moment for an NBA player. Only a handful of stars get their own sneaker. It’s a rite of passage for some of the best players in the NBA.

Zion Williamson has now joined that illustrious club with his brand new Zion 1 from Jordan Brand.

He debuted the shoe against the Nets on Tuesday and was asked about the journey to getting his very first signature shoe after the game. He took a moment to reflect on not just the shoe, but all of the people who got him there.

It was an incredibly thoughtful moment from the Pelican’s star.

Man, you know I really wish we would’ve got the win but…It’s one of those things where I look at my mom, look at my older brother, look at my stepfather — especially my stepfather. I just kind of go to him and my mom and just say thank you. All of those countless hours in the gym, all those dreams and all the wins and all the losses. The crazy journey, moving a lot. They saw something in me that I ain’t see in myself. I’m just forever grateul for that, thankful for that.”

That’s awesome, man. Congrats to Zion. It only goes up from here.
