Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens have heard it all in recent weeks with all the backlash over the Green Bay Packers’ safety and his version of the story about how he met the legendary gymnast.

But they’ve deflected all that on social media, ignoring all the haters and continuing to talk about what they love about each other.

Now, with Owens’ NFL season ending after the Green Bay Packers were eliminated from the playoffs, Biles has posted on Instagram with a simple message along with photos of the pair, perhaps a way of putting any “controversy” to rest if that exists:

Because on Wednesday’s edition of the New Heights podcast, the Kelces discussed Travis being nominated for a People’s Choice Award. Then, Jason wondered — sarcastically, of course — why Simone Biles was nominated and not Owens, the Green Bay Packers safety. He called Owens her “boyfriend,” and then he and Travis had a laugh, with the Chiefs tight end remarking, “He played some good ball over there, I guess.”

We knew Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens were all good after all the backlash that sprouted out of the Green Bay Packers safety’s version of how he and the legendary gymnast met.

And in the latest Vanity Fair, Biles reaffirmed what she loves about Owens in a long feature about her.

“If I’m going to be honest, obviously he’s very fine,” she said. “[But] besides his looks, he was so sweet and kind, and I think what I liked about him was his confidence. He truly believes he’s the best at everything,”

Owens was quoted in the article, mentioning that she did message him first — which we’ve heard before — but here’s what he had to say about his wife when they met:

“I just noticed her laugh,” Owens says of those initial interactions. “It was just contagious. We could talk all day and we’d stayed up late, and there just wasn’t an awkward moment.”

Simone Biles is lighting in a bottle and the AP Female Athlete of the Year once again.

It’s the third time winning the award for Biles, who returned to gymnastics after two years away, blowing away any expectations that anyone likely had for her. The last prominent memory of the gymnast before her return was of her earning a bronze medal in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

It was a bitter and somber moment for many fans as Biles battled mental hurdles and the “twisties,” a feeling of being lost in the air, similar to vertigo. But, after she took time away (and married Jonathan Owens), it was almost as if she picked up right where she left off.

She won a record-breaking eighth U.S. national championship and a sixth world all-around gold medal, making the 4-foot-11 powerhouse the most decorated gymnast ever.

Whew, boy. Jonathan Owens has been catching it from all sides of the internet over the last 24 hours.

Simone Biles and Owens shared the story of how they first met on a dating app on The Pivot podcast with Ryan Clark. The story is hilarious. Owens said they matched on a dating app, connected in person and things took off from there.

But there’s a couple of plot twists, though. First, Owens said that Biles was actually the one who pursued him. “I always say men are the catch,” Owens said to Clark. Biles says it was the other way around, of course.

The other plot twist is that somehow or another, Owens says, he had no idea who Biles was. Yes. That’s right. The Simone Biles. Owens had no idea who she was.

This is already the perfect Hallmark movie, man. It’s hilarious and adorable. You can’t beat that.

Simone Biles is an Olympic gold medalist — the most decorated ever in her sport — but even she needed some help landing the man of her dreams. Before she met her future husband, Green Bay Packers safety Jonathan Owens, Biles joined a dating app hoping to meet “Mr. Right.”

So did Jonathan Owens.

The pair eventually matched with each other’s profiles, and a short time later, Biles messaged Owens to connect in person. The pair hit it off and have been inseparable ever since.
