  • Despite their geographical proximity, the two sides haven’t met since Oct. 2015, with the Buccaneers claiming a 38-31 victory. The Jags have won four of the six all-time, head-to-head matchups.
  • The Jaguars have allowed a league-high 24.3 points per game in the second half since Week 9. They’ve also allowed a league-high 7.3 yards per carry to opposing running backs since Week 9.
  • Jacksonville has attempted a two-point conversion on a league-high 30% of PATs this season.
  • The Jags are 1-16 when allowing 100 or more rushing yards since the start of last season. The Buccaneers average 98.3 yards per game on the ground.
  • Tampa Bay has the NFL’s second-best rush defense with an average of 78.7 yards allowed per game. It’s second-worst in the NFL with 30.5 points per game allowed.
  • The Jaguars are 7-0 when not committing a turnover since the beginning of 2017. The Bucs rank seventh with 17 takeaways on the year.
  • Tampa Bay is minus-10 in turnover differential. Jacksonville is neutral.

Buccaneers at Jaguars: Odds, betting lines and prediction

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Thursday at 1:50 p.m. ET.

Prediction

Jaguars 25, Buccaneers 21

Moneyline (?)

The JAGUARS (-106) have lost three straight games, but they’re 2-3 at home this season. The Buccaneers (-115) are slight road favorites with a 3-3 record as the visitors. The Bucs beat the rival Atlanta Falcons 35-22 on the road last week, while the Jags lost 42-20 at the rival Tennessee Titans.

Jacksonville will win the turnover battle, as most teams do against the Bucs, and come away with the home win.

New to sports betting? A $10 bet on the Jags to win outright returns a profit of $9.43.

Against the Spread (?)

The more profitable play is siding with the JAGUARS (-1.5, +105) to cover the meager spread and win by two or more points. Jacksonville is 5-6 against the spread, but fails to cover by an average of four points per game. Tampa Bay is just 3-8 ATS, but has a neutral differential against the projections – helped largely by last week’s blowout win as an underdog.

Over/Under (?)

Take the UNDER 48.5 (-115). The Bucs are a league-best 9-2 against the Over/Under, and they top the projected total by an average of 9.8 points per game. The Jags are 6-5 against the projections and top the number by only 0.8 points per game. This is the highest point projection for the Jags since Week 1 and they haven’t scored more than 20 points as a team in three straight games.

Thanksgiving Day and Week 13 NFL picks

All the Week 13 NFL games picked against the spread. Let’s start the playoff push.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

To the picks!

Point spreads were provided by Bet MGM. (HOME TEAM in all caps).

Week 11 record: 8-6

Season record: 88-85

Chicago (-2.5) vs. DETROIT

Matt LaFleur vs. David Blough (??). Happy Thanksgiving!

Pick: Bears (-2.5)

DALLAS (-6.5) vs. Buffalo

The combined winning percentage of the teams Dallas has beat is .250. The combined winning percentage of the teams Buffalo has beat is .239.

Pick: Cowboys (-6.5)

New Orleans (-6.5) vs. ATLANTA

The Saints lost to the Falcons at home and then almost lost to the Panthers at home. Should they go back to Teddy Bridgewater? Questions worth asking.

Pick: Saints (-6.5)

Green Bay (-6.5) vs. NEW YORK GIANTS

What a brutal travel schedule for Green Bay. They were in Santa Clara late Sunday night, then have to fly back across the country to face the Giants for an early Sunday game. Ouch.

Pick: Packers (-6.5)

CAROLINA (-9.5) vs. Washington

Christian McCaffrey’s fantasy season is the only thing that matters about Carolina’s year now. He might go for 40 vs. Washington.

Pick: Panthers (-9.5)

BALTIMORE (-6.5) vs. San Francisco

Unstoppable force meets immovable object. This could wind up being the game of the year.

Pick: Ravens (-6.5)

INDIANAPOLIS (-2.5) vs. Tennessee

No T.Y. Hilton for the Colts is a huge boost for the Titans, who are in the thick of the playoff hunt thanks to a Pro Bowl caliber performance from Derrick Henry and …  *checks notes* … Ryan Tannehill?

Pick: Titans (+2.5)

Philadelphia (-9.5) vs. MIAMI

Brian Flores should get some Coach of the Year consideration for guiding this Dolphins team to two wins.

Pick: Eagles (-9.5)

JACKSONVILLE (-1.5) vs. Tampa Bay

Ah, yes. The battle to find out which city is actually the worst Florida city in the NFL. My money is on Jacksonville because of the whole mayonnaise thing.

Pick: Buccaneers (+1.5)

New York Jets (-3.5) vs. CINCINNATI

The Bengals aren’t going 0-16, are they?

Pick: Bengals (+3.5)

Cleveland (-1.5) vs. PITTSBURGH

The lack of Myles Garrett and Mason Rudolph in this one dramatically diminishes the interest level here.

Pick: Browns (-1.5)

Los Angeles Rams (-2.5) vs. ARIZONA

If we swapped Kliff Kingsbury and Sean McVay at the start of this year, which team is better? It’s probably the Rams.

Pick: Rams (-2.5)

KANSAS CITY (-9.5) vs. Oakland

The Raiders either win this game or lose it by 30. To be completely honest, we didn’t expect this game to have legitimate playoff implications.

Pick: Raiders (+9.5)

Los Angeles Chargers (-2.5) vs. DENVER

Which of these teams fires its head coach first this offseason? Getting rid of Vic Fangio right away sounds like a John Elway move.

Pick: Broncos (+2.5)

New England (-3.5) vs. HOUSTON

The Patriots haven’t scored more than 20 points in their last three games. Sneaky story line being overshadowed by the Patriots’ dominant defense.

Pick: Texans (+3.5)

SEATTLE (-2.5) vs. Minnesota

This is a huge game for the NFC playoff picture. 49ers fans everywhere are pulling hard for the Vikings.

Pick: Seahawks (-2.5)

NFL picks against the spread for Week 13 Thanksgiving games

Thanksgiving is mostly about the underdogs in these football games.

Week 13 of the NFL kicks off with three games on Thanksgiving. As always, the Detroit Lions and the Dallas Cowboys will play at home. The nightcap will be an NFC South showdown between the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons.

Here are our picks for each of those games, based on the point spread and point totals.

All odds come from BetMGM.

Chicago Bears (-2.5) at Detroit Lions

(AP Photo/Charles Rex Arbogast)

ATS pick: Bears -2.5

Over/under: UNDER 39.5

The Lions have lost four in a row and now will have their third-string quarterback, David Blough, under center, as Jeff Driskel hurt his hamstring on Sunday. That combined with the Bears’ very tough defense will mean an ugly early Thanksgiving game.

The Tennessee Titans (6-5) visit the Indianapolis Colts (6-5) at Lucas Oil Stadium Sunday for a 1 p.m. ET kickoff.  We analyze the Titans-Colts odds and lines, with NFL Week 13 betting picks and tips for the matchup. They’re tied for second in the AFC South, one game behind the Houston Texans (7-4), and in the thick of the wild-card race.

Titans at Colts: Week 13 preview, betting trends and notes

  • The Titans are 4-1 ATS in their last five games, but just 6-5 for the season. The Colts are 2-3 ATS in their last five after starting 4-1-1 in 2019.
  • Indianapolis is 10-2 SU in its last 12 home games. The Colts have been even better at home, specifically against the Titans, going 10-1 in their last 11.
  • The Colts have covered the spread in each of their last seven games against the AFC South.
  • The Titans are 1-4 ATS vs. teams with a winning record in their last five games.
  • The total has gone over in each of the Titans’ last five games and five of the Colts’ last seven home contests.
  • The favorite has gone 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings between these two teams.

Titans at Colts: Key injuries

Titans TE Delanie Walker (ankle) has been placed on injured reserve and is out for the year.

Colts RB Marlon Mack remains out with a hand injury, which required surgery last week.

Titans at Colts: Odds, betting lines and prediction

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated on Wednesday at 2:25 p.m. ET

Prediction

Titans 24, Colts 21

Moneyline (?)

The Titans come into this one as the much hotter team. They’ve really improved since QB Ryan Tannehill took over, and his strong stretch of play will continue this weekend.

Bet the TITANS (+115) to win straight-up behind a strong rushing attack from Derrick Henry and steady play by Tannehill.

New to sports betting? A $10 wager on the Titans to win outright would return a profit of $11.50.

Against the Spread (?)

The Colts are favored by 2.5 points at home, which means the oddsmakers see the Titans as the slightly better team if on a neutral field. Getting two points with Tennessee is enticing, considering the Titans have covered in four of their last five games.

Bet the TITANS (+2.5, -106) to cover the spread against a Colts team that has been struggling.

Over/Under (?)

The Titans have been hot as of late, winning four of their last five games and scoring at least 20 points in each of the five contests. Their last two wins against the Jaguars (42 points) and Chiefs (35 points) have been especially impressive, too.

The over/under is set at 43.5. Considering the Over has hit in each of the Titans’ last five games, that’s a pretty solid bet. Take the OVER (-110) in this one.

NFL Thanksgiving Day Betting Guide – NFL parlays to consider

NFL parlay bets to consider around Week 13’s Thanksgiving Day Games.

Three NFL games are on tap for Thanksgiving Day, giving sports fans and bettors plenty of betting action to take part in while friends and family gather around the holiday celebration.

The Detroit Lions host the Chicago Bears, the Dallas Cowboys host the Buffalo Bills and the Atlanta Falcons host the New Orleans Saints Thursday.

While you can bet on all three games individually, the slate leads to some interesting parlay options, too.

New to sports betting? A parlay bet is when you place a wager on two or more items. In order to cash, you need them all playing out exactly as you pick. They can include different betting lines, games or sports, even. The larger amount of items involved in a parlay lead to larger payout opportunities, but also higher risk.

Thanksgiving NFL Parlay Bets

1. Bears moneyline (-189), Bills against the spread (-106) and Saints moneyline (-286)

A $10 wager returns a potential $40.28 payout, $30.28 profit

2. Lions/Bears under (-139), Bills/Cowboys over (-125) and Saints/Falcons over (-106)

A $10 wager returns a potential $60.37 payout, $50.37 profit

Oakland Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Sunday’s Oakland Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs sports betting odds and lines, with NFL Week 13 betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Oakland Raiders (6-5) visit Arrowhead Stadium Sunday for a Week 13 AFC West divisional clash with the Kansas City Chiefs (7-4). Kickoff is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET. We analyze the Raiders-Chiefs odds and sports betting lines, while providing sports betting tips and advice on this matchup.

Raiders at Chiefs: Week 13 preview, betting trends and notes

Get some action on the games by betting at BetMGM. New customer offer: RISK-FREE First Bet (up to $500!) paid in free bets.

  • The Chiefs beat the Raiders 28-10 in Oakland in Week 2. QB Patrick Mahomes completed 30 of 44 passes for 443 yards and four touchdowns. Raiders QB Derek Carr threw for 198 yards and one touchdown against two interceptions.
  • Kansas City is coming off a Week 12 bye, while Oakland lost 34-3 at the New York Jets.
  • The Raiders are 3-16 when throwing at least one interception since the start of the 2017 season. Carr has thrown six picks this season and the Chiefs have 10 defensive interceptions.
  • The Oakland defense has allowed the highest rates of passes of 20 and 40 or more yards since the start of last season.
  • The Chiefs are 14-1 when rushing for more than 100 yards as a team since the start of last season. The Raiders allow 104.3 rushing yards per game.
  • KC has won the last four head-to-head meetings with three of the four being decided by double-digit margins.

Raiders at Chiefs: Key injuries

Raiders QR Hunter Renfrow (rib) suffered a punctured lung in Week 12 and will miss time.

Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill (hamstring) is expected to play. RB Damien Williams (ribs) is a little more questionable.

Raiders at Chiefs: Odds, betting lines and prediction

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Wednesday at 12:10 a.m. ET.

Prediction

Chiefs 27, Raiders 16

Moneyline (?)

The Chiefs are significant home favorites at -500 as they try to stay atop the division. They’re 2-3 at home, but the Raiders are only 1-4 on the road coming off the ugly loss to the Jets. KC wins this one, but these odds are too chalky with a $10 bet paying a profit of just $2. PASS and play the spread.

Against the Spread (?)

The wiser play is to back the CHIEFS (-9.5, –110) with the points for a win by 10 or more. They’re 6-5 against the spread on the year and cover by an average of 1.1 points per game. The Raiders are also 6-5 ATS, but they fail to cover by three points per game.

Over/Under (?)

The projected total of 51.5 points is the highest of the week. With neither team at full health, take the UNDER (-110). Three of the last four head-to-head meetings fell short of this week’s number. The Chiefs are 0-3 against the Over/Under in divisional games and the Raiders are 1-2.

Los Angeles Chargers at Denver Broncos odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Sunday’s Los Angeles Chargers at Denver Broncos sports betting odds and lines, with NFL Week 13 betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Denver Broncos (3-8) host the Los Angeles Chargers (4-7) at Empower Field at Mile High Sunday of Week 13 in the NFL. Kickoff between the two AFC West rivals is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET. We analyze the Chargers-Broncos odds and sports betting lines, while providing NFL betting tips and advice on this matchup.

Chargers at Broncos: Week 13 preview, betting trends and notes

Get some action on the games by betting at BetMGM. New customer offer: RISK-FREE First Bet (up to $500!) paid in free bets.

  • The Broncos won the first meeting of the two teams in Week 5 by a 20-13 count. Chargers QB Philip Rivers completed 32 of 48 passes for just 211 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions. QB Joe Flacco was under center for Denver.
  • Brandon Allen has started the last three games for the Broncos and has gone 1-2. He has completed 46.4% of his passes with three touchdowns and two interceptions.
  • Denver has won three of the last five head-to-head meetings but none of the victories came by more than one score. LA’s two wins were by 21 and 14 points.
  • The Chargers have the fifth-worst turnover differential in the NFL at minus-9. The Broncos are minus-2.
  • The Broncos are 1-10 when allowing 100 or more rushing yards since the start of the last season. The Chargers average just 86.7 team rushing yards per game.
  • Both teams are in the bottom 10 of the league by points scored.

Chargers at Broncos: Odds, betting lines and prediction

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Tuesday at 11:55 p.m. ET.

Prediction

Chargers 21, Broncos 10

Moneyline (?)

The CHARGERS (-162) are an easy choice as they go up against the struggling Allen. Both teams have lost two in a row coming into Week 13 and they’re both 2-3 in their respective location split. It will be a defensive battle with two mistake-prone offenses, but back the road team over the Broncos (+135).

Against the Spread (?)

The wiser play is with the CHARGERS (-2.5) to cover at -121. The Chargers are just 3-6-2 against the spread overall and fail to cover by an average of 1.3 points per game. The Broncos are 6-5 ATS and fail to cover by 0.7 points per game.

Over/Under (?)

Take the UNDER 38.5 (-110). It’s a low projection but the Broncos are 4-7 against the Over/Under and the Chargers are just 3-8. Both teams fall an average of six points shy of the projected total. The Week 5 meeting also fell well short of this week’s number.

Previewing Thursday’s New Orleans Saints at Atlanta Falcons Thanksgiving betting odds and lines, with NFL betting picks, tips and best bets.

[jwplayer 13LaLriA]

The Atlanta Falcons (3-8) play host to the New Orleans Saints (9-2) at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Thanksgiving as the two NFC South rivals meet for the second time in four weeks. The game is the third of the day and will kick off at 8:20 p.m. ET. We analyze the Saints-Falcons odds and sports betting lines, while providing sports betting tips and advice on this matchup.

  • The Falcons won the Week 10 meeting in New Orleans by a 26-9 score to snap a six-game losing streak.
  • The Saints are 13-1 when intercepting at least one pass since the start of last season. Falcons QB Matt Ryan has 10 INTs on the year.
  • New Orleans is 27-2 when scoring 22 or more points since the start of the 2017 campaign.
  • The Falcons have scored 22.0 points per game this season, but they rank 28th in the NFL with 27.0 points allowed per game. The Saints score 24.7 and allow 20.9 per game.
  • The Saints are tied for fourth with a turnover differential of plus-8. The Falcons are 27th at minus-8.

Saints at Falcons: Odds, betting lines and prediction

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Tuesday at 2:35 a.m. ET.

Prediction

Saints 24, Falcons 20

Moneyline (?)

The Falcons (+220) are home underdogs but the number is lower than it should be following the Week 10 upset. The SAINTS (-278) are getting a higher number than they should.

Atlanta is just 1-4 at home and coming off a 35-22 embarrassment at the hands of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Saints are 4-1 on the road and they beat the Carolina Panthers 34-31 Sunday. Take the visitors, though a $10 bet for the outright win will return a profit of just $3.60.

Against the Spread (?)

The FALCONS (+6.5, –110) are being spotted a touchdown at home and the hook is key here as they’ll need to stay within six points for the cover. The Saints are 7-4 against the spread overall, but cover by an average of just 0.6 points per game.

Back the home side with a backdoor cover keeping them within six points in defeat.

Over/Under (?)

Take the UNDER 49.5 (-106). The number is the highest on the three-game Thursday slate. Each of the last two and four of the last five head-to-head meetings fell short of that number. New Orleans is 6-5 against the Over/Under but falls an average of 1.3 points shy of the projection. Atlanta is 4-7 and falls one point below the projections on average.
